Hey guys !
I was browsing the web and found out some Smartphone lenses that promise some cool effects in the pictures. Most of them gives the so called Fisheye effect.
Have you guys tested one of these (any kind) with the Moto G camera ? How did it perform ?
I did. They do work great, but the image quality will depend a lot of the lens quality. Otherwise, they're fine.
Mine's a clippy lens. I annexed some samples. One's the lens itself, then there's one pic using the rear camera and another one using the front camera.

Shell comparison
Hey,
Really liked your rear shell for the Moto G 2014. Is it turquoise color ?
I am considering buying the same shell but cannot make up my mind since turquoise shell on the Motorola website look so different in color than the one you have.
Can you do a side by side comparison of the rear shell that shipped with the Moto G 2014 with the turquoise one ?
I heard that both the shells differ in terms of feel, strength and material... Do comment on these too.
Looking forward for some nice photos of the shell on the phone...
Thanks :good:

I also just got the wide angle lens and the macro lens. I have a Evo now but I will still try and get some pictures up. They work pretty good. Def worth the $6.

Hi legolas!
In fact the P990's camera has two protective "lenses".
In picture 1 you have the actual camera lens.
In picture 2 there is a plastic transparent cover to protect the actual camera lens, so this should be the only one ever to get scratched and it is easily replaceable.
Hope this was clear (and helpful) for you
The user above me said answered you very good and I think the one that is scratched for you is the Pic. 2 and that needs to be replaced. Hope it helps!

As a photographer, allow me to offer some simple and effective advice:
Buy this app, and save yourself lots of frustration; it's only £1.79 and it's fantastic.

75 degree and 135 degree
Honestly, those dont look very good to me. The camera seems to have greatly washed over fine detail
awesome camera
From what I am heading, camera software is not done yet. Wait till the full software is out then judge the camera. It is still too early

Too big picture
Worked with the team for this device for the week. Brilliant device I must say, and here's a picture from the G5 with its 135 degrees angle.

Is that original photo ? Cause it looks pretty bad, in my opinion. Hope this is resized.

I know that this sounds really stupid, but does anyone else with an AndroidOne version of the Moto X4 only have a 4mp front facing camera? The specs on the Motorola and the Google Fi website both show the front camera as 16mp, but my device (purchased through the Google Fi website in early November) only shows a 4mp front camera...
Did I just get a dud or is there something I'm missing?

On mine, front camera defaults to 4MP. I changed it to 16MP in camera settings.
Moto Camera app defaults to 4MP, but can change the front camera from 4MP to 16MP. Google Camera app can only go up to 4MP.
I wonder if it's really a 4MP sensor, and Moto does some resolution upscaling to market it as a "16MP" camera?
