Hello people.
I would like to ask you all to be easy with me, im a beginner with the android and im having some issues, i just got the new moto x 2nd gen 2014 and having some trouble.
1st: I downloaded some apps to install on my cell since my phone's internet here is bad, so i was trying to download the akp through my computer and send to my moto x, then i copied the file into the directory of the moto x but i cant find, open or install the .apk, i dont know how to proceed and what to do to install files on my new moto x without using the phone's internet. how can i do? ps: the phone doesnt have a memory card, just the 32 gb of internal memory, so i dont know what to do. Should i have some program to open the .apk file or the cell doesnt recognize it?
edit: i downloaded an app from the store and when i tried to install the .apk it said "Cannot open the file", what should i do?

My friend has a Motorola Droid and wanted to move some media files around but could not find his/a file program on his phone. I am assuming that his phone came with a File management program, am i right in assumng this, and if it did come with the stock software where do you think it disapeared too.
I downloaded astr file management for him, so this is really a question of curiosity more than anything else.
Thanks if anyone responds?
Nope no stock file manager exists. Looks like you're already set with astro which is what I'd recommend to non-rooted users.

Did you just needed the smartaction apk, or also system files to make it work on the Moto X? I have migrated from Razr I to Moto X; and the only thing I really miss is SmartActions.. If just installing the apk would give it back, it would be really great; Assist is just brrr..
By any chance; link to Smartactions apk?

Well, as you stated that you are still with motto band , I think you don't need any extra system file. Download the zip file , extract it , put the files in their proper positions according to the sub folder in extracted folder. If any file already exist in system don't replace it.Try and give feedback. I am not taking any credit or responsibility of it. I have tested in non moto device and it works except the location. If you able to get logcat then you can find which system file is needed for location access. Pl. Give feedback.

Hello.
I would like to use these two apps on my device (Nexus 4), but they are incompatible and I can't download them.
For about 3 hours I have searched for ways to download these two apks but have ultimately failed to do so.
Google provided no help, as they appear to be uploaded nowhere else on the internet, for me to download.
I have tried changing build.prop (=> no effect), I have tried downloading via the chrome extension APK Downloader (=> requires the Device ID of a Moto X, which I do not own), I have tried using Market Helper (=> outdated, only offers SGS3 and HTC One X as replacement options).
In short nothing works.
I would be very grateful if someone were to upload these two apk and give me the link.
It should be very simple to download them using a Moto X, as the only thing you have to do is simply grab them from the play store and then just extract the apks (using an app similar to Fast Uninstaller to create an .apk backup of it).
Thank you

I don't yet have an X so I can't help, but it's worth mentioning that even if someone provides the APK's they probably will not work because they're dependent upon framework changes that Motorola made for the X.
As an alternative to Motorola Connect you might consider trying "Mighty Text".
Hey guys,
I just recently updated my Moto X XT1053 to CM12. Prior to updating, I backed up my data including my photos. My question for you all is how can I put those photos, or rather any file really, back on my Moto X without the modified date changing to the current date? I have a feeling MTP is the reason why this happens so I want to know if there are any other alternative methods rather than dragging and dropping from my desktop to my connected phone. Thanks in advance.
SOLUTION:
Android to PC : Use MTP, drag and drop
PC to Android: Use Droid Explorer, copy and paste (don't drag and drop)
Ive used my droid turbo for 18 month or so. I always enjoy the convenience of installing an app first and drag data into the obb folder under emulated/0/Android.
But yesterday, I can't find it anymore(all those app data is not lost). I wanted to create a new obb folder but the phone tell me that the folder already exists. When I connect the phone to my computers(both mac and windows), I still can't find the obb folder and as I drag in a blank obb folder that I've just created, my phone crashed and restart. I used shell to check permission and it turns out the folder is there and I have full permission to Read and Write. And I backed up my device and give it a wipe. But no luck.
So, I know that the obb folder is still there, but hidden. I think it may be the Es explorer since the problem happens after I used es explorer to clean app residue after deleting an app which could trigger the write protection?
So Im bit frustrated after working on the issue or this long. So Im asking you guys, have you ever run into issues like this? Is there a viable solution?
Are you rooted? If so, try Root Explorer to see if you can see it.
Wouldn't hurt to re-flash SuperSu again in TWRP, either.
On the droid turbo it was a pain to find this folder, went with some suggestions creating new one, copying the whole folder. etc none worked, I gave up on the phone at that time also bootloader was locked, I went with moto maxx, what a ease

you are saying the problem is solved with an unlocked bootloader?
