Hey all,
I downgraded my galaxy gear from tizen down to android. When I did this, tizen was rooted but now that I have android on the gear, the touch screen doesn't work. It may be caused by the recovery? I flashed the recovery right after I downgraded to android on the gear but the recovery touch screen doesn't work either. Any help???
Please refrain from posting the same question in multiple threads. It's against forum rules. We understand your expensive device isn't working properly and you're in a panic. But please be patient.
But if you were to read more then the first post of the downgrade thread you got instructions from, you'd find your answer. Repeat the downgrade process again.

I got a hold of my friends galaxy tab by sprint and he had asked if i can fix it. The problem that he is having is that when you turn the tab on it gets stuck in the "Samsung" screen where it flashes but never fully boots up. Now typically if this occurred on my galaxy s phone i would just simply odin back to stock problem solved. However im not too sure the same applies for a galaxy tab. Can someone please help me out with this and let me know what steps need to be taken.
He did mentioned that before this problem occurred all he did was leave it charging over night and then unplugged it and tried to power it on and thats where he encountered this odd problem.
did he modify it at all?
maybe the kernel got hosed some weird way on the way it got charged, maybe overcharged and crapped out... you could try to reload a kernel...
when this happend with me, I had rooted it and applied cmw 3.0.0 without a kernel to support the ext partition. Try powering it off and holding down the vol button while powering it on. Does it go into download mode. If so get himdell from github (it acts similar to odin) once the drivers are loaded, install the libusb drivers for himdell in the galaxy tab drivers. there should be instructions in the text doc on what to do.
you can use himdell_frontend to flash a new kerenl.

when using himdell, is there a file(s) that will restore back to stock ?

As others have pointed out, this thread belongs in Q&A or Gen, however, having said that:
There's a discussion on flashing back to stock on a Sprint Tab here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=969892&highlight=sprint+stock+firmware
That thread points to another that yields the file, but the discussion in the one I linked looked to be worth reading.
I can't comment personally, as I am running a VZW Tab.
Good luck.
ok so i have a sprint galaxy tab i was trying to put this on my tab with no idea what i was doing....http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1020167 i had flashed it on the the device then it hung at the samsung screen forever without ever changing so i went to the restore option in the volume up power settings and selected a random restore point to boot from my tab came on this time back to 2.2 or whatever it was but i was getting all these force closes i go threw the setup process on my phone and now when i click on my wifi i get a error and my screen does not turn to the side and a bunch of other stuff can someone please help me i had no idea what i was doing when i did this i just want my phone to work like it worked when i got it out of the box please help thank you....
First, wrong section..
Second, check this thread for answers.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1133053
alright well i have tried the stock rom section of the link you gave me plenty of times since yesterday and i have the sw upgrade app running on my computer but i always get the same damn error when im at the start software download screen....cannot open binary file!....wtf
What you have done wrong is rushed into something you have no clue about which is a stupid thing to do with your device. First read, read and more read and when you know what you are doing THEN attempt to flash your device and not until.
Also you are posting in the wrong section, You have no business posting anything in here. If you want to ask a question then you reply to a roms thread or create a topic in the Q&A forum.
This isnt just a couple of boys complaining, it's a solid rule here.
Don't respond here - let it die. Then go to the Q&A section and start fresh there please.
its alright this can be closed now i fixed my tab
I actually thought the topic of this post was sarcasm. Got a laugh out of me. Thx.

Glad for you. What was your fix? Lets get some good out of this.
Posted in the wrong placeOk, I've had my Gear watch for about 6 months. After reading a lot of the post about Gear on XDA, I decided I wanted to upgrade to the latest firmware (NF1). I am currently on PDA:NA6 / CSC:NA6 (XAR). So I connected the Gear to my computer and started Kies 3. It offers to upgrade to PDA:NF1 / CSC:NF1 (XAR) which is what I want. Of course the upgrade fails. I get a message box that says: "ErrorCode=5,ErrorMessage=The operation completed successfully." but nothing has changed on the Gear.
After searching XDA for something that might explain this, and not finding anything, I decided to post this and see if anyone can help me. I'm thinking that it might be because there was another update in between these updates and that one was what switched the device to Tizen. Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to perform that update before I do this one. Can anyone help me, please.
Also, I do not want to root this device yet. I rooted my Asus Transformer Prime right after I bought it and could never go back nor get any updates for it. Since then, I don't root any of my devices until after I have replaced it.
Edit1: Posted in the wrong place, sorry. Could someone move this to "Galaxy Gear Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting"
Edit2: Never mind. I tried it again when I got home and it worked. Must be something in the security of my work network that was the problem.
Q&A for [GUIDE]How To Unbrick Your Galaxy Tab!
Some developers prefer that questions remain separate from their main development thread to help keep things organized. Placing your question within this thread will increase its chances of being answered by a member of the community or by the developer.
Before posting, please use the forum search and read through the discussion thread for [GUIDE]How To Unbrick Your Galaxy Tab!. If you can't find an answer, post it here, being sure to give as much information as possible (firmware version, steps to reproduce, logcat if available) so that you can get help.
Thanks for understanding and for helping to keep XDA neat and tidy!
Galaxy Tab 3 T210R / Bricked?
OK, I know I screwed this up b/c I was tired when I was working on the tablet. It's a Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 T210R (one of several I'm working on). Feel free to say I"m an idiot, I already know it was a stupid mistake.
I reset to factory specs using the operating system after installing the KitKat 4.4.2 firmware update and TWRP. This was that last thing I did before the current status.
Current status is that it won't start, yet Odin registers the tablet as connected, and seemed to be able to reinstall the firmware & TWRP with a positive result.
UPDATE: I was able to connect kies which also seemed to complete a system update, except that the tablet still has a black screen and seemingly unresponsive buttons. This is so weird.
Sooooo, not sure if it's bricked or not, since Odin registers it being connected. However, Kies can't find it. And none of the buttons appear to work.
I have it plugged into the outlet charging at the moment (not the laptop). It was nearly fully charged when I screwed it up.
I have SD cards, and an a couple exact model tablets that work just fine with the new Firmware (4.4.2) and TWRP (2.8.20). Is it possible to clone one of the working ones onto this one?
The one thing I haven't done is try to install a new ROM.
Help? Bricked? Or... ?
Much appreciate any expertise or suggestions. Thanks.

Update 07/07/2015
I let the tablet's battery run down (as was suggested in one of the threads), and when I plugged it in to the AC power, I got the Samsung Galaxy logo!
I was then able to restart in download mode, and reinstall the md5 file via Odin. Not sure why letting the battery run down works, but at this point, I don't really care. I'm glad that the tablet could be resurrected from the dead, in spite of my mistake.
I hope this is helpful! :victory:
tab not showing up in ODIN
I have my galaxy tab soft bricked, but when I plug it in to ODIN, the pc does not recognise the tablet and therefore I can't reinstall the firmware, although the tablet is connected to the pc, as it gets charging when plugged in.
I've tried reinstalling samsung drivers, killing every samsung keys program running in background, another cable and even three different ODIN versions (v.1.7 // v3.07 // v.3.09), but it is not showing up in any version.
I have been looking for a solution since last year. last year I had windows 8 and it didn't work; then I upgraded to win 8.1. again nothing, and with windows 10 the same story. can anyone help me please?
thank you very much.
