Hello,
Will I be able to root Xperia Z3 compact with well know Towel root?
Towel Root XDA page
Towel Root homepage
I think Z3C is using 4.4.4 KitKat with "anti towel" patch, but if anyone already has the device, please try it. Thanks!
Tried it. Doesn't work.
Could it be possible in the future, so with a new version of towelroot?
Or in other words, does towelroot use only a specific exploit, so if this one is fixed in a devices kernel, will it never be supported?
This will not happen now, geohot, who created towelroot, now works for Google helping them to block exploits just like this..

Exactly. The kernel bug is fixed in newer firmwares and older firmwares don't exist for the Z3C (obviously ).
So far this is the only way to root the z3 compact

Any one know if there's a one click root method coming out. Kind of a noob to the z1 if you couldn't already tell. I just got my z1 today on 4.3. Searching for everything and found vroot and kingo but none root on 4.3. I actually have the c6906 and there isn't as many methods for mine, mostly the c6902 and the c6903. Any solid methods for the c6906? I saw the videos and weren't much help when looking for the ftf files. I'm using on AT&T. Is there a solid ftf file for c6906 on AT&T.

You don't need to use region specific FTF's. Just use any FTF for c6906. You can find a rooting video guide in my signature.
Most likely one click root will NOT be available. It is too hard to find root exploits, and if there is a method available there is no point for developers to waste their time. Especially that new firmware versions keep being released.

I can't find any c6906 ftf files that aren't linked to Mega. We can't use Mega here in the US. You got any c6906 working links? and if I use any region ftf will I still be able to use it on AT&T?
i use mega all the time in the usa...
Hello! I'm kinda of a noob on this forum. I have a question which might sound dumb..I have a T-Mobile Z1s can I flash a similar firmware that doesn't have all the T-Mobile crapware? Does this need to get the bootloader unlocked?

we do not have root yet, our bootloader is currently unlockable. There is a bounty threat about root for our device.

Yeah I understand but can I do the flashing process or not
There arw no compatible roms to flash... You need an unlocked bootloader or root exploit to rom we have neither.
To all z1c / z1s users, i dont recommend u to unlock the bootloader of your device now
1. U will lose DRM key, bionz and X-reality will be gone (X-reality may be able to restored, but not possible for Bionz for now)
2. U may think about TA backup. But before doing TA backup u need to have the bootloader never unlocked yet but have your device rooted, in which this condition is impossible currently.
3. yeah, sucks to be u, but there arent so much thing u can enchanced on the z1c and there seems wasnt so much rom for u to install curently. plz wait
I just rooted my Xperia Z (C6606) last night, and now this morning I notice my xperia is downloading a new update. I'm not new to the scene with rooting, I'm sure it will break my root, is there a root method for this new update?
It most likely break root if successful or fail to update.

I'm in the same boat... I noticed the new update this morning. I'm wondering if SuperSU Pro w/ survival mode enabled will preserve root. Haven't tried it yet...
I thought as much, guess I won't update then, unless there is a method to root the new update

I loaded the update and lost my root access. Trying to find an updated root process now that will work with the 10.4.C.0.814 version. Very frustrating that I can't simply post in the thread for the previous version of root to ask for an update.
TMo? An update? What android version?
If you want root you will have to go back to 4.2.2 and root it again then flash a pre rooted stock based ROM.
Usually an update kills root.

It's not an Android update. It's updates to some of the Sony applications and I think some UI tweaks. According to T-Mobile, Sony has not released an update to the phone beyond 4.2.2. Ha.
I researched it after the question. Its apparently 4.3 as said in other sources. TMo cant document did their life.

I have tried at least 15 times and keep getting this. Am I doing something wrong? I am not new to this. It downloads and tries to install but it never finishes.
you may root it again bro. Root will lost if a new frmware updated to your phone.

On the Sony website they say that the build number and the jellybean are updated to 4.3 instead of the 4.2.2.
Just look up the model number on sony mobile

Flash the ROM in the recovery console, such as TWRP then flash the kernel with FlashTool. Many of the threads in the dev section do a good job of quickly running through the steps.
I used NUT's 4.4.2 pre-rooted ROM.

It is our blessing and our curse. Whether it is the chip or a combination of our different chip and locked bootloader, there is no way to root the SM-T807V just yet, or should I say I have not seen a way to root it without tripping Knox.
The only reason it can't be rooted is because of the locked bootloader.
Kingroot is the only option for locked devices at the moment, but only works on kitkat.

I hate to disagree with you but I tried to use Kingroot on KitKat 4.4.2 and it did not work. I tried both the PC version of Kingroot and the OTA version with no luck on KitKat.

I didn't say kingroot would definitely work. I said Verizon devices can't be rooted because of the locked bootloader, but kingroot only works on kitkat devices. Nobody here has had success on lollipop yet.

Fair enough. The reason I perhaps responded in the manner I did was because in another thread Ihad someone tell me that the locked bootloader made no difference and that Kingroot would work with the locked bootloader. Well as I keep saying Kingroot did not work with the locked bootloader regardless if I tried it on Kit Kat or Lollipop. Ieven tried it again last night and I keep getting the message screen telling me it failed but research info was sent with the picture of an envelope. I guess it also claims that they have received over 10k updates with info regarding devices on which it has not worked.

How to root Xperia Z3+ dual (E6533)? My phone has unlocked bootloader and currently running on android 5.0.2.
I was just browsing for Rooting methods, For Most of Xperia's, Kingroot works on rooting 5.0 version.
Try it out.

What differences have you noticed with the single chip version concerning development, unlocking, etc? I want this phone, but can't find the single sim version in Brazil
Beware while unlocking bootloader. The my Xperia app must be deactivated before unlocking. See Google for details
Hello all, I picked up an N900A for a great price, didn't know about the locked bootloader, I assumed it would be the same as the T-Mobile one I used to have. No dice. I'd just like to know what the latest version is that can be rooted.
I don't need custom ROMs or any of that jazz...I always end up modding the crap out of them and changing everything so it's pointless for me to flash somebody else's preferences and tweaks I probably won't agree with anyway. I just need root, SuperSU, busybox, and xposed support.
Right now I'm on NC2 4.4.2 which is decent but I need Lollipop to run some apps I use. A few of them don't support Kitkat anymore.
Any advice would be appreciated

I'd like to know how to root as well. My n900a is on 5.0 and I've seen nothing but bad news on these forums...
It really isn't that difficult http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=59666958&postcount=2
You can root 5.0, but it has to be either a pre-rooted 5.0 Rom or you have to downgrade to Kitkat, then root and install 5.0. But you can't root if your already on 5.0.
