[Q] what is the reason that i cant install any OTA updates??

everytime I get a software update of jellybean like when i had got 4.3 or the latest one which is another update ...i cant install it via OTA..have to manually download always..!! any reason for that?? why i cant install??? i download the update, start the installation,phone reboots and then starts normally and then a error that cannot install this software something..
Why no one replies me i need help plz...!!!

Im sure, you must have Unlocked bootloader or root in your device

try manually flashing via flashtool
uncheck the wipe data box

Can you give us little more informations? Did you root your phone? Did you unlock your bootloader?

Guys, he speaks about official OTA updates (Over The Air), did you read OP first?

I understand, but this happened to me before, it was because I have rooted my device. Try installing from PC with PC Companion

I unlocked my bootloader without saving the TA partition, and because of that I cannot to OTA updates.

I have AT&T D950 and THERES an update available for my phone so far my phone has DL it twice and everythime its booted me to TWRP and bootlooped on me
Updates ony like 147MB
My question is what the latest Software out for Flex on ATT i have b
Can someone upload the UPDATED FILES for D950. So i can flash it b4 i root and inatall RECOVERY

I have then i get ' Your Phone not Registered' and when it comes Registered it jus Bootloops bc of the update
This is why i wanted to know if anyone knew update orders and whats the most current update (b) ?
And if someone could throw theses UPDATES out there on a zipfile

Okay you need a new sim card from att. Get one put it in your phone and factory reset it should work after that. The lgtool seems to mess up the sim card when restoring to factory. That should fix you up it did for me and 3 other lg phones ive owned.

What's your baseband?

you can download the new update at http://www.htc.com/us/support/htc-desire-510-boost/news/ ..... there are manually Installation instructions. i have not did this yet but if you do it right , you should be good to go. food for thought, you may have to flash stock back up to make this update happen and then re-flash back to your posion of choice ..... and yes the update would stick

yes you have to have a pc . Download the program and just follow the guide. Should be very simple . But you do need stock to get this update. After you are done flash back or just restore back-up

I checked the link and it is the old update from 12.17.2014 or 1.47.652.1. I couldn't find the newest update or anything from 2015 at all on the HTC site anywhere. I received the update today, 1.48.652.2 (30.68MB), but after it downloaded, restarted and tried to install, it gave me a red triangle with an exclamation point in the middle. Has anyone else seen this? (My bootloader is locked and I fully wiped my phone and sdcard before installing the Boost stock RUU so nothing should be interfering) I contacted HTC and they walked me through some steps to fix it, but eventually they told me to contact Boost. I didn't contact them yet, but Boost Zone says the system updates on my phone are up to date.

When i try to install the update it takes me to recovery and when i try to flash the update
I get an error...and i flashed stock rom but when i use ruu installer i get security fail update fail.
Can someone help.

My phone fails when I try to install the update, also. Is your bootloader locked? If it is unlocked, the RUU update will fail.

I wouldn't bother. I contacted HTC and Boost Mobile and they both said there is nothing they can do about it. I think some of us have to wait until 1.48.652.2 is actually on HTCs site and good to go to download. For now all I see is 1.47.652.1. I wonder why some people can download it perfectly and others can't. I even tried to manually install it through the stock recovery. It downloads to the Download folder and I thought it had to be on the root of the sdcard. I moved it to the root of my internal sdcard and tried to install and it failed. I used the "OTA_A11_CHL_K44_DESIRE_SENSE60_Sprint_WWE_VM_1.48.652.2-1.47.652.1_R_release_420824qapx9dhr8n40gasg.zip" name and even renamed it to update.zip like other HTC phones use. I extracted the recovery.img and tried to flash, thinking it would help for some reason, with no success. I tried all I can do with my knowledge on this subject. Either one of the geniuses on this site can help or we'll have to wait.

Red Triangle 10% into 1.48.652.2 on Boost. On stock locked 1.47.652.1.. Is this the Lolipop update? cause if it isn't i don't care about it. :silly:

Tried installing on fresh RUU on Boost mobile. Update fails everytime. I looked into the update zip. For 30 mbs its got a lot of stuff in it. It updates most of the system apps as well as gapps. also theres some new certs getting installed. Maybe its a prep update.

No it's not Lollipop, just security enhancements and bug fixes. I contacted HTC and Boost and there is nothing they can do at the moment about our problems with updating. I think we just have to wait until Lollipop comes out and they release an official RUU.

You can do the ota updat without stock rom if you not use custom rom
First Relock the bootloader
Extract the files from ota updat you ll find firmwar.zip
Take the firmwar.zip and flash the phone like RUU
Restare the phone
Apply the ota
Thats all
After you can unloock the bootloader and flash recovery

He isn't asking to do an OTA he's asking for a specific rom most likely because his got messed up so none of anything you just suggested pertains to his question!!!

i was thinking he want to back to stok rom to apply the new updat .
I have pure stock bakup of my 510 rogers i don't know if it ll help or no ,so if it help i can upload it .

You should upload that somewhere because there's not one available for the HTC Desire 510 the one I did find the link didn't work anymore.

If you can upload somewhere that will be great and helpful, I believe not just me need it. By the way, my radio: 1.101.1372.19.0822 and OS: 1.11.631.2.
My Phone stopped on HTC logo after update the system through the phone, I tried to use RUU to flash many ROM and it didn't work, I found out later this phone's CID is Rogers so I think the stock ROM will work if I use RUU to flash it.

Finally I got my phone works again. Thank you all guys.
I downloaded Samy6699's firmware and backup, flashed firmware first then restored Samy6699's backup file by using TWRP.
After reboot I got the phone worked with Samy6699's data, even the screen lock gesture was also shown up, so I rebooted the phone to boot loader and did the factory reset, ok my phone was reborn like new. As long as I connected to the Wi-Fi I got system update reminder. After proceeded to install the update, my phone fully recovered with newest system update running now.
Thanks again. I'm a happy man after couple weeks struggling to numerous failing attempts.

Two... If use twrp backup. Only u can flash system partion . So if have different boot maybe it bootloop... If flash boot then u break wifi ). So that problem i think u should stay on lower security

Sorry no, ask Hikary maybe he can help and or guide you. My device is one of the first unofficial unlock.
