hi guys,
i have searched the galaxy s forums for information on this phone but couldnt get much..
i would like to know if it's possible and how to root the phone, and flash custom roms, as i really wanna get rid of the bloatwares..
can i just apply those methods/roms of i9000 on this phone then?
i come from other android model and know about clockworkmod recovery, but this odin stuff is new to me..
fyi, the phone is the china telecom cdma/gsm dual-band model..

[Q] URGENT need rom GT-S5839i please

Hello, Sorry for my English I'm french.
I've bricked my GT-S5869i but I don't have rom to flash with odin can you upload a rom for this device please it's urgent, Monday I have a school trip at 5 am.

try to ask in sammobile forum as thats where all sammy rom is posted, maybe u'll have better luck there.
the GT-S5839i is a rare i assume, googling for it doesnt bring any info at all :/

Go here:SamFirmware and select your region, then choose the latest rom.
Choose your rom and flash with ODIN.

What is this gt-s5839i I have never heard of it?!

Edited my original post. does 0 really look like 9 ??

i think he typed that correctly, it really is s5839i. maybe its just another variant of s5830i.
heres a thread where someone asked howto network unlock the said model number

haha what are the chances of all those being typo's
must be really rare, there's hardly anything with a google search.
Your going to have to take it to a service centre(say kies crashed when updating) Your phone model is really rare.
Looks like you wont have it for monday

Good morning. I had the same problem with this mobile phone gt-s5839i. It is not a typo I own this device and I succeeded rooting and flashing it. The only ROM I found was from Poland(Tmobile and Orange) and it works! Here you can find the ROMS : (I cannot post the URL but you find it at tsar3000 site)And I noticed now that a Spanish rom popped up! goog for you! You can flash it with Odin 1.83. It works!!! Good luck

ahhh i have exactly the same problem but also when i try and flash the files from that site it fails at writing to the nand even if i try to put the f/w on phone instead of pda it fails
any help is greatly appreciated as now the phone is a door stop

samsung galaxy ace gt-s5839i...that phone is fresh from UK

samsung s5830i- s5360

Problem is that first time root and after flashing new rom is phone ****ed up. No more rom changes, and conecting usb cabel to kies looks phone name gt s5360

Sorry for little info, rom called zgreed.
I had used search, but my inglish is verry bad, and understanding some things are not as it cold be. For prevented another bad steps i preffer to ask.
Right now thing is that sd card is empti(made wipe data or something- by reading might help) so all bad and help needed

If so just flash original frimware via Odin 1.85/1.84. Use the search bar. Its there for a reason.

Help Needed

Hi There,
I got a Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 , the phone is already rooted with android version 4.0.3 but the problem is the baseband and imei is unknown.
When insert sim card it doesnt recognise it. I didnt have the EFS backup with me. Please Help..

The last time that happened to me was with my Galaxy s2 : /
It was a corrupted efs folder... - Maybe you could research that?
Im sorry to say that the phone was bricked, and it was not possible to fix it.. : /

Do you have original box/bill that contains you imei? Or if you have noted your number, try this

Before doing anything, once pull out battery for few minutes,and reinsert and check whether it appears back.

He doesnt need to have the original box does he? - The imei-number should also be found inside the phone when he pulls out the battery?

if these suggestions dont do the trick you are going to have Samsung repair it . That or use a service from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22983688&postcount=26 I read that some users had their emei fixed by him.
Only if above mentioned methods dont work, and if you dont want it fixed, you can find a rom with efs.img and flash it throught pc odin, with check clear efs then you get imei 4900, its generic test emei. In some countries it is blocked for service, so if you have to travel, or if country decides to block it, you need to get it fixed anyway.

[Q] CWM Help on Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830D!

Okay, so I have a Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830D. I have been looking around for a working version of CWM for my Ace. I haven't had much luck.
I did however find a post, and I would like to know if I could flash the CWM via Odin to my GT-S5830D. I don't want to brick my phone.

recovery method is much more easier n safe

Ohh, I see. The problem now is that I can't find the correct version of CWM for the GT-S5830D. Can you maybe help me with that?

Thanks ALOT!!!!!!!! I finally got the recovery working. Can you maybe help me with another question?
I want to get a custom rom that is compatible with the GT-S5830D. I cant find any.
Also, can you tell me about a rom that is good in looks, and in speed. I dont want the rom to get slow, I want a fast rom that looks really good and clean.

Hi My dear,
I need a big support from you.
I have the same phone with me Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830D. Network Provider: Koodo from Canada. It was lock and I tried unlocking phone using adb shell but didn't work properly. I did changes to bml file. before I do the changes adb shell detected my phone and after I did the changes adb shell not detecting my phone. Only Odin is detecting and can go to download mode only. no recovery mode.
It has boot looping problem. My request is please send me a copy of your phone EFS file to my e-mail [email protected]
Hope I can restore it by using oding. If you have any idea about how to recover my phone other than above please help me. I really appreciate

I would definitly share cwm if my phone works. unluckly my phone also gone worng. If i found a link i will forward u sure... keep in touch. check whether it is possible to find efs file and post it please..
