[Q] Slimkat home button answers call - Galaxy S Advance I9070 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello all. I flashed Slimkat for for my i9070, final version. It is the best rom which I tested. I miss possibility answer call with home button. Option is missing in the setting menu. In another roms there is option Setting->Accessiblity->Home key answers the call.
Please is it possible to set this option in Slimkat by editing some system files?

I am not on SlimKat, so can't help you about settings. But you can try this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cb56.answercalleasy
Try to see is it that option on any other SlimKat, because it should be the same for every phone.

Than you for reply. I have already tried thin program and program didn't work. I will try to find some another program.

[Official] LANIGHT for Captivate Q&A

I decided to create a new thread solely for Q/A and for people who are exeriencing issues running LANIGHT. Many issues can be solved by flashing different kernel/patch/fix/modem or going back to stock.
Try flashing DarkyRom RE: http://www.darkyrom.com/index.php?th...aptivate.6062/ (Captivate guide)
Then flash JB on it with proper instructions.
When an application crashes I get the option to close it or report the crash. When I click to report the crash it then says that the Play Store crashed. Is there a fix for this?
Still have ringtone issue
I installed 6.5 dd and all went well, but I still have the disappearing ringtone issue. Tried the fix and didn't work. I came from 4.2 dd. Any comments on how to try to fix this? This ROM is great.

Did you try flashing semaphore or flashing the rom with a complete wipe? People reported flashing the different kernel sometimes fixes it... Not sure if it's kernel related which is highly unlikely.
I ran the rom with no issues. I remember it was an issues back in 4.2DD but it was gone when i applied the fix... Not everyone that flashed reported that issue maybe that's why i never got serious about it.
Lockscreen wallpaper image?
is there a way to set a different wallpaper image to the lockscreen?
I can't seem to find this option in the Lanigh 6.5 rom.

Same here, but I have to confess that I made a dirty flash wiping dalvik cache only. I'll try to make a full wipe to see what happens.

I followed instructions from the OP, full wipe 3 times...format individual system/data/datadata/cache/dalvik. Haven't tried semaphore, I like devil ever since team nyx's 4.0.3. With this ROM I have never had wifi issues, since v1. Besides the disappearing ringtones, gallery pictures also disappear just leaving online pics...no FC though. I use quikpic so no biggie.

No luck. Actually it it's worse, since before flashing I had access to standard ringtones, those that come with the ROM, but not those which I created by myself. After flashing, all ringtones disappeared. Tried with the ringtones patch, but also no luck.
Next step, it's to find semaphore and flash new kernel. Any clue where I can download it?
Another repeating issue that occurs to me is the FC in the messages app.
EDIT: I've foud Semaphore and flashed it with Odin. I couldn't check if it solved the ringtone issue, since after apply this kernel, I had two severe issues: my screen rotated 90° to the right and the external-sd was not recognized. I've cleared cache, dalvik, fixed permissions and no luck.
Going back to 4.2 by now.

Loving the ROM so far. Finally decided that I don't need most of the customization options offered by other JB roms. however, I do miss the battery percentage. Any way to enable that, maybe through a theme or app?
EDIT: sneaky ba$terds, hiding it in the display options.... Looks awesome now. Found a new fav daily driver!
I installed new devil kernes 1.7.4VC and did not loose sound as others are posting. I wiped cache / dalvik & reboot recovery.
P.S. version 1.7.5 fixes the sound accourding the kernel thread.

I think this must be a common issue, I fixed this by plugging into my pc and safely removing the sd card. but next day same thing .?. I tried to apply a different lockscreen image and it wouldnt load images in gallery .?.

In a week ive took a Captivate i897 from stock froyo 2.2 to cwmR to Devil kernel 1.6.1 <- which I really like. I first installed CM10 and was satisfied but got to reading around and flashed LAnight 6.5 DD last night (the proper way explained on thread). only played with it for a few hours and loved its speed. But today ran into problem with changing lock screen background image to custom image.
** is there a permanent fix for this, i dont always have my pc with me.
--Also noticed in both CM10 and LAnight 6.5DD, I can only turn on Bluetooth, is there a way to configure it like settings menu in stock froyo .?.
*edit, figured it out, long press WiFi or Bluetooth opens sub menu for settings, DuH. Im a Android Newb.

You don't need to download Devil kernel manager if you don't want to. It's somewhere in the settings (different Lanight versions have it hidden in different places...).
Probably, under settings -> developer options
Or settings -> extras
Or settings -> tvout
Or there's a galaxy s app...
Maybe there are more places I hid it in different versions lol I had to move things and its as unorganized as my rom thread :/

Very weird problem when on lanlight (or any JB rom)
I installed V6.5DD using the exact method you wrote on the OP. I was coming from CM9, it booted up correctly and everything works great except three things: 1) i have no lock screen (it is checked) 2) I don't get any notifications, whatsoever(i can pull it down, but i hear an email or sms come in and nothing appears) 3) when i hold the home button the recent apps don't show.
I formatted everything again and re flashed, same exact problem.
What should i do? everything worked well on cm9
please help if you can.
I installed different JB roms and none worked.
I decided to go back to CM9, and guess what? none of those thing i outlined works.
It looks i have to odin back to stock. Can anyone please help me
sincerely,
Thatguy

I think this option is available in developer options. I am not sure though it is available in aosp or aokp roms.

ummmmmmm
i know what you mean
i'll tell you the way
1- put usb in your mobile and connect it to the commuter
2- from your mobile choose devolp mood
and when you inter that mood
just put tik in long press to kill
generaly it depend on developers of rom. I know that some dont allow this. If you can, you can choose it at developer section.

[FAQ][CM10.1/10.2/11][Galaxy S III Mini][GT-I8190]

Hi people,
I hope this can help those who ask some common questions in all threads or just don't read the OP or the OP hasn't Q&A, so let's start.
Q: How to install/update Cyanogenmod roms?
A: Follow this tutorial.
Q: Where can I find Gapps?
A: Here, here, here or here. For light gapps go here.
Q: How to enable the developer options?
A: Settings>About phone> click 7 times on build number.
Q: How to enable advanced reboot?
A: Go to: System settings->Developer options->Advanced reboot.
Q: Advanced reboot doesn't work for me. Any solution?
A: Yes, take a look here (3 Button Combo).
Q: Where can I find the latest baseband for I8190, I8190N or I8190L?
A: Here.
Q: After installing CM rom I have no signal. Any solution?
A: Here (Pit file & Modem folder).
Q: What is the Panda application (CM10.2)?
A: It's for saving battery, it disable one core & sets the governor to ondemand.
Q: I have the "1Ghz bug", how to fix it?
A: Reboot the device with wifi off. If for some reason still doesn't work change the governor & the scheduler to Pegasusq + Sio or Deadline. You can also try this app, it will solve your problem permanently, for sure.
Q: How to enable softkeys haptic feedback?
A: Softkeys haptic feedback is disabled by default. You need to follow this tutorial to enable it.
Q: How to enable automatic brightness?
A: Download this app.
Q: After install CM11 my clock froze! Any solution?
A: Uninstall Lockclock.apk from system apps or try that:
- Keep the phone plugged on charger/pc
- Keep mobile data (3G/2G) on
- Keep wifi on
Q: How to disable the buttons backlight?
A: Go to system settings-buttons-backlight & uncheck "Illuminate buttons".
If don't work for you, download BLN control from Google Play Store, here.
Q: I installed CM10.1/CM10.2/CM11 rom but I can't find radio fm app. Any solution?
A: Yes. Download Spirit FM Free from here.
Do that only if it doesn't work with the default settings:
1 - If you are in Europe: Settings->Band->World... (Anyone).
2 - Settings->Audio->Method->Galaxy S3/Note/S2_ICS.
Q: How to enable the pie controls & navigation buttons?
A: First you need a file explorer, then add this line qemu.hw.mainkeys=0 to /system/build.prop & reboot the phone to activate the on screen buttons (Navigation Bar). Then go to Settings>System>Power menu>Expanded desktop & activate it & then you will see pie control in the Settings>System menu.
Q: I want to try other kernel, but I can't because of F2FS. What can I do?
A: Take a look here & here.
Q: How to keep Xposed Framework installed after update the rom?
A: Read this.
Q: Where can I find amazing themes for TWRP recovery?
A: Here, here & here.
Q: How can I help the development of any ROM?
A: Not with, "+1", "FC", "me too", "same bug here", blablabla. These comments are USELESS.
Q: So, how can I really help?
A: Simple. Remember doing this you're helping the developer & yourself, you're intelligent, so you understand what I'm saying, right!?!
Do that in the right ROM thread:
Phone model:
Baseband version:
ROM version:
Did you?
wipe:
restore with titanium backup:
reboot after having the issue:
Are you using?
a task killer:
the kernel (boot.img) in the zip or other:
Settings/Performance settings (other than default):
What steps will reproduce the problem?
But the most important thing is this: attach a LOGCAT of the problem.
Q: Ok nice, but I’m noob & I don’t know how to LOGCAT, where can I learn?
A: Here, here or stop being lazy & search in XDA forums.

First of all, thank you for reading. Regarding your question, it only works on cm roms.
Anytime! Imho, you've provided useful info which is worth to know if you're an owner of a custom I8190.
I've totally failed the topic at the 1st place here, but I've checked out this hidden menu after I've flashed Maclaw's CM 10.2 and it's really a must have option. Now I remember it again!
..but what I didn't knew was that in here, in dev options existed that function which I was always seeking for; the advanced reboot, which lets you decide what to boot. For example, the recovery.
This is a really nice thing to use on CM. It can save you a bit of time and your 3 button combo fingerprints
I would add this 'advanced reboot/boot to recovery' thingy to the FAQ. I find it interesting and useful :silly:
Thanks.

Because those are not implement in rom. And that is a port, used rom from another device. If developer of original rom make those, developer from our device that made that port will port it again.

usb debugging - gui enable/disable doesn't actually disable it.
running ev_passion-nightly-2014.08.17-squished.zip on nexus one
I can't get usb debugging to actually not work, using the settings in the Developer options menu.
I can modify the settings in the gui successfully, and while that determines if the notification about USB debugging occurs, it's doesn't actually stop USB debugging from working ... I can run "adb shell", and get a root shell regardless of whether the developer options are turned off at the top level, or if I turn off just the specific option of USB debugging.
Not a big problem until someone steals my phone.

i have installed the release build 2013.12.13 on my nexus one. i also tried 2014.08.17 and 2014.11.22 but always got the "call delay bug". So if i answer a call (mostly) i have to wait about 5-10 second till anybody can hear something. if i start a call, no problem.
i think this bug is known, but i don't know how to fix this. would be very nice if i could fix the only problem with this rom .
