[Q] Customize Lockscreen? - X 2014 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just got the Moto X from Verizon (white/bamboo), but having come from an S3, I can't figure out if there is a way in which to customize the lockscreen so that I can see weather and other information simply by touching/waving my hand over the screen without having to unlock the phone? Any advice is greatly appreciate.

You need to turn on Enable widgets. The option is in Settings -> Security.
After that on the lock screen, swipe downward on the clock widget, it will expand it to fullscreen. Then you can tap and hold on the clock to drag and remove it. After that, it will let you add other widgets. You can swipe to the right go to a second page and add more widgets.

I believe that the OP wants to see the info on the active display screen, not the lockscreen.
If it is the same as toe 2013 X you can go to settings and choose which apps you want to see notifications from on the active display.
Only notifications can be displayed on the active display, not widgets.
Waving your hand over the phone activates the active display.

Sena case - Can't clear notification bar. Any apps?

Tried a dozen cases and finally settled on the sena case magnet flipper. The only issue is not being able to scroll down from the notification screen to clear calls or updates etc. The top of the case is too low.
Is there a desktop app that can do this?
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
If you have adw launcher installed just make a custom shortcut long press on a home screen with real estate -> custom shortcut -> pick your activity -> launcher actions ->open/close notifications.
Then just tap that icon on your home screen and the notification bar should open.
That would work, but you would have to be at a homepage, and with adw you can swipe down anywhere on the home page to open notifications anyway...
I think you can assign different actions to open notifications but i'm not sure how you would get them to work when away from the homepage. Adw will let you assign the home button to open notifications, etc, so that may work.
There are also some tablet tweaks that let you move the notification bar to the bottom of the screen...
Actually danger the swipe down action is another option but it's not default you have to enable it and you can make it do more than just open the notification bar. adw settings -> general behavior -> swipe down action.
That's awesome guys! Been struggling for months and all the cases (with front covers) hide the notifications bar or come down too low. In CM, went to settings / adwlauncher / general behavior / swipe down actions / open/close notifications.
Now can swipe on the homescreen to bring down the notification bar and clear it
Thanks!

[Q] Make the power button open active notifications instead of the lockscreen?

Currently active notifications runs along side the lock screen. I'd much rather use active notifications as my lock screen so that i can still see any notifications i have.
I'm not sure its possible. On my X I had lock screen set to none. So I didn't have a lock screen. But if memory serves...hitting power would bring me straight to my launcher.
But, you always see active notification screen as soon as you pick up the phone anyway. Lock screen or not.

Lock screen notification

Hi, is there any way to control what notifications appear on the lock screen? It's now either show or don't show at all (without a password).
Basically what I'd like is for notifications icons to still show on the lock screen status bar, but not show the notifications on the lock screen itself. I used to be able to do this on Kitkat.
On that note, any way to add lockscreen widgets?
Thanks.
Anyone?
Do you want to hide the notification information? You can check the option for "hide sensitive notification content" and it will just show the application name. I don't know how the phone decides what is sensitive, but you can also block notification content on a per-app basis. The results would look like the image below. The lockscreen statusbar is not meant to hold notifications. You can change the lockscreen to something else, but widgets seem to have vanished.

Lollipop 5.0.1 Tips

I figured I'd start a thread to share tips and tricks moving over to LP 5.0.1
Haven't found a way to add icons to Lock Screen other then Call & Camera yet BUT..
If your like me and really don't like the use of LP's Home button I downloaded "Screen Off and Unlock" from play store, now when I press and hold Home the screen goes off/sleep, it still goes to Google Now if you double hit Home...
1) If you want to use Do Not Disturb (DND), setting the toggle to on will keep DND on all the time. Setting just a schedule (and keeping the toggle off) will only activate DND during the scheduled time.
Alternatively, you can use the app called Do Not Disturb, which, IMO, works better than the default one. Plus, you can set multiple schedules!
2) if you're like me and hate how the new lockscreen notifications show everything that appears in your notification panel, and only shows the first 2 notifications (before you have to expand them all), then look at NiLS on Play. It mimics the LP lockscreen notifications, but you can choose what notifications to show or hide. And you can theme them too.

Question How to show notifications on lock screen? Realme 8

First sorry for my English. I checked all the apps to see that they are allowed to show notifs on lock screen. I checked Privacy settings, notifications settings, basically I checked everything what's needs to be done but i still can't see notifications on lock screen. Please Help...
It's in Always-On Display I think. Keep in mind you'll get small icons at best. If you want normal Android notifications, you need to get rid of the ColorOS lock screen. I think it's com.coloros.onekeylockscreen.

Swipe up on lock screen too view notifications. If you want pop up notification on lock screen then go to settings> notification and status bar> and then toggle off pull down on lock screen for notifications.
