I want to be able to continue to use the stock messaging app and still be able to use group messaging. When a group message gets long this stupid message always shows when reentering the message thread. I have searched forever and can't figure out how to disable these kinds of messages. I would be eternally grateful for help. Thanks!!

In your messaging app's settings there should be an option under multimedia for MMS Alert. Uncheck that option.

I figure there has to be a way to stop those type of popups, I just can't figure it out. Mine has always done it regardless of the fw I am on.
You could always use the xposed module EnhancedToast. That'll let you create filters.
Oh I love you! Thanks that worked perfectly! !

Ok this is a modified Mms.apk with 5mb send/receive limit and also 2560x1920 picture resolution send/receive. I hated being sent high res pics and only being able to save them at 640x480...
you need to go into the Mms settings and under "Custom User-Agent" select "Custom" then enter any name you want for the custom user agent... You might need to restart the messaging app, but I tested it and was able to save at full 2560x1920 ...
I'm going to post the modded Mms as an update.zip to flash with clockwordmod.
It's only been tested on froyo.
you might need to clear messaging data...
settings>applications>manage applications>All>messaging>clear data
let me know if it works for you...
Sorry for the noobness but how do I get to the mms settings? Im using the VIPER froyo rom.

make sure it flashed correctly...
make sure you are in the all threads screen in the messaging app. then hit the menu soft key and go into settings. you need to scroll down, it's towards the bottom... in fact if you scroll all the way down in the settings menu the "custom user-agent" settings will be in the top of the screen...
Hope this helps...

did you clear data and change the custom user-agent settings?
also try flashing it again or use the sdx stock app remover to push it and replace the current Mms.apk.

I just noticed that my phone doesn't vibrate and play the notification tone on sms with this mms.apk.
I checked the vibrate always option in the settings.
Can someone else with this mms mod please chime in? I am wondering if this is the culprit.

Hi there...
I received my Nexus 6 yesterday, cut down my micro sim and BOOM good to go! I have had no problems at all until today. My wife tried to send me a couple of pictures today and they continue to fail when downloading. Anyone else having trouble receiving MMS on Verizon?

Make sure your APN settings are correct. I also recommend using Textra over hangouts or anything else out there

I don't believe you can. You can turn off the stock messaging app but if you use a variety of messaging app then it will ask you which one you want to use and ask you if you want to use one always or just once. That is normal.
Has anyone tried the debloatung program over at the at&t note 4 threads?

I'm pretty sure you're going to need root to use that method.
No root required to disable apps. However, to remove them, then the phone needs to be rooted.

Subject line of the thread linked says Root not required, but sure!
Tried it out just now, thanks for linking it @blkghost22, I've been trying to find a way to disable certain things and this did it!
Stock Music app sometimes comes up when I connect my phone to the car via Bluetooth, and there wasn't any easy way to disable it
I also recommend going to Filter, typing ATT, and disabled all that crap too - I've done everything except Knox, Remote Support, and Usage manager.... someone needs to come up with a safe list of apps to disable to debloat this device, it would be very helpful!
Will this let me disable stuff like the built in browser? Because there are some aid that the phone just won't let you disable which I find really dumb.

It should, I don't know the title of it from an APK or package standpoint (I know it's called Internet, but I can't find it searching right now), but once you find it, you can disable it
EDIT - SBrowser is the name of it

Okay, I can't read. I'm sending thanks X 2 to Charlotte, NC.
I'm at 55 apps disabled so far, and I don't think I'm being all that aggressive with disabling TW / Samsung / ATT features..... Anyone know of a good safe list for this phone yet where we can really speed this thing up? Not like it really needs it, but there's lots of hidden crap on it running we know about but haven't been able to disable previously

Honestly, and I appreciate you looking to me for advice, I don't think I'm the best one to go off of, I know that nothing I've disabled was going to crash my phone, but it's all that TW / Samsung / ATT features like I was saying - the program allows you to filter by text used, even if in the middle of a package name, and that helped a few times tracking down some odd APKs
I read on Forbes that the S6 has 56 apps of bloatware on it, and I'm at 55 disabled apps, with a lot of TW / Samsung / ATT features still running, so most likely that was a list of what they could see from the app drawer or something....
Nothing from me. Just wanted to see if people actually tried it. If it worked then go thank the dev or programmer of that debloating app.

Hi, enable edge lighting for the messaging app. When new message arrived, try to pull down the notification. Then it will open the messaging app in a pop-up window, after that you may minimize the window into chat head.
