Hello.
I have a problem with my phone: I install MIUI 6 (doesn't matter what version), I set it up with restore, it runs ok till the first manual reboot. Then it gets blocked at the black "MI"screen. Won't enter in the OS. Any methods to determine the culprit? Maybe taking a log (how to do that?) It gets kinda annoying to flash the zip again and again everytime I do a reboot.
Thank you.

dot restore, just go for a fresh clean install,
if that also doesn't work, then simply go for fast boot method

I have lots of apps and it would take me ages to manually install them all. Back-up and restore from MIUI is my savior.
I also have Xposed Framework, that requires a reboot after install. That reboot works. First I thought it was xposed's fault, but I guess if it would have been that the phone won't start after the reboot it required. Same thing happens with wsm.
Don't install xposed ..
(I had same problem)
Clean install miui 6 once again

Same problem meaning your phone won't boot after a while or right after installing Xposed?
I really don't get it. For example, i just clean installed MIUI, restored the apps, installed Xposed + modules and I can do as many restarts as I want, it will boot every single time. The problem appears after a while, I guess starting tomorrow morning it will get screwed up again, although I won't install any apps or anything in the meanwhile.

Hello,
I am a noob trying to install a rom with aroma installer. But now it has been stuck at the page where it says: The installation wizard has successfully installed *********. Press next to exit.
What do i do? Power off?
Is it definitely stuck? Aroma doesn't always recognise touch events very accurately, and I usually have to tap the "next" button a few times before it registers. Failing that, if it's finished installing whatever you flashed, you should be fine to reboot manually anyway.
Yes,i have tried to push the next button many times but nothing happens. It has been like this for 30 minutes now. The successfully installed text appeared very fast, a second or two maybe after the previous screen. So if it has installed the rom, it was def a fast install.
Anyway, is it safe to try to reboot, even if it was in the middle of the install? Rebot to recovery and try again?
Well, there certainly isn't anything else to be done besides rebooting. I don't know what you were trying to install - if it was a several-hundred-MB ROM, as most things that use Aroma are, you would expect it to take a while. Smaller things can be flashed very quickly. If it _did_ go wrong somewhere, there are a few things:
1. What recovery, and what version thereof, are you using?
2. Did you wipe data before using the installer?
3. Most of all, what were you trying to install? There might be some known issue with certain configurations.
I wouldn't necessarily expect a working OS when you reboot, depending on what you were trying to install and how badly things went wrong, but you should be able to get back into recovery easily enough.
Thank you for your quick reply.
1. I use the CWM recovery in this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1914394 thread, not the newest, but 5.5 something i believe.
2. Yes, wiped all data + dalvik.
3. I was trying to install rXTREME on my SGS III lte i9305.
I've rebooted now, and everything works perfect as the phone was before i tried to do the install. No brick. I also tried to flash it one more time, but stuck at the same place again. Rebooted fine at stock rom again. Maybe i should take this as a hint that someone else should be put at the steering wheel..
EDIT: forgot link above
Found out what the problem was.
In Aroma Installer i selected EFS backup both times. The third time i tried i did not do this. And everything went fine. Runs smooth.

So, I have an old droid x with the CM 11 rom on it and for some reason I can't get xposed to work now. I had to flash my rom again cause I got soft bricked after trying some status bar mod and now it won't work at all. I had it installed the first time and it was working with the snapshare module, but now all I get is the "framework not installed." I've tried installing but whenever i reboot I get soft bricked so I have to flash the rom again.

Tried that, it installs but when I reboot I get soft bricked. I'm out of ideas other than to completely SBF back to original rom and flash all over again. I feel something may be corrupt. Is there an xposed folder somewhere on my phone that may be causing an error?

I only attempted to load Xposed on my DX for the first time today and couldn't get it to install, but I worked past the soft brick by booting into recovery and re-flashing my system ROM and gapps. (cwm-11-2014-0817-UNOFFICIAL-shadow.zip)
I tried flashing from TWRP and received the following message:
E:Error executing updater binary in zip '/sdcard/cwm-Xposed.Framework.Installer.v.2.4.1.zip'
I made a backup this time and I'll see if I can figure out what's wrong.

I spent some time troubleshooting this evening, checked logs while attempting to flash, and found that the main issue was that the installer script thought that /system/ was at 100% capacity (0MB free). I disabled USB debugging (menu, settings, developer options, USB debugging) and was able to flash through TWRP. After rebooting, the Xposed Installer showed a newer version was available, so I used the app to install it without any problems. I installed a few modules and rebooted. Titanium Backup wanted me to switch USB debugging back on, so I did. Everything seems to be working (including XPrivacy).
Reminder: Make a full backup from recovery before *AND* after you get it working. Make sure you copy the backup to your computer in case you have to wipe the phone.
I hope this helps!

Thanks, I got it to work finally.. I've been trying for 2 weeks now so it feels quite rewarding.
I have rooted my phone and installed the CWM ROM Manager app, but every time I try and reboot in recovery, or install ROM from SD card in the menu the phone restarts shows the android and then crashes, I then turn on the phone agian and it boots into 'Android System recovery <3e>'
What am I doing wrong?
On this phone you can install cwm using ROM manager. You will need to use a kernel that has cwm recovery. Eg. Philz kernel.

Thanks nokiamodeln91, I used PhilZ-cwm6-XXLTA-ATL-5.15.0.tar.md5 and that seems to have worked, for Nightowl-cm13-beta3-n7000 ROM.......though I do get a yellow warning triangle under the Samsung logo when I turn the phone on, but it boots up into Nightowl after a little delay.
Though I'm now having a little trouble finding a Gapps that works with this ROM, if someone could point me in the right direction?
I tried making one with on The Open GApps Project ARM/6.0/full, but it didn't work (should have taken a note of the error message), and then tried "BaNkS-Dynamic-GApps-6.x.x-10-20-15" that one installed but keeped looking a error message about apps that had stopped working.
OK just tried to install the micro Gapps recommended on the [ROM][CM13][Marshmallow][Android 6.0.1] NightOwl 20160510 thread
install, then when the phone boots up I get

popping up one after the other.
May be you should try a clean install on ROM followed by micro open gapps in one go. Bigger gapps won't install due to space limitations of system partition.

I had the same problem. Solution is provided in http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/help/problems-gapps-cm13-t3258915 and that worked for me:
Go to Settings, Apps , select "Show system apps" in menu at the top , scroll to and tap "Setup wizard", "Permissions" and turn all permissions on (Contacts and Phone).
This may take a while as you have to do this while the error messages keep popping up. Put your gaming skills to work to benefit from those spare moments there are no error messages and you can interact with the phone.
Update: this got rid of the setup wizard messages. I still had problems with the Google play services that would not go away. In the end the solution was to wipe the entire internal SD card (/sdcard0) and not only system, cache, data. I then installed both the CM13 and GApps in one go. After the initialisation phase no error messages popped up. So the answer to the problem may also be: wipe everything (to prevent some old data files interfering with the new install) and install CM13 + GApps in one go.
I was very excited to install this update that released today, but after installing it, I can't sign in to my phone. When it boots up, it flashes the homescreen wallpaper, not the lockscreen wallpaper for a second or two then the screen turns black. If I hold the power button I can view the power settings (reboot, silent, airplane mode, shut down) and also if I double press the power button, which my camera shortcut, it opens the camera. Aside from these actions, I can't do anything.
My method to installing this rom was this:
Download the rom from xiaomi.eu website
use the built in updater where I select a rom on my phone and it automatically boots to recovery for me (I'm using TWRP)
Let it do its thing, and boot up, then when it boots the errors occur.
I tried wiping cache and dalvik, but no change.
Did I miss something? Is there something I should have done differently when updating my phone? Is there a special procedure in upgrading Android versions? (1.1.2.0 is first Android Pie version on my phone)
Thank you very much.
Edit 1: I have flashed a second time, this time flashing cache, dalvik, and data. I was able to get into MIUI and set up my device, but after I rebooted the phone for a separate reason, I am experiencing the same errors as before.
Edit 2: Not 100% sure because I switched ROMs, but I probably could have gotten it working by wiping /system as well.

Hey, by the way, what launcher are you using? This seems to be a problem with just the lock screen so maybe there is a weird interaction happening between the launcher and the lock screen. I was using Rootless Pixel Launcher.
Edit: one more question: did you do the same thing as me where I first flashed without formatting data, then you flashed a second time, that time formatting the data? I'm thinking it could also be just because we flashed it incorrectly the first time, future flashes are gonna be messed up.
Where's the download I can find only 10.1.1.0

Try this : https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software-hacking/remove-lockscreen-recovery-t3530008
You must have a valid custom recovery
Edit : the recovery method won't work... It's a problem with the rom. Just switch to another version....

You can downgrade from Pie to Oreo with EU rom and TWRP, the phone boot up normaly but some processes say stop working.
I had same problem yesterday. I recommend wipe system before reinstalling Oreo rom and waiting a fixed Pie rom

This stable ver has many problems. It's hasnt stable yet. Even when you could turn the screen on, if you use the 3 buttons as default, everything is normal, but if you use fullscreen gestures and reboot your phone, you will stuck in black screen again. Many friends and me have the same black screen problems. So my advice is you should stay where you are waiting for a real "stable" ver.
For all who want to use FSG in version 10.1.2.0 I would recommend the following workaround:
a) Startup freshly installed system
b) Select navigation bar as preferred method and finish setting up the phone
c) Download Magisk v18.0
d) Reboot into TWRP and flash Magisk v18.0 zip
e) Reboot to system
f) Download the free application "Fluid Navigation Gestures" and setup the same Gestures as in Stock mi8
g)Optional: In Fluid NG, choose "Hide Navigation Bar"
It doesn't have the exact same feeling as stock but is pretty close and I think it's valid as a meantime workaround.
So, as I say in the title, I've got this problem and I don't know how to solve it. I already looked on the other thread but I couldn't find anything really helpful.
It all started when I installed this module from Magisk (®FDE.AI, a battery optimizer). At the time I was using the xiaomi.eu ROM. When I rebooted the phone, as required, the recovery showed up, with the "/sdcard/" folder empty.
From then, I tried changing ROM back and forth, but the problem is always the same:
-When I install some apps and I reboot the phone or it boots in recovery or erase everything (showing me the initial setup screen)
-If the TWRP is installed and it reboot in recovery, I get either random error (in the data folder) or something like "Unable to mount /cache" and "Unable to mount /data"
-Random apps, at random condition, freeze. (Ex. Whatsapp, Telegram, Volum Control, Settings, Launcher, etc...)
ROM that I tried:
-xiaomi.EU
-Lineage OS
-MIUI 10.3.6.0 and MIUI 10.3.8.0 by fastboot (both messing up with the phone sensor: I had to flash persist.img)
-MIUI 10.3.11.0
What I already tried:
-Lock/Unlock bootloader
-Change TWRP
-Flash with Mi Flash the stock ROM
-Wiping Data/Cache/System and Format Data
-EDL flashing (without opening the back, but with the command "fastboot oem edl-mode"): it gives me an error, saying that my account is unauthorized
What should I try to do? I'm very desperate. Could be that the module I installed is still in the system?
You guys are my really last chance, I don't really know what to do.
EDIT:
We didn't find any kind of solutions, so some of us send the phone to get repaired.
Conclusion: DON'T EVER EVER INSTALL FDE.AI ON YOUR K20 PRO
EDIT2:
If you find to have the same problem as us, please write that on the FDE thread. Maybe the developer will do something!
EDIT3:
Mine K20 Pro got fixed by the service center by replacing the motherboard. There are no solution via software for now.
Same issue ! I dont know what to do

if you have already open the back cover, try this:
- unplug the battery, connect the phone to computer with USB, wait for the phone to power up, connect the battery cable again and test.
if not, you should go to service center for warranty.
