Hi there,
i just want to know who had the same experience as i had.
We're talking about an HTC m7ul, CyanogenMod, Unlocked
I was trying "Dubstep Hero" as the phone suddenly freezed, even the sound was stuck.
Then it turn off without any warning.
First i tried to reboot it normally, nothing happend.
I guess, the battery should have had about 40%.
Next Chance i thougt would be to reboot into the Bootloader / Recovery (VolUp+Pwr).
Nothing happend. Then i tried to charge the Phone, no red LED came on.
I let the phone on the stock power adapter over night and gave it another try.
Still no reaction.
After that my last attempt to get it back to life with attaching it to my computer.
Nothing was recognized, "lsusb" wasn't able to find anything attached, which could be some kind of phone.
I also tried the variant with pressing buttons for several minutes, without success.
The Phone was about 365 days and 2 hours old.
Here in Germany there is a warranty of 2 years so i returned the phone where "Saturn" will send it to HTC or some other authorized Service Partner.
Hoping that it will be back soon and i don't have any issues about the custom ROM or stuff like that.
btw...
I tried to get an OnePlus One from Coolicool.com. Don't ever buy anything there.
I still got nothing, my only luck is that i paid with paypal.
They even have not shipped it since 3 weeks! Support promised, shipping has already been done...
Next Tuesday i will try to get my Money back.
Finally my Question to u:
Have u or Have u Had the same problems / issues?
Did your Phone came back to life?
What have you done to bring it back to life?
Sorry for my english, it's not that great
Hope you figure out, how things are meant to be..

So, all yesterday, I was having problems getting service anywhere I went. Towards the end of the day I got no service anywhere. So... put my phone on the charger all night, woke up and... Nothing.
Phone wont turn on, battery pull won't work, can't get into bootloader. Orange light turns on when I plug into charge.
I was running the stock HTC ROM with a couple programs installed. Google maps, iContact and Soft Key Changer. Thats it. Had no problems until now.
I called the company I got if from said bring it back they will get me a new one (just got it last Sunday). I can't get Activesync to see the phone so reflash is not a possibility.
They won't be able to turn it on at the store, this thing is gone. But if someone somewhere sees its a new ROM when they send it back (if they can get it on), am I screwed? I think I'd just say the guy in the store did it cause he had is last...
from what I understand you void the warranty by using a different rom.

Try a different battery or a different charger first.

Thats what I understand too. However, you can't get the thing on, no connections - nothing. They won't be able to tell at the dealer for sure. And I think in this state it goes to the junk pile cause I can't get any connection on it period.
From my dealing with Cingular and having to exchange my 8125/Wizard, they always include the statement regarding voiding your warranty if you load unauthorized rom images on your phone.
That being said, I have sent back many bricked 8125's for various reasons (none of which were bad rom images), and I never had an issue with them actually noticing that I had a custom rom loaded on it.
Of course every carrier is different, but judging from my experiences, I think you'll be fine.

Cool, thanks man. I think I'll be fine too. I feel that the issues has nothing to do with the ROM, as the ROM has been working fine for a few days now with no glitches except for the service problem yesterday. I wont mention the ROm of course, but the thing does not turn on in any way whatsoever. The only thing that happens is when you plug in the power you get a orange light up top.
Thanks for your help, I'm glad they haven noticed even on working phones with different roms.
It sounds like it could be as simple as a power issue. Either charger or battery.
But I had the same thing happen to a Razor once. Bricked at the bootlloader screen and would not take a charge from that point on. My carrier (AT&T) had told me the device was beyond repair (translation: they had no clue at the store). Ended up having to borrow a charged battery to re-flash the device.
Haha, I bricked a razr once too, and was able to revive it with via a number of things (barely). I was trying to change the boot screen. Those phones are fun to mess with - at least you could get into the boot loader most of the time even if it was near death.
I'll try a different battery when I get to the store.
I went to the store just now, they changed the battery and... nothing she tried my battery in a new phone and it worked, so the battery is fine, but my phone is f*cked.
I am replaceing tomorrow.
So... i've read a lot of topics about dead captivates, but it seems that all of them are related with something during a flash procedure.
Well, mine just died yesterday after a week using Darky 10.2 in perfect state.
It was charging in the morning, i remembered checking it once and it was with 62%, when i came back to check again to see if it was full, it was already off and just wouldn't turn it on again.
Tried taking out the battery, even tried the one from my brother (he has the I9000), tried different cables, tried different button combinations and nothing, really, nothing happens.
Dunno if it's important but my cappy suffered from the shut down problem... On Froyo it would shut down like 4 times a week, when changed to GB it was once a week...
Anyway, im not in the US (that's why i didn't replaced mine, i've bought it when i went to the US in last October.
It still has the guarantee, so could anyone point me out a direction ? I have a friend that it's going on the end of August to NY (he is going to be there for 2 months), so it maybe be my only chance...
Unless you can find me a solution to fix the phone !
You might want to try to contact Samsung USA directly and tell them your situation. They should be able to help.

I rooted when the phone first came out, did the forever root method days ago, was using ROM manager to boot into recovery and BAM!!! phone went completely dead. I had just taken it off the docking station about 15 minutes prior, had a full charge, tried swapping with my original battery, nothing...took it to verizon store, they couldn't do anything and ordered me another phone to come on Tuesday. What do you guys think??? I haven't installed any roms, radio changes, NOTHING!!!... pulled the battery a hundred times, nothing comes on
Dude, first of all, if you mess up your phone by rooting it, DO NOT take it to Verizon. Cardinal rule #1.
Second, a quick view of the threads here and you would have found this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1279825
Do this and you'll be fine.
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using xda premium
That's the thing
I can't get to fastboot or any boot screen. Phone is completely lifeless, doesn't even show when plugged in, tried multiple chargers, batteries, everything...nothing.
Sorry bro, sounds like a hard brick to me. if you cant power it on and holding VolumeDown+Power or holding both volume buttons+power does nothing at all, you're hard bricked (you cant fix it)
You need to buy a new device. Tell verizon you lost it or somebody stole it or something, but DO NOT take it into verizon.
Happened to me too over the weekend. Was playing Greedy Spiders and the phone froze. Rebooted and got the dual core screen twice then kaput. Tried everything and it won't turn on. Did some research and this isn't a one off problem. Took it VZW and they replaced but I have to wait for it to ship. I love how if you are buying the phone, they have them at the store, if you BOUGHT the phone and need it replaced due to warranty you have to wait.
Of course because they make more money that way
looking for a little help guys, not sure what has happened but i have just literally (in the last 30 minutes) installed rom manager, on running the software for the first time i got the run at your own risk message that comes up the first time and then it went to the menu...... and then the phone shut down and now wont turn on, doesnt register when i plug it in to the laptop or even when the charger is plugged in. please guys need some suggestions here as to how to make this brick work again!!!
many thanks
having tried several different ways to resolve this (pressing and holding home, vol down and pwr whilest inserting the battery being one of them), ive come to the conclusion that there is no coming back from whatever rom manager has done to my phone. thankfully the phone is still within warranty as its less than 3 months old so heres hoping that they will fix the damn thing!!!
Rom manager is a tricky app because it is known for bricking phones often.
Seems like your phone is dead.
Most user with similar prob like you had to bring the phone to the service.

As you are on warranty bring it there and wait till it is repaired.
Good luck.
Next time better do not work with rom manager.
thanks, yeah its weird cause when i had it on my x10 mini pro i had no issues - but clearly not the case here, oh well live n learn!!!
just as a sort of fyi i took the phone to my local t-mobile store here in liverpool and the guy behind the counter couldnt have been more helpfull, took the phone and arranged for it to be sent back to samsung for repair, even tried himself to make it work but to no avail. was most impressed with his 'can do' attitude and its not often that something like that happens!!!
Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone is able to help me out with my HTC one M7. My phone has been out of commission since Monday night and I'm all out of options on what to do, I've even tried doing a factory reset as a last resort but that didn't seem to work as it looked like the process just stalled.
Here's a bit of background of what happened: Monday night I charged my phone through the wall outlet and went to have dinner, I came back to check on the phone and it was off. I thought that was odd so when I tried turning it back on I would only ever be able to get to the white HTC logo screen. I'm able to get into fastboot and recovery but after googling solutions and trying the options people have mentioned, it still isn't working. I'm not very tech oriented so I wouldn't know how to flash ROMs or anything like that...soooo, I'm hoping someone is able to explain steps in I'm able to understandr. I don't even know flashing ROMs is possible at this point since whenever I plug it into my PC, the drivers aren't recognized by Windows and says 'failed to install drivers'.
Any help is very much appreciated!! (I signed up to the forum in order to write this and seek help lol)
I haven't done ANY customization to the phone everything is all stock from my service provider so I'm really baffled at how this sudden fail could have happened. There was no OTA update either.

Unfortunately it's not, I've had the phone for a little over 2 years now. Seriously contemplating just using a loaner phone in the meantime while I wait for the new Nexus ...

Yes, I did. It flashed to the screen with 2 green arrows in a circle and 1 downward green arrow with a progress bar at the bottom but nothing happens during this period. I left the phone like that for about 30 mins just to see if anything would happen and nothing did.
