Thanks. Saw this last night. Made me so happy I went with the black.
No problem, the review made me rethink it but I think I'm going with the white. When o2 eventually let me order it...
One of the best reviews I have seen for the Note 4, some great quality close ups. I was wondering if I should have gone for a white Note 4 but now I have seen this video I am happy I went for the black one!

Hi Sam! You did great with the vids! Other than the Nexus S, what phones do you use actively? Do you install custom ROMs on your android phone(s)?
z0mg famous people!

Hey Sam
Which videos to you prefer doing XDATV or tehkseven?
Show suggestion
I'd like to see you compile a list of links for each show that you do so that when we hear you mention something interesting that we missed, we can quickly find it.

We do this anyway. Check the description of the videos and you will see a list of links to the relevant stories.
Sam,
I like your style. You keep things light hearted and laughable while maintaining a geeky clean nerd style. You are very entertaining.
I would like to request more content and more relevant content per video. You have not yet covered Samsung anything.... Samsung is the top USA producer of mobile devices. the i9000 is the #2 most popular forum. There is alot of development in that area. Also, you have not covered much in the way of technical items. I'd like to see some serious geeking out. I'm not asking for just myself, I own a Samsung Captivate, which is similar, but not mainstream.
I'm very sorry to hear that you have an apple product. It might be a good idea to not mention that thing... You'll notice that ipad/iphone forums are kept on a different website all-together.
here is some seriously geeky stuff which has not been covered yet on any XDA videos...
security: http://articles.cnn.com/2011-05-18/...-phone-newer-android-android-users?_s=PM:TECH
Android accessory development: http://www.google.com/search?q=Android+Open+Accessory
Resistor values for most samsung devices: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=820275
Also, don't forget to jump on the article from yesterday about the android system permissions.
I like your style, my wife does as well. We'd just like to see more content which appeals to the majority.
Call for developers: enable video calls in Android
Dear Sam,
This is a request that I have which I'd like to ask you to please air up in your show.
This is about UMTS video calls. This is a carrier feature which for years is supported by many devices but is completely missing in Android.
This is a call for developers. Please get us UMTS video calls in Android and submit the patch to AOSP and CyanogenMod. The reason to submit the patch to CyanogenMod as well, is that there it may be accepted sooner.
Here's the AOSP feature request issue:
https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=2664
Here's the CyanogenMod one:
https://code.google.com/p/cyanogenmod/issues/detail?id=3763
Blessings,
Shahar
Love the nice format
Nice format. I'm a "noob" but your show is really easy to follow & I like the style/humor. Nice work.
Noob here as well
Just got up to date with watching the shows on the podcast (so will be adding the new ones soon).
Loving the shows, good stuff.
Hope to see more of the neighbour you watch from your darkened room.
Update:
All the latest videos are on the podcast now!
Hey Sam, just said I'd stop by and say I hope your face is ok after that unmerciful slap that SassiBob gave you.

It is a frameless case that uses and adhesive pad to keep the tablet attached. So it won't be loose.

I am amazed at the amount of vague thread titles on all forums, not just xda.
Favorite examples include:
Hey guys! Did you see this?!
What do you guys think about...
This is so awesome!!
Please advice...
I think everyone should start a new thread for every single time they buy an accessory for their Nexus 7.
Then create another thread when the accessory comes in and make another for a unboxing and another for a review.
everybodys an asshole
Just posting it. So hard to click a link, huh?

Good for you for buying a case and letting us know.
I just took a dump while reading xda on my Nexus.

Hey guys! I made a thread reviewing this thread. I'll post the link later.
I got the idea from this guy on youtube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QEJgGe36f54
I wanted to share my results with you guys, because I am really satisfied with the results. I used Sharpie brand paint markers, if you know where to find the ones used for graffiti I'd recommend those, Krink is a good brand. I went with blue and white for this as I thought it would really stand out.
Let me know what you guys think! And if anyone else decides to try it, post your pictures here!

You have angered the Nexus 7 gods by posting a duplicate thread of the one that already exists here.
Your punishment is that you must now read through every thread on the XDA forums in Alan Rickman's voice.
Side note: looks good.

This isn't a review. Its a preview.
The only real review sites are the following:
- Anandtech
- Heelsandtech
Everything else is simply a preview with personal opinions of the author mixed in to %#&! it up.
If I had to take a preview of any of the 2nd tier sites out there (theverge, engadget, slashgear, etc) it would be gigaom since they are truly unbiased.
Thread topic is a little misleading. Regardless, good video.
The Verge did an amazing job with their news handling for these devices today

They can be good but they don't include battery life tests so I don't count them as real reviews. Just went through 4 different reviews on their front page just now and none of them had ANY battery life test sections. Plus they DEFINITELY don't have the knowledge base Anand does.
Either way its just my personal preference
Maybe it is just me but did anybody else notice that all the lockscreens in the videos are using the pattern to unlock and not the slide to unlock?
Well I only did see the one in this thread and the one from the verge but still it was something that I had noticed.

It's not that unusual as it is an option and perhaps they didn't want anyone snooping on those phones that wasn't suppose to be.

Yea it can be that. But I was eluding to the possibility of perhaps they got rid of that lockscreen option for the phone.
Hands-on video. What a beauty of a phone!!

Usually they post their battery test results on their blog.
I guess they prefer to post the review ASAP and then add the battery results (I suppose since they take some time to do).
I really don't like the glass on the back. Has Google not learnt anything from Apple?

I wouldn't take any one of those, a.k.a. Anadtech, who post some test results without imforming it's based on pre-release software as superior to others.

Scored mine a couple days early, so I did an unboxing video, enjoy. Hopefully I got all my info right.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mtwQ2DxwOM4 -- Setup and Initial Impressions of the Samsung S5
Don't worry, root will come up, however instead of littering the forum I'm gonna edit this post to reflect each new video, and perhaps change the thread title. (and in the regard of root we need more carriers releasing sources, unless someone wants to give me an International Version to play with long enough to make a video.)

Neither can I, but I had no idea something was holding me back until I started the unstickering.. on the flipside I should've opened it at the logo end and not the feature list, although I did a good job at preserving the entire list
