Well, next thing is going on. I have installed many roms and every time was a succes. Never ever went anything wrong. Now i am trying to install ics roms, cmw gives an error when he is "opening update package". I have tried cm9 build4 and paranoidandroid latest version. I wipe cache, factory set, then i format system and mount system. Then install from sd card and chose update package. What am i doing wrong¡!!

Few times ago, I got the same problem and I think I solved it with an update of ClockWork Recovery Mod
I downloaded rom manager from app store and hit the "flash clockworkmod recovery" . Then there came a list with phone models, but the gt-i9001 wasnt included, so i chose gt-i9000, i hope that wont be a problem. Next i went into recovery mode, there i saw i was using feamod 1.4 based on cmw 5.5.0.4. After little bit of googling i found that this is the latest cmw vesion... So i backuped my current rom (BlazR ultimate). Wiped everything, format system, chose zip from sdcard and tried the kang version of cm9. Also tried the cm9 normal build4 and tge paranoidandroid but all failed. Just for trying i tried to flash the blazR Rom again, wich has firmware 2.3.6, but this went perfect. So how can it be that my cmw only flashes non-ics roms?

I recently acquired a GT-N7000 device and as I'm used flashing custom ROMs more than often, I rooted it to be able to flash CWM.
The issue is that when I flash CWM, after reboot it gets wiped out and is reverted back to the stock recovery. Moreover if I flash a custom ROM the devices gets rebooted suddenly and boots into the stock ROM.
I wonder where is the problem here. Urgent help is needed.
Thanks.
Sounds like you haven't got full root? Are you able to write to /system?

Basicly, I flashed stock ROM through Odin, installed CWM 5.0.2.8 and the device worked fine. Then, I flashed CM10.1 and gapps through CWM (which I could only enter through adb, not through keys), and whenever I reboot phone, only recovery boots, not device.
try flashing a newer cwm version like 6.0.3.3 (or something like that) after that i advice you something like cm9 or cm10.1 by bleached (thewhisp's is discontinued) , except that i have no idea of what can be the problem

Hi folks
Am having trouble to flash all recovery Cwm twrp etc in my mi3
It says something went wrong when doing with the updater in my phone and I also tried the falshify and
Mobile uncle tool it's not working my phone is rooted and am on miuiv6
Not all cwm versions can be installed via updater app. Try different cwm versions. You will be able to see the process complete if you get the right version
Mi3-W-C-Recovery-2014-08-04-EN.zip
Worked for me. Get from here

Read error response and Check what CWM zip you used for updating!!

Hey XDA
So the thing is I want to go back to the developer rom from MIUI after I installed some custom roms for my MI3
But everytime i try to install it I get an error...
"This package is for "cancro" devices : This is a "Cm-cancro""
Now I have searched all over the internet but did not find any results.
But one of the user had the same problem quoting
"This package is for "cancro" devices : This is a "aosp-cancro""
How to resolve this issue?
Any way I can get back and try the new miui7?
The thing on my device is
1. It has a single 1.2GB parition
2. I am using Resurrection remix (although i get the same error on paranoidAndroid)
3.I am using CWM recovery v6.0.5.0
Anyone can help?

recent developers roms doesn't support old CWM recovery, use TWRP recovery. it works:good::good:
I also have the same problem.. Earlier once I tried to install miui using twrp but it gave because of single partition using cwm recovery since. Anybody tried flashing miui on single partition using twrp

Load a stable ROM. Delete Cache if required (Downgrading). Then move to developer ROM.
Stable ROM like which one?

Extract the MIUI zip file.
Navigate to META-INF > com > google > android > Updater script.
Open up that file in notepad.
Get rid of the line starting with “assert” to next semicolon. Usually this is the first line or one of the first lines at the top of the text file. Just delete them.
DO not delete any mount commands.
Repack the file in zip and flash it
So I got two questions now :
1. How do I get TWRP when I already have CWM?
Do I flash it like we normally do or is there any other procedure?
2. Do i have to go back to stock partition?
Can't I just have the 1.2 GB partition and install the MIUI 7?
And thanks guys for your replies

1. Follow instructions here http://en.miui.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=113671&highlight=twrp+mi4
2. no problems, just don't try to boot into system 2 and install all roms in system 1.
