Are you unlocked and/or rooted?
What version are you on now?
What version are you trying to upgrade to?
Have you previously upgraded and then downgraded?
Are you using RSDLite or just mfastboot?
Xt1028 is the Verizon Moto G, correct?
This is an xt1028 that is for claro Puerto Rico I believe its the same as the att version, now I'm on custom rom liquid smooth 4.4.4 but I've been able to install custom 4.4.3 versions

Well when I do a google search of Moto XT1028, it says it is the model number for Verizon Moto G.
The Moto X for Claro Puerto Rico is the XT1058, which is the same model as for ATT.
So your bootloader is unlocked. What version of the bootloader are you on? You can tell this by booting into the bootloader mode - it will tell you what version of the bootloader you are running.
Sorry you are wright about the model, well I believe the boot loader is 30.b7 sha-bae5e20

Did you check and that is it for sure - 30:B7?
30:B7 is the 4.4.4 bootloader so you have already upgraded your bootloader and your partition table to 4.4.4- you cannot downgrade those and that is why you are getting the error - you are trying to downgrade your partition table to 4.4.3. You cannot do that.
Gpt is the partition table.
What are you using, RSDLite or are you flashing manually using fastboot/mfastboot?
Yes i did upgrade to 4.4.4 after that I unlock the boot loader and flash customs 4.4.3 actually I install one 4.4.3 base room and work fine. Now what I'm trying to do is install stock 4.4.4 for my carrier

I hate to barge in but it sounds to me that this phone was updated to 4.4.4 and then downgraded to 4.4.3. Isn't upgrading back to 4.4.4 in these situations what causes a brick?
I'm not smart enough to say this with conviction but I don't want to see him brick his phone.

Unfortunately, there is no 4.4.4 for claro Puerto Rico.
What are you using as your custom recovery? Did you make a nandroid of your 4.4.4 system before you flashed the custom ROM?

I just want to be clear here, you flashed the 4.4.4 firmware for the XT1050 to your XT1058 and this resulted in you having the 4.4.4 bootloader version 30:B7.
You were then able to return to stock 4.4.3 by flashing a 4.4.3 nandroid that you created using TWRP prior to flashing the 4.4.4 firmware for the XT1050, correct?
Correct now I'm able to install custom ROMs 4.4.3 and 4.4.4

Gtk. I was able to do the same thing - i.e., upgrade to 4.4.4 so my bootloader was 30:B7 and then go back to a 4.4.2 nandroid. My bootloader stays at 30:B7 but no problems with going back to a 4.4.2 nandroid.
So it seems that as long as you have a nandroid of an earlier android system, you can downgrade the system without bricking.
Seems to be at least I've been able to install stock base and aosp 4.4.3 and 4.4.4 but using rsd only 4.4.4

SAme here, but what If I unroot via toolkit? Dangerous?
If you have deleted system apps, flashed a custom recovery or things like that then either SBF back to the original 4.2.2 firmware or 4.4 when available. If its only root you can just take the OTA. It will kill root during the process.

The Rogers Canada 4.4.2 firmware flashallthetime recommended you install is the file Blur_Version.161.44.26.ghost_row.RCI.en.CA and the file is ROGERS-CA_GHOST_KXA20.16-1.26_cid14_CFC_1FF.xml.zip. You can find it at the link below, just look through the list for Rogers Canada Android 4.4.2. This is apparently compatible with tmobile xt-1053. The actual tmobile sbf is not yet released by Motorola, but will be available at some point.

2.- Im on 4.4 (Retail Brasil) whit the modem of T-mobile (because when i flashed the Retail Brasil i lost all the signal).
3.- I readed that the XT1053 its for T-Mobile US, Dev Ed and i flashed a brasilian! Really im going crazy.

2.- ¿Flash another 4.4.2?

So don't flash any sbf , chances if you lose your signal you'll have an expensive coffee table ornament. Youre better off flashing kangakat ROM and stay away from flashing sbf firmware unless your carrier specific sbf firmware is available

Before of that i will do this (its my last try):
I will flash the T-Mobile 4.4, if everything works fine I will upgrade to 4.4.2 of the same company (I founded ).
But, if I flash 4.4 and I see something wrong I will stay there and use only customs.
So one las question : In theory... ¿can I change between 4.4 of x carrier to another 4.4 of x carrier?

Hi guys,
I have a Moto X xt1052 Asia retail version and I want to return back to stock firmware after fooling around with it.
However, I can only find xt1052 stock firmwares for other regions such as Europe retail, Germany retail and France retail.
I'm wondering, can I flash other region firmwares such as the Europe retail firmware on my Asia retail xt1052? And if so, will there be any repercussions?
Thanks. [emoji3]
I also have the same problem. Would be great if someone told if I can directly flash that 4.4.4 retail UK factory image on my Asia retail xt1052.

Yes and thanks for that, but I would like to go to stock. So I'm wondering if it is alright to flash stock firmwares for other regions?
It might be possible if the radios use the same frequencies. But keep in mind you will most likely lose languages because the other XT1052 firmwares might not have any of the asian languages. But I don't recommend installing firmwares that are not for XT1052 because they are more likely to have problems or cause a brick. Also don't ever downgrade versions. Downgrading causes bricks.

Just wanted to ask this.. Did you flash all the files in the factory image like gpt.bin and motoboot.img? Or only system, boot, and recovery?
flash all. just in case if you've replaced even a tiny .apk from system with a modded one, your ota flash would be unsuccessful. I had the same problem while taking the 4.4.4 ota. So I flashed the whole 4.4.2 system and then took the ota. Worked like a charm. Anyway, I'm flashing the whole file which has been linked in the post above mine

So, I have my brand new Moto X XT1097 here in Mexico, as far I know no matters if Motorola sold me or a carrier, the only Pure Edition is the XT1095, so having this in mind, I decided to flash the Official Lollipop version XT1097, here in Mexico is already rolling. But my phone has locked bootloader and I already check at Motorola page and is suitable for unlock, but I dont want to unlocked, not just yet. Well, my question is, if I update my phone to Lollipop will I be able to unlock the bootloader after that or I have to unlock BEFORE the update?
Thanks in advance.
Doesn't matter at all. You can install the 5.0 OTA and unlock your bootloader later.
