not necessarily. there are many posts on here of Sammy fixing knox tripped devices and even one that includes the Sammy rep conversation that if the problem "IS" hardware related and not something that a software manipulation could have caused they generally will still fix it.
i dont have links handy but they are not hard to find.

Yeah, they have to fix a hardware problem under warranty unless they can prove that a rooted device caused their phone to bend in your pocket (for example ?).

Skype stores your contacts, your profile, your instant message logs, and more in a number of sqlite3 databases. these files are not encrypted or protected in any way.
Sucks for the people that put all of their information in there.

My post has enough information for you to explore on your own, and more than proves the issue. After it is fixed, I may explain more.
Glad I saw this. I was just about to try it out lol. Good job jcase!

without much knowledge, I thought you meant YOU wrote the Skype app as a point to prove you can hack into peoples personal information. basically calling it a fake "leaked" skype. lol.

Just my two cents from watching the forums I know over in the ATT n3 page they removed it and all links to it because they haven't proven that there isn't any harmful malware or anything else. So from all I have read if you use be careful and read everything fully.

yes, but I have never had any issues with it. I think its unsubstantiated. And it works every time.

Working wasn't the issue it was what it was doing afterwards that caused red flags.

Why waste your time using this? its so easy to do anyway, plus if it has spyware?
It's just another method and I don't believe it does anything malicious. There are a lot of people on the forums who are happy with kingo.

I used kingo to root my note 3 soon as the method was published with no negative results to me nor my pc. ..I doubt that it's malware they even responded to such claims it's over in the note 3 development forums

They have ceased in IMEI collection and made public source, so there is no more concern about this apk.

If a user has the new firmware, can't they just put a JTAG programmer on the chip and reprogram it using a custom ROM/Recovery?

According to the guys at gtvhacker, they're disabled at the hardware end, according to ddggttff3 here.

Just now got MMS on my Nexus 6 with 5.1.1 and did not understand:
My phone can be infected?
How I can check is my phone already infected?
If so, how I can make my phone clean?
nobody has been affected, but if you didnt receive the update, then your phone can still be affected. there are apps that can check your phone btw.

The publication of possible vulnerabilities and the second wave of publications that the Google patches did not fix the issues 100%.

There really was no reason. It's something that needed to be fixed, and it was serious. But no one was harmed, and there was no actual attack made.
