my kf hd 7 is currently in a boot loop after flashing a rom through TWRP.... it gets the yellow kindle fire sign up then reboots over and over.. i have a fastboot cable and it will go into fastboot mode however when i then plug it into the computer with either a standard factory cable or the fast boot cable it says USB Device not recognised and the device has malfunctioned.. i have adb drivers installed and sdk installed. i have tried KFFA and SRT 1.35 but because the pc don't recognise the device it just sits at WAITING FOR DEVICE when i try to run any of the commands. i have used adb before to push files in twrp however i cannot get the pc to recognise it. i have also tried my daughters laptop and still have the same issue ..any ideas guys????

Yes, use a factory/Flashboot cable and use SRT 1.3.5. With that cable the Kindle will go into fastboot as soon as you connect it to a PC/Laptop which has Fastboot drivers loaded. When you are in the fastboot mode, you can confirm that that teh ADB driver is being used by going to Devices--->Kindle
Use Kindle Fire first aide
You should Kindle Fire First Aide at this link to unbrick your Kindle after fixing drivers.

i made a fastboot cable. it does boot the kindle into fastboot mode. when i type in a command and the kindle is turned on it says unknown device. ive tried updating the drivers but it says it doesnt need to. i guess what im trying to ask is there a way to get it to connect or do i need a new fastboot cable or something along these lines.
my stock cable works just fine and i can connect to adb. im on 7.3.0 so i kinda need a fastboot cable so i can put kinology on it.
SOLVED: Use the fastboot cable to boot into fastboot then switch to the stock cable.
Try SoupKit
ubuntu couldnt pick up the kindle in fastboot. im just confused on why nothing is detecting it. it boots into fastboot mode so it obviously getting the extra power. why wouldnt anything be able to detect it?

In Linux, enter the command 'lsusb' into the terminal. If you see "Lab 126", it is detecting your Kindle.
The "unknown device" error makes me wonder if you are entering the fastboot commands correctly in the first place.

There's a hundred topics on this if you just use the search engine.
Thanks for that thought, i have looked, I do have the most up to date kindle usb drivers i can get but still can not get windows to reconize the kindle in fastboot, I just want to clairify that the issue with the hd7 that can "fast boot" is that i cant get my computer to reconize it
Plug it in with a normal cable once it's in fastboot, then try my drivers in my signature on the device in the device manager that should say something like tate-pvt or jem-pvt if it is a 8.9" model.

I only stated that because so many times we have posted lengthy responses to this question and it takes a lot to type it all up on a tablet.
You stated you have 2 7" tablets. So stick with Tate.
So in fastboot , that's what you should see, fastboot. You won't see a red triangle and adb will not be recognized. Download the system restore tool here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=33156486 follow the OP.
Edit: If a fastest cord does nothing to energize your tablet, that's a hard brick.
Edit 2: Update link to proper one.

The only thing i can get on device manager is "unknown device, no drivers installed"
"Instructions:
1.) Download the version you want to use from the link below and unzip.
2.) Enable fastboot mode. Turn off your device then plug into your pc using a factory cable. If the device is recognized by adb then you can use this command:"
quote from kfhd sys restore thread.
note the red, I Can Not Get It Recognized

What that means is if adb is recognized then you can use a command to get into fastboot with a standard USB. This does not apply to you because you're looking. You want to restore your tablet, I have shown you how to.

I recently installed the wrong boot loader on my Kindle Fire HD 7" (2012). I got the red screen, after doing a lot of research on the forums I obtained a fast boot cable and installed KFFA to attempt to recover it. When I plug the device in using the fastboot cable it comes to the fast boot screen but on my pc it says device not recognized and in the device manager it shows error 43. I rebooted my computer and everything, reinstalled the kindle drivers but nothing seems to work. I even tried another computer thinking it could be my usb port but I got the same error. I tried to test to see if the device was in fast boot mode from another utility and it just sits at "waiting for device". I've tried to connect the fast boot cable and the connect the regular usb cable in after the device was in fast boot mode. I'm not sure what the issue is, the kindle fire seems to respond to being plugged into the computer but the computer does not recognize it. Please help.

Fast boot logo?
Try changing/resetting USB ports, and connect only to a 2.0 port

Likely a (Windows) driver issue although could also be USB cable and/or port related. Seen many a crappy cable that allow communication in one mode but not the other. Same for ports, especially older USB3 and those that reside behind a hub. Try switching cables and/or ports to see if the problem abates.
That said, a driver issue is more likely. See: https://forum.xda-developers.com/am...n-fire-2015-tips-tricks-t3214544/post63072252
Thank you so much for the info. Turned out to be the cable. I'm now running 5.3.1 rooted.
