[Q] VPN or Cert with Fingerprint scanner not Pin - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 5

I have a VPN that I want to set on my phone, also some CERT's to some websites that I want to install on my phone.. Right now they are on it, but for some reason it disables the fingerprint scanner, and requires me to set a PIN or a password. It says that fingerprint is turned off by administrator, encryption policy or credential storage.
my phone is rooted, is there a way to change this requirement? I would really like to use the finger print scanner.
thank you

VPN Credential Storage - Remove

I just updated to 4.4.2. In 4.3 I was able to bypass the phone needing a pin or pattern if you have a VPN setup. In 4.4.2 they got a little smarter. I just don't want to have to put in a pin or pattern everytime I open up my phone. Does anyone know how to get rid of this. I tried using sqllite and changing the lockscreen.password_type record but it prompts me for credential storage after a reboot.

[Q] Pin with fingerprint?

I am not a fan of a pascode for the fingerprint backup, is there a way to use a pin instead.
ALSO, I want to get VPN to work with the fingerprint, it requires a lot more secure password I guess to get VPN to work?

I also hate the passcode, I wish I can use the pattern for an alternative

Exchange e-mail accounts and fingerprint scanner

Hey all,
I currently have a Note 4 and just ordered my Note 5 (will be here tomorrow). Currently, my employer requires a password or pincode on any device connecting to company e-mail. No big deal, but you cannot use the fingerprint scanner. Some initial research about the Note 4 shows that Samsung programmed their exchange application this way. I was just curious if anyone is using EAS, if they changed it so you can use the fingerprint scanner to be used for the pincode/password security now?
TIA :good:
I use EAS for my job and the way I set it up was Knox. You can't root your phone, but Knox creates a "sandbox", basically kinda like a virtual device and to access ANYTHING work related I have to scan my fingerprint. You can set it up with a PIN, fingerprint or password.

[Q] forced lock screen in order to use biometrics in apps.

Installed Oreo on my N950N this morning, and just now I found out that if I want to use biometrics in some apps (homebanking app, fast log in in many sites, using iris/fingerprint for entering secret mode on Samsung Internet) I'm forced to set up a screen lock security (pattern/pin or password) if I just put the simple swipe, I won't be able to use biometrics anymore? Why? What's the point of this forcing?

Any work arounds? I'm having issues resolving this one myself
I think its a security update on Oreo, so since it "might" be embedded on the code it might not be possible to do a work around without root or any major components changed, don't quote me on it this is just my opnion

Question Activate facial recognition, but require zero security?

Is there a way I can activate facial recognition and fingerprints and/or a pin and all that stuff, but not have them be required to use my phone?
Meaning, facial recognition would work great if I could use it to sign in to my banking account. But my creating one in Biometrics forces me to make a pin, which then forces me to use the pin every time I open my phone.
I don't want this. Only swipe, I do not need security. But I want to use facial recognition. Can I, and how?
No you can't, the Banking app hooks in to the system secuerty to use biometrics.
