Just received my new nexus 7 dock. Plugged it in, using the ac charger and cable that came with the Nexus 7. When I put the tablet on the dock, nothing happens. The battery indicator doesn't show that it's charging and it doesn't go into "dock" mode as Phil's video on android central shows. Is there something in the Jelly Bean settings where you have to activate the pin connectors on the side of the Nexus??
Any help would be appreciated.
Kevin
What dock did you get? Could you showe some pictures of the dock?

Did you upgrade to JB 4.2.1? The docking mode is not supported on 4.1.2.
For some reason my XZ has started making a beep indicator whenever it is put in or taken out of the charging dock.
I cannot see anything in settings to stop it so if anyone knows please tell me as it is driving me nuts!
Thanks

Disable sound, place phone in charge dock, enable sound again!

or if your rooted, just delete dock.ogg & undock.ogg from system/media/audio/ui.
I want the beep!! How do I get it?
if i remember correctly, disabling Sony SmartConnect for the Dock should do the trick.
Unfortunately none if those worked but thanks anyway

I use the torch built into Gravitybox

droidlight - its all budget all the time but its from Motorola Mobility, so it should be 100% safe to use.
Torch toggle from gravitybox.
Does it make much difference? I am using the Motorola one but I'm wondering why you would ask - do different apps provide a brighter light?
The one I linked above is super simple.open it, the light turns on.open it again, it turns off.easy as could be

I'm not sure what is the Motorola one? Do you mean Droidlight LED Flashlight? Looks it will automatically turn off when screen time is up.

That's the Droidlight LED Flashlight, I saw some comments that it will automatically turn off when the screen time is up, do you have the same issue?
No, but motto puts a time limit on the led. I assume it is to protect the led from over heating.

Been using this one since my Driod 1. Lets you use screen or LED and seems to be very lightweight (would have posted the actual link, but I never really posted to XDA... just mainly read. Need to get rid of the stupid post restriction)
I use the flashlight in Power Toggles. I keep a set of toggles on a lock screen widget (WiFi, sound mode, Bluetooth, flashlight, GPS) and the flashlight is one of them.

TeslaLed, you can set a widget with it that automatically turns it on. It also has strobe options I believe. But it also works great with Tasker as it is built in as a plugin or 3rd party options. I exported an app with Tasker App Factory so I can activate it via voice as well.
Has and one got screen rotation to work besides when it's charging?

This would be cool for those who wear the watch on the inside of their wrist, sometimes it's more comfortable to view it with your arm straight up. Don't know why it's not an option in stock.
I would like to see it fixed

Strange one here, when I connect my phone with the wireless charger daydream clock activates. When I remove the phone from the charger the screen dims to its lowest setting I have to pull down to adjust the brightness. This isn't because of daydream. I have tried disabling it, I get the same results?
Can someone shed some light on this, it's really annoying.
