You can't ask "what ROM is best". Try any of them and decide which ROM "is the best" for you!

i said what rom is no laggy and stable!
Ive tried a lot of kitkat roms and is just crap!

Try Mokee [ubl] or mr.steve555 cm11 [lbl] and williams kernel v7
Sent from my Xperia SP using XDA Free mobile app

My SP ist the most laggiest phone i ever had... I rather would bring it back to where i bought it!
I tried stock rom, then changed to CM11 and the Williams Kernel v4. Nothing really better, still laggy.
Tweaked the rom and CPU with C3, helped not much..
I have ubl and root, any tips what i can do?

Looking for a stable rom for my 70 year old Father

Hello I am looking for a Rom that will not freeze up. A stable and fast Rom and Kernel combo. My father is 70 and when it freezes up on him you can imagine the distress and 20 phone calls i receive from him. Please can someone advice on the most stable rom there is on xda for the i9000. I am more concerned about stability than speed. Altho a bit of both would be nice. Even if I could have one with the latest firmware and still be stable would be a bonus. But i do understand the limits with the hardware and porting issues.
Thank you for any help you can give me.
Edit: This post needs moving to Q&A sorry to the forum admins.

Problem is he is on stock and it keeps freezing why I thought a custom rom may be a better option.

You can flash cm10.1 rc2 for more stable rom, cm10.1 is better than cm10.0
For stock setting I mean stock kernel

semaphore kernel one of the best kernel for sgs, and im using it as u can see in my sign. but because its for your father i prefer to stay with stock, or you can use semaphore its v.stable but don't use live oc because its phone independent and may cause soft reboot
I installed it and wow its fast. Also how nice is CM10. I slapped gapps on top to cos he uses gmail play etc. I can't believe I have never bothered with AOSP Roms before. It's going on my i9300 tonight. Stunning! Thanks again for your help.

[Q] ROM with NO random reboots? Stable?

Hi,
Can someone please recommend a stable ROM for the I8190N? It needs to be light, customisable, stable and preferably 4.2.2 or above....
I would really appreciate it if replies address the following:
Please only suggest a ROM if you have had random reboots on another ROM, then flashed a ROM and the random reboots stop....
Already flashed and have had issues with:
CyanogenMod 11.0 (maclaw and AOKP)
CyanogenMod 10.2 (maclaw and OliverG)
Light by somin
Chameleon OS 0.8
Anything "golden"
A deodexed stock ROM and custom kernel would be fine.....
Thanks!!

I meant to say in my OP that Dmodv6 was excellent - started flashing others because I'm a serial flasher (have four android devices) and wanted a newer android version.... if you kitkat Dmod, I'll consider you a living god!!
I've got stock AMJ2 from sammobile and plan to deodex, root and de-bloat.
The stock rooted XXAMJ3 - isn't for the 8190N - would I expect issues if i flashed it? Ignore me, i know it would NOT be a good idea!
Thanks!!
stock rom is the best.

try one of these, they are fast, stable, debloated and smooth Virginity V2 or somin.n ROM
if you flash somin ROM, search baseband xxam... and kernel xxam... on the forum and flash it.
Maclaw's cm10.2 no longer suffers from random reboots and is completely stable (in my experience anyway).

Well, that depends on which governor you used and how many apps which sync every minute you had.
Luckily on custom roms you can change the governor.
You can change the behaviour or disable background processes as well. (I recommend the application ''Greenify'' for that).
If I didn't convince you now I'm afraid I have to tell you that there are no stable custom roms except stock based..

First of all, every custom rom (based on custom kernel) requires an unlocked bootloader and as the bootloader unlock breaks the camera that functionality will be lost in each and every custom rom until Sony fixes the issue.

Yeah there are a few, under android development section that only require root.
monxDIFIED has been one of my fav's since Xperia Z
Bump, same question as topic.
My wifes z1c has camera and battery issues, i need a rom that just works, no bells or wistless, just that it works, all of it. Besides that, battery is the second most important thing.
Any advice on ROM, kernel, mods etc?

I tried lot of different ROMs on SP which includes MIUI, CM11, existenz, etc, etc but after 2-3 days of using always have one or more than one problem mentioned above! So I just flashed stock Jb 4.3 and Disabled lot of debloated apps from the Setting>Apps. Installed CLEAN MASTER app. Since the stock is best stable ROM therefore best battery backup no random reboot. Now waiting for the new firmware update for JB 4.3 which has already been released. I hope we are going to get it very soon and going to get a better performance! :good:
Please try Ultimate PureXSP and Ultimate BlackXSP
IMO Stock 4.1.2 is still fastest, just debloat it and it's perfect. I rather stay this and wait fixed 4.3 from Sony.

I found this in the Doomkernel post :
Xperia SP [C5302/C5303/C5306]
stock JellyBean 4.3 FW
.266 - v05, v05-new, v06
stock JellyBean 4.1.2 FW
.245/254- v02, v03, v04
.284- v01
bootloader unlocked
working fastboot
android app for overclocking like SetCPU (paid) or NoFrills CPU Control (free)
so how I can flash it and my phone is on LB ?
yes stock 4.3 got bugs but atleast the camera quality is far better then 4.1.2 whenever I install custom ROM or kernel to my Xperia SP its a kind of unstable i can't even run the full antutu benchmark it reboots at 21% no matter on what custom ROM/kernel i am running :crying: and system reboots frequently. Therefore, Now i flashed the stock 4.3 australia firmware and locked the bootloader now atleast i can run full antutu benchmark now matter how many times i run it! thats why stock is best with disabled debloated apps and obviously no Facebook app also!
We do not allow best/rom kernel threads on XDA. What's best for someone else may not be what's best for you. Best advice is to head over to the development section, try some out and see which best suits your needs.

[Q] What the more stable build of CM11 for SP

What the build of FXP or Official is the more stable???
And say me too a good kernel that fit perfectly on the build with support for faux sound
Try both and see for yourself. Not allowed to compare roms.

Sorry I never had any experience, nor interest on using CM11s. However, flashing Williams kernel won't give you root. I am not even sure if William's kernel would work on CM11s But my guess here it will work, as Williams kernel is for Cyanogenmod based ROMs.

Cyanogenmod ROMs are pre-rooted. You won't require any rooting method after getting CM to run on your phone. But however, do note that CM uses Superuser rather than SuperSU.
I underclocked my SP to 1.2GHz and I really don't face any issues. I don't play any heavy games though by the way, so I can't really tell you the game performance. Things to note however, some people faces multiple issues after flashing CM11. Most of them regarding the ROM being very laggy. I hope you won't face this issue, as it is not quite clear how it happened.

You may want to try wiping your phone extra clean for this with hopes that you won't face any lag. Good luck!
