I've done the normal search thing and can't find much info about whether I have a Korean phone or not. I got the phone from Vodafone UK on an upgrade and am using it on Vodafone in the UK.
According to info I have found, the United Kingdom/Ireland product code should be GT-N7000ZBAXEU for unbranded or GT-N7000ZBACPW for Carphone Warehouse. I think my phone is 'unbranded' as it did not have any Vodafone bloatware on it.
No it's not a Korean version. It's just the CSC customer support code.
You can change that yourself if you want. In the phone app, type *#272*IMEI#
replace IMEI with your phones imei code. You will then see a list of service codes. I would recommend DBT for Germany. They get updates sooner
Thanks for the quick reply and helpful information.
-EDIT- For others reading this - changing the code using the steps above seems to reset your phone to factory defaults, losing all install apps and user data in the process (well it did for me when I changed from KOR to XEU)
I have an A30 that I purchased in India. It was region locked to India so I had to make a 5 minute call with an India SIM card to be able to use the phone in other countries.
My question is - if I install other ROM's available here will the Region Lock be reset, requiring me to make the 5 minute call again to unlock the phone for other countries? I won't be going back to India for quite a while if ever is why I am asking.
Hi i would like to know how to unlock region lock?
I don't know the cellular network provider
The original region is USA and i live outside of USA.
Thank you
You can try flashing the Samsung unlocked U1 firmware using Odin.
I have an S20 FE from Three UK. There is branding when you turn the phone on and off (their logo), so I downloaded and installed the UK BTU firmware however during set up it still installs the carrier extra software (Three app, Three branding etc despite me not having a Three SIM in during the process, I have an EE SIM instead) - there is no option not to install this software, it seems to be compulsory? I did think that putting on unbranded BTU firmware would solve this problem, but maybe not? Anyone got any pointers? Thank you. If I go into the phone settings and check the software version it still says H3G,H3G,etc instead of BTU?
hello, i got the s23 from a different country (china) and I live in Tunisia. Can I change the firmware to my countrys one without any problems ? could this affect the device functions in any way ?
yes, you can change the firmware of your phone. First need identify the variant model of your phone to find the correct firmware to flash.

thank you, my model is SM-S9110 can i use the SM-S911B FIRMWARE or just another country with my same model SM-S9110 (in my case looks like only Taiwan or Hong Kong) ?
I have 911b
I want to change the firmware to 9110
Is it possible?
This is confusing to say the least:
Firmware variant change
Hello I have s23 s911b/ds I would install china firmware of variant s9110 Is it possible?
forum.xda-developers.com
From the looks of it the 911b has the same hardware as 9110.
I'm also curious if this would work - would love to put the 911b firmware on a 9110.
Via Odin you can't change a Chinese SM-S9110 to a US phone. You can change it to a Hong Kong or Taiwan phone. Hong Kong has Google Play preinstalled. Careful if you do try flashing the USA XAA variant to a Chinese phone, the phone will get stuck in a soft brick. None of the recovery methods online worked (emergency recovery etc.), I had to unlock the bootloader from the download menu, then it would boot again. I relocked it but the damage is done. Goodbye Samsung apps that rely on Knox security, they will never come back. Note I was able to flash Hong Kong firmware with the bootloader locked, which would have been ideal had I known that ahead of time.
i bought my SM-S9110 in mainland china today (from JD). surprisingly i could activate google services straight from the menu.
i couldn't find google play store in the phone so i installed it from apk. when running the install it said "update" rather than "install". so i guess play store was also already there somehow.
what i am confused about is eSIM. it seems not to have it. can't find it in the seetings and also on the box there where only stickers with the IMEIs for the physical SIM-slots.
would a SM-S9110 bought in HongKong have a eSIM functionality?
The SM-S9110 is the same hardware across China, Hong Kong, Taiwan. I followed the guide for activating the eSIM on US models (which only have 1 SIM card slot) and this phone doesn't have it. BTW I bought mine from JD.com as well, ordering in Chinese and using Google Translate JD apparently also sells the US model which has an eSIM, if that's what you want. But you can't root a US phone if that's what you are looking to do. I rooted mine just because I already tripped Knox, it isn't that difficult, and everything works except Samsung Pass and Wallet which I find pretty useless next to Google Pay, which also works rooted with the right Magisk modules.
I also recently just bought the SM-S9110 from JD, currently live in China. So just to make sure, I can only flash the HK version of the firmware if I want to get rid of the chinese stuff? Will that affect the warranty on my phone?
I have a SM-S911B/DS , can i flash it with SM-S911W ?

If you unlock bootloader then Samsung Pay can't be used on all firmware.
For Shealth ect is a patched app available or you can install KnoxPatch with LSPosed. Search on XDA.

before i had two S10e (one from Mainland SM-G9708, and one from Hongkong SM-G9700). i could both flash with the other ones firmware, and back. no problem. i guess would be the same with SM-S9110.
