Alright so i woke this morning and my moto G is not charging with either the ac adpater or the computer. My phone is not rooted it is currently dead. The only way that my computer recognizes the phone is when i put it on bootloader that is the only time it recognizes it as a device does anyone know why this has ahppened and is there anything i can do.
same thing here..
I am about to return the phone. Just have to relock the bootloader )

I bought a Moto G 2014 Dual Sim XT1068 back in November and hadn't had any issues with it until today. I bought an anger 3000MaH portable battery pack and was amazed at how quickly it charged my phone. I used it yesterday and charged it overnight. I used it throughout today. I turned it off around midday and plugged it into my charger. When I attempted to turn it on later nothing happened. No, please charge, no **** has crashed, just nothing. The screen just stays dark. My computer no longer recognises it as a device and my portable charger will no longer recognise it as a phone to be charged, I know this because it worked with a friends phone, but not mine, and it still has battery (the charger)
What should I do?
Do I use ADB, ask Anker, return it, what is my best course of action?
If anyone knows what to do please reply as until this is fixed I do not have any ideas.
PS; No rooting, bootloader unlocking, or use of custom ROMs has occurred, the phone is completely using stock android.

I soft-bricked mine yesterday because TWRP kept crashing when I flashed my ROM. During my search for a solution I ran into a post from a guy with a similar problem of yours. His phone wouldn't charge at all.
He solved his problem by pressing PWR+VolDwn for 3 minutes. Then plug it in to a charger and leave it be. And make sure to use a proper charger (cable straight from the wall preferably)
Give that a try. Try ruling out a hardware problem. And return it as a last resort. Good luck

TRY this plug in charger and hold power for 2 mins+ to force a reset and forced boot up - holding for 120 seconds + is the key and repeat charger cable must be plugged in.
- power and volume down is normally to get to AP fastboot flash mode, agreed a good wall charger is needed not usb port power.

Okey, you are probably right. I was quoting from my foggy mind

Hey there fellow Moto X users!
Here is my problem, my (unlocked with root and stock rom/kernel) Moto X doesn't charge anymore, nor detect the usb, when connected, it keep rebooting, shows the charging icon, and it reboots again forever in a loop. If it reachs the bottom of the safe battery level, it doesn't reboot anymore, charges a few minutes to 1%, and here we go again. Note that when in 1%, i can turn on the phone and boot correctly, but not charge or connect to the pc. I tested the charger and the usb with other smatphones and they work like a charm.
Sorry for bad english....
Could be a stuck power button. You may need a service center to check it. Or google repairing it yourself.
That's all I can think it could be.
Maybe a damaged USB port too.
You did try another cable and charger?
I have a Moto X 2013 XT1053, and i intalled the retail brazil for lollipop 5.0.2, but my SIMcard did not worked with it, so i downgraded my phone to the 4.4.3 retail Tmobile (which the phone originally came with). And i decided to update from 4.4.3 to 4.4.4, so i left my phone updating, and when i looked at it, it seem not wotking, not even turning on for fastboot or recovery mode, it just turn on a green led (like 5 or 10 seconds) in the top of the phone when i connect to my PC using the original USB cable that came with the phone. I have read a lot from this and this may seem like a hard brick. Does this have a solution? Can I use a factory or fastboot cable to make it work?
the green LED indicates they battery is critically low.Charge the phone for 1 hour or so.It should boot up.
Now,after reverting back to 4.4.3,if you take 4.4.4,possibly you are bricked. you should get the 4.4.4 full sbf, and flash it without pt.bin

I'm using the cable that came with the device, but it is not charging, so i'm wondering if i need a factory cable to unbrick my phone, i don't want to buy one, and then realize that it doesn't work. And does it work if i replace the battery?
Also, i may look like an idiot, but, what is a sbf?

The green LED means the battery is critically low. Leave it plugged in over night and see what happens. Try a different cable and a different wall charger. I charge mine with a Samsung cable and a Griffin cable and it works fine. It doesn't have to be a motorola OEM cable or wall charger.
You may need a new battery.
I have a Moto X which won't charge, I got a cable -- when I plug it into the laptop and the phone , the phone boots immediately. adb doesn't recognize the phone. I tried switching off and the "three finger salute" to no avail. What now...?
Other than not charging, was there anything else wrong with the phone?
What exactly are you trying to do?
The phone boots immediately to what?
How does the laptop see the phone in Device Manager?
