Lost the text messaging notifications

Hi there!
For some reason I lost the text messaging notifications. "1 unread message" does appear when a new message is received, but no more popup notification and sound. Any idea what could be the case?
In settings, notification & sounds, I made sure that a sound is appointed.

[Q] Messages Notification

Hi I noticed that on my IS,eventhough I turn off the received messages notification sound and alert in settings whenever I received new messages it will sound and show messages icon on the status bar.So for intance if U use Go SMS or Handsent eventhough U already disable the stock Messages notification in settings U will still get them ..now twice ,one from the apps(go sms or handsent) and the other from stock messages! This is annoying!Anyone have the same issues? Thanks

[Q] No SMS Notification AT ALL

I recently deleted my old SMS app, GoSMS, and wanted to switch back to the default Messages app. However, after deleting GoSMS and setting the messsages app as the default sms application, I stopped getting any notification of SMS messages, both on the lock screen and status bar. My phone doesn't even vibrate when aanew message is received. If I'm using my phone when I receive a text it says "The Messages app crashed" so I know I got a text, but no notification of the text at all. PLEASE HELP.

[Q] Text notifications showing as "unread messages" on pull-down display

After upgrading to Lollipop just 2 days ago, my SMS notifications on the pull-down display no longer show the actual text message, but instead show "# unread messages" (# indicates unread count). It was nice having the message preview so I could see if the text was important or not.
I have made Message+ a priority notification app. Not sure what else I can do I didn't find any options in the Message+ settings menu. Anyone have any suggestions or a fix?
HELP
I am having this same issue. I have tried everything.
Settings > Sound & Notification, scroll to Notification > When device is locked, tap and select "Show all notification content".
