[Q] Should I ....

hey guys,
Im planning to buy a Samsung Galaxy Camera.. but should I wait till 14 march (maybe an updated version?) or just buy it =))
:good:
the only sign of a new version is a Wi-Fi-only version.
not exactly better, but might be cheaper.
first of all, I'd like to thank you for your answer =)
I prefer 3G version was just curious that maybe a better hardware might come up
Get one now.
It's extremely unlikely there will any announcement next week. There are no rumours of any update to this camera (except as someone already said a WiFi only version) I don't see this being updated for at least 12 months as it's really not a mature enough product in terms of how popular it is yet imho.

[DISCUSSION]Android 4.4.3 Update in June?!

Well done, Samsung. They said in the beginning of June that the Update will be available within June. It is now the 19th. Of July and it's not here yet. They better be updating directly to 4.4.4 soon or at least a fast Android L update when it is available.. This is the only bad side of Android: for non-Nexus users it takes literally half a year to receive a MINOR update... Am I the only one that is angry about this problem?

But what's new. Samsung has newer been fast or early with updates.
They would have binned the 4.4.3 update and gone straight to 4.4.4 which makes sense really.
It shouldn't be too long now that we start seeing it roll out to the S5, but as always it's luck of the draw which region gets it first, & how long others have to wait until it reaches them which could be months.
No one really has a good track record when it comes to updates... sure sometimes some are better than others but if you want to go a non nexus device you have to deal with it
They are taking their time for sure... Sony, HTC already beat them to the punch (dunno about LG).
I only can remember the supposed document that didn't seem so real to be honest, when did Samsung publish an update schedule?
As said before in this thread, they most likely cancelled 4.4.3 to go all the way to 4.4.4 but even Sony has released that now.
i hope they will jump directly to android L

Reason for that being that both HTC & Sony software's isn't as bloated as Touchwiz is, tbh i think this generation of Touchwiz is actually worst performance wise & looks than the last gen on the Note 3 & S4.

Both Sony and HTC have a lot of code to add as well, but they are executing much better.
I suspect the delays are due to Samsung pushing a lot of devices at the same time and having limited engineering resources.
Most likely they are working on the Note 4 at the moment... and the 16 new devices they keep pushing every month.

Yes, you're the only one. Do you even know what .3 and .4 updates are? They're mostly security fixes that OEMs probably fixed in their builds before Google's own Nexus factory Android.

A; we weren't promised the update at all. there was a rumour started because of a heavily cropped image
B,the minor security fixs were possibly put in the NG update we all just got
C you start the thread with a promise of discussion but the op is typical OEM slamming that ive come to expect.
D there is no D because the first 3 were so good
Mod Edit
As has been suggested , not much "Discussion" going on...

No updates for the t805 from launch

Anyone else frustrated with Samsung for not supporting their products properly? I have not gotten a single update since a few weeks from launch and the tab s can still be sluggish at times. Unfortunately this is still the best android tablet that can make calls so I don't really have a choice. Hopefully Samsung can smoothen everything out with Android L
*waits for android L 4 months later* lol. They have so many devices to update each and everyone. Awell at least we got some custom roms!
Samsung is very cunning when it comes to making their hardware obsolete after a few months. They update the phones to the newest version of Android but make sure to leave out visual designs to make it look old.
You're a bunch of cry babies. Patience is a virtue. ? will come..
I guess by 1st quarter of 2015 well be getting lolipop

Android 6 Marshmallow for Android One

It's the birth of another sweet treat going to come to Android One in a matter of weeks. I'm sure all of you readers are excited.
Just a few heads up before you get too much enthused though...
1) Know that Google has been working to provide regular security updates over the past few months. This means there should not be a huge delay in the update schedule, unlike last year. Now Google has to serve its new customers in Indonesia, Philippines, Pakistan,Turkey,Nigeria,UK, Spain and Portugal instead of just India and Bangladesh, so its obvious that it will look after its babies.
2) Know that in order to get the Android 6 update, you have to have a free storage space of at least 10% of the system memory otherwise it won't download. Further, if you're rooted, install back the stock ROM and stock Bootloader otherwise the installation will result in an error.
Lastly, don't forget to share it when you have received the OTA.
The expected release is in mid October

I waiting for this update since first developer preview!
But I'm a little sceptical....
You are 100% sure that first generation will get official update to 6.0?
Or we have to wait for a custom rom based on marshmallow?
Im pretty sure that the 1st gen will get 6.0 update.
coz If I'm not mistaken google says that they will support the 1st gen android one devices for 2 years.

I know that but on some sites says that Google will support them just 18 months. That is my mainly concern
I hope initial release M not too buggy.
On the official Android.com they say it's for 2 years, till august 2016

Earlier post from Dave Burke, VP of Engineering, Android mentioned in the blog post "Starting next week, Android 6.0 Marshmallow will begin rolling out to supported Nexus devices around the world, including Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Nexus 7 (2013), Nexus 9, Nexus Player, and Android One"
http://android-developers.blogspot.in/2015/09/android-marshmallow-ready-for-devices.html
Now, they have updated and mentioned only for Nexus devices. Not sure when we will receive it now.

By 'UK', are you referring to the Karbonn Sparkle V that is available through Amazon UK and 7DayShop? BQ deliver their 2GB RAM M.5 to the UK but it is not an Android One device - the 1GB RAM A4.5, which is based on the M4.5 but with a five-year guarantee taking the place of the extra gigabyte of RAM - only delivers to Spain and Portugal.
Congratulations guys!!
Android One has started receiving marshmallow....
