[Q] Myself contact taken from ActiveSync account instead of Google+ - Xperia Z3 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a few Google+ accounts and an Exchange ActiveSync account on my phone. But in the contact list the 'Myself' contact apparently syncs with the ActiveSync, which has no picture or other information. The only information there is my Exchange e-mail address in the phone field. It's not possible to connect it to my real contact either, which is further down in the contact list.
Any ideas how to make the Google+ contact as "Myself" instead of the Exchange contact?

Outlook email setup

I have set up a Gmail account so that I can receive emails from my Outlook acct. on my pc. Only problem is, when I reply to an email, it sends thm to me. Is there any way to just set up Outlook so that I don't have to have the secondary gmail acct?? I need a Domain name and server address. Anyone with any idea? TX!
If you set up Gmail from your PPC using m.google.com as server w/out a domain, uncheck tasks in sync settings, you will only get your own reply if you select reply all.

Backup HD7 contacts to HOTMAIL

hi i have a problem here
I use to save new contacts in the HD7, assuming it will update the HOTMAIL contacts database when i sync the account
but now I look that it doesnt sync the contacs to my HOTMAIL account and also it erase the contacts (from HD7) that i dont have in the HOTMAIL account
how do i can solve this?
i mean, i dont want to be updating HOTMAIL contact list one by one....
WP7 is starting tu upset me
Is hotmail the only email account you have it set up for? Exchange, Gmail, anything like that?
Either way, go to Setting --> Email and Accounts -->Windows Live and see what is set up to sync.
I have 2 hotmail accounts one for the contacts that i dont use for email
and one for the email...
but in no one update the contacts...
in the "primary" (Contacts) one... it only have the option to sync email

When you Edit a contact, it should give you an option to choose which account the contact you want to edit is from, provided that you have multiple contacts linked up and sync'd to multiple accounts.
If you only have 1 account that sync contacts, your phone should automatically be editing that contact on that 1 account, and it should update to the server almost immediately.
If you have no accounts that are syncing contacts (including no initial Windows Live ID tied to the phone), then your contacts will save to your device.
At least thats how it is supposed to be working.
I've never had any issues syncing to my Hotmail Contacts account. It has worked flawlessly since day 1.
I've never had a any luck syncing contacts to my hotmail account. I even lost 75% of them cos i got frustrated and decided to flash my phone regardless.
My friend uses hotmail to sync his contacts and he was saying yesterday something about him having to log on to his hotmail account on a desktop pc before his contacts would sync. I'll try and find out more about what he meant cos it didn't make much sense to me.
I use my gmail account to sync contacts now and I must admit it's been flawless. ever contact I create on my phone gets synced to my gmail account. Who'd have thought that would work better than MS's own hotmail?

Android Sync Adapter

Hi all,
I'm not by any means a developer, but I am trying to locate the issue of why the e-mail client (Exchange) won't sync two-ways. In other words, if I read an email on my phone is will be marked read on PC, but not the other way around...the email will stay unread on phone when read on PC.
I was taking a look at the Sync Tester in the Development tools and noticed that there is a Registered Sync Adapter for Exchange contacts and Exchange Calendar, but not one for Exchange Email. I also noticed that my Google account does have a sync adapter for Contacts, Calendar AND Gmail.
I am thinking this is the reason that Gmail will sync so perfectly and E-mail won't. It makes me wonder how complicated it would be to create a sync adapter for Exchange email.
Please forgive if this is not in the right section, it seemed development related to me, but what do I know.
I use Touchdown and emails read/checked on my phone or PC are marked as read on the exchange server, therefore being marked as read when using OWA or Outlook or on my phone.

[SOLVED] Sync gmail contacts through exchange?

Anyone knows why I can't sync my contacts with the build in HTC exchange application? Mails and calender work fine.
Contacts do sync correctly with a google-gmail-account instead of exchange-gmail-account. But if that works, that is another account less to sync.
Now i use google-gmail-account only for contacts.
And exchange-gmail-account for al the other stuff.
They are the same account!
I prefer exchange so I have all my pop/imap/exchange accounts in one interface instead of using the gmail applications. I also found that the push of exchange works faster than the push of google-account.
SOLVED
Apparently gmail through exchange only sync contact when they are in the group "My Contacts". You can select all your contacts and ad them to the groep in one single click at the gmail webpage.
The group "My Contacts" does not show up in the phone's address book as a feature. So you wont notice it on your phone.

My OP3T is also sync with my office exchange for emails, contacts & calendars. When you want to call or send email, if you begin to type the contact name a live search is made on the exchange directory.

Thanks for your answer. May I know which email client are you using please?
I am using Gmail to sync with my exchange server and it seems to only search for my 500 contacts but not the exchange directory.
As for calls , do you mean once you key in the 1st few numbers it will begin to search for those in the exchange directory as well? Doesn't seems like mine is doing it though.

I also use Gmail email client with Exchange. Your personal contacts and suggested contacts address book are localy sync on your phone.
GAL sync is a contact provider, so the search work in all apps with the contact capability. GAL contacts are search online.
I am the Exchange sysadmin of my office and I already seen some issues like this. Exchange can handle a limited number of activesync devices (10 AFAIR).
Ask you Exchange sysadmin to clean your devices pairing, delete your Exchange account on your phone and add it again.
Hope that help.

Ho I forgot it. You can clean your devices yourself.
In a web browser, open your exchange account in Outlook Web App (exchange webmail UI) of your organization.
On the top/right open "Options" menu, and click "see all options". it will bring you in ECP (exchange control panel).
On the left you have a phone item, select one by one devices and the black cross (delete).
