[SOLVED] Charging very slowly after turning off automatically because of low battery - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
2 days ago my phone turned off from 6% battery level and then I plugged it in, the LED was blinking as the voltage of battery was very low.
Anyway I turned it on after about 30 mins and now it charges very slowly and even using wifi during charging drains the battery!
How can I solve this?

I had the same exact problem as you did, just last week. I spent the good part of a Saturday afternoon trying to hunt down the culprit only to finally solve the issue by changing out my USB cable and power supply. If you've got another cable, give it a shot, it can't hurt.

I'm really surprised but it worked! I only changed the USB cable and everything's fine now.
Thank you so much.

Dead Battery or Hardware?

Recently my ATT Tilt was working great until I charged it overnight once. Before i charged it i flashed it, maybe thats why it stopped working. I charge it all night and then wake up and still have an orange light not green. Then today i tried to jumpstart my battery and then i woke up the light was green. I was excited but when i turned it on it said low battery then shut off.
idk what it is battery or hardware.
and i think my warranty is out! "/
Can someone plz help me out.
Quality control was out of the building at HTC when they built the Tilt!!! Same problem

Damn Kaiser. Same problem. Will come on when the cable is connected to the laptop or when I connect the charger. Is this the same problem.
im having similar problems, get a multimeter and test the voltage on the battery before and after charging to see if the battery is the culprit.
maybe even try jump starting the battery and seeing if the voltage changes... my battery wont even hold a 1% charge
wow, 4 different people at the same time. I say try running the phone while it is connected to a power source (charger, computer). If it works fine there, I'd say order a new battery if you want to use it still. I just order a new battery for mine for about 15 bucks. Mine is not at the point yours is. My battery is good for about half a day or maybe 2 hours of a phone conversation and its toast. In standby with every thing turned low, it can go for a while but if I use it, it drains fast.
Good luck, and please update us on your status.
I just posted a similar problem I had with a friends Kaiser
My friends Kaiser is no longer charging properly and I have not been able to ascertain the problem.
When plugged in the Orange LED light comes on as normal and the phones says charging under power(settings), however the power levels continue to fall.
I have tried charging with AC charger as well as USB and used two different batteries that I confirmed working in my Kaiser.
the USB socket looks to be in perfect shape and I have cleaned all contacts. I am at a loss just hoping some one can shed some light
The main thought I have (not really helpful though) is that I have my kaiser to test with and both batteries are fine the phone simply wont charge them.

[Q] After 100% charge, battery starts discharging!

Hello guys!
In these last few days i've experienced a strange "bug" on my phone using a JVK portuguese custom rom: I charge the phone overnight, and i leave it on the wall charger for a few hours after the full charge until i wake up and get up...
However, in these last days, when i remove the phone from the charge, the battery drops instantly, yesterday to 75%, today to 85%,as if, when it reached 100%, stopped charging and didn´t mantain battery near full charge...
I have NoLed, wich drains battery when is on for a long time, but the phone is connected to the wall charger, so it shouldn't drain...
Anyone with similiar problem?
Thank you.

i got the same exact problem as you.. be it jv1/jvk.. even for official jvb
infact it discharge faster then usual.. becoz the phone didn't really go into deep sleep mode while charger was plugged in.
I noticed this as well, for me turning wifi off when charging stops the issue.

Weird thing...
Thanks, I will try this tomorrow...
But do you think it stops the issue or, because the wifi is off, it sucks less battery, thus leaving to thing the bug is resolved?

[Q] CM 11 (JCSullins): Battery not charging?

I installed JCSullins 4.4.4 CM 11 from 9/13/14. Thanks to the Toolbox, the process went extremely smoothly. I ran into a small issue though. The battery would charge properly overnight for the first week or so. Then I noticed that the battery wasn't getting charged (no charging indicator) but a reboot would fix the issue and the battery would start charging again. This morning, the battery won't charge at all, even with a reboot. It shows 51% and discharging. I tried different chargers but none seem to have an effect. I haven't had a chance to plug it into a laptop yet to see if the USB port is broken. Has anyone else had battery issues after upgrading? If the USB port is indeed broken, would a charging dock (Touchstone?) charge the TP?
Might be Cable problem
Hi,
I've been using this rom for about 3 days and didn't noticed any problems in charging. What I had in the earlier days is battery drain in lowest clock frequency. Then i rebooted it 5 to 6 times and then problem got solved also deep sleep started working.
You can check the cable and the charging adapter. It might be the blacksheep.

Thanks for your reply. I tried using other chargers and cables and nothing seems to make a difference. Oddly enough, the charge has dropped to 15% and if I leave it plugged in all day/night, it doesn't drop beyond whatever % it was last at. As an example, if I leave it unplugged and the charge drops to 10%, it will stay at 10% when the TP is plugged in. The battery icon also shows charging for a minute or so, then stops again.
Just as a follow, at least one other user has this problem. See the 4.4.4 thread in the developer section. Unfortunately, I cannot post in a developer until I have at least 10 posts. Sigh.

[Q] Used wrong charger, battery jumped to 100%

I wanted to quickly transfer something from my laptop to my new Droid Turbo, so I quickly grabbed a USB cable thinking it was my Droid Turbo's cable. I had accidentally grabbed my 2012 Asus Nexus 7 cable instead. I plugged it into a USB 3.0 port on my laptop and after transferring some things for two minutes I noticed my battery was at 100%. I thought this was strange as my battery had only a few minutes ago been 87%. That's when I realized I was using the Asus cable.
Should I be concerned? I usually almost religiously never mix chargers.
Edit: I have just discovered that the cable is damaged and partially pulling out from the USB end.. could this have anything to do with it?
I had the same issue, connected my phone to a USB 3.0 port to backup some date and was shocked at how fast it supposedly charged up to 100%. I used a 3 y/o cable from an old Galaxy S3.
USB 3.0 has nearly double the power output of USB 2.0. So that could have something to do with it. Using a different cable or slightly torn one won't make a difference. The battery percentages also aren't the most accurate all the time. Your battery should be fine.

A USB 3 cable going to a standard USB 2 micro port? No voltage difference.

When using a standard USB cable the port does not matter.
I do think the calibration of the battery is off. I've had it go from 93 percent to fully charged on my qi charger just a minute ago, and yesterday twice, once on the turbo charger and an usb port on my laptop. I fully drained the battery the first day, Friday, and I think either it's still learning or the calibration is off. It seems to show it draining quickly the first sixty percent, then really slow down the last forty. Now I don't like letting the battery drain too low, decreases the battery life and capacity, hopefully it learns or next update clears this up.
This also happened to me on a usb3 port, but with the original cable. I jumped from 88% to 100% in about 5 seconds. This can't be right. Has to be a bug.
I don't think this is related to faulty chargers/cables. I had the same thing happen to me yesterday using my car charger for the first time (that I've used on 10+ other devices without issue) and the phone shot up to 100% in a few minutes. Ever since I used that charger all my other chargers that were previously working fine (turbo, qi, etc.), are charging the phone too quickly as well. I hope someone can figure out a fix for this, or an update comes out soon. I just wiped my device and set it up again, I'll report back if it's fixed.
I had this issue, I killed the battery thinking it would fix the issue when It charged, It did not. I factory reset and that also did not fix the problem. phone would show as 100% charged even when really only 3% charged. I ended up getting a replacement from VZW store.
Update - replacement phone from VZW is doing the same thing, only charger that I have used is a TYLT qi compliant wireless charger. (shows 100% for 6hrs)
Also are you guys on system version 21.21.12 or did you take the update?
Same issue here. Started today. Had since release. Exclusively use Tylt Vu charger. Have latest update. On Dalvik.

Mostly same here. Used the Tylt Vu exclusively, then used the Turbo charger once or twice. Phone was stuck at 100% for twelve hours yesterday, dropped to 93% after reboot. It appears confused as to what it should really be at. Seems that the Tylt Vu is the common thread here.
Fixed mine! after holding the power button for about 20 seconds the phone will shut off, I then charged the phone with the Turbo charger overnight which reclibrated the battery meter. This has not happened again since doing this.
Hope this helps!

This also solved the problem for me, thank you!! (I had also plugged into a usb3.0 port before this issue occured, hope they address this with a patch or some kind of fix).
I'm also having strange battery problems the past few days. The other day, randomly around 4pm I happened to notice my battery said 97%...just not possible since it had been off charger since 6am.. Yesterday, battery showed 35% and then died 2 mins later, powered off. Tried the power button for 20 and charged overnight, but on my qi charger I woke up to it only partially charged and not charging anymore. took off and put back on charging pad and it charged some more until morning. It seems the battery isn't calibrated and not showing the correct readings...anybody else? (oh, and it's a samsung charging pad)

unplug it from everything, hold power button till it shuts off, it will then show an accurate % reading. Plug into the turbo charger that came with it and walk away for an hour. Should re-calibrate and get you back to normal (assuming the issue you're having is the same as ours). this worked for me. good luck!

Sorry, needs to be plugged into turbo charger, I told you out of order, my bad.
plug into turbo charger, hold power till it cycles on it's own (you'll see the real %), leave plugged in and walk away for an hour.
Solved all of my problems, good luck!
(seems like this is caused by plugging into usb3.0 ports, and possibly some qi chargers. I use an lg qi charger overnight and have not had the issue. It happened to me when I plugged it into a usb3.0 port on a laptop).
great! this worked for me! thanks!
Well for me I've had this bug since day 1 and none of the fixes are permanent -- there's a bug in the software on Moto's side that needs to be dealt with. I posted a thread on Moto's support forum in hopes of raising the profile of this issue cause it's a showstopper for people like me who rely 100% on Qi.

Hi all,
I've had this same issue and I'm not sure when this happened, but I certainly noticed it immediately after using Qi charger for the first time.
Can we confirm if anyone on this thread had this issue by using a wired charging device, or whether this issue is synonymous with Qi charging?

My Mi5 does not charge after the battery was drained.

Hello. My Mi5 does not charge after the battery was drained. Yesterday it was normally charging and everything was OK. At 23:30 I had 1% battery and it lasted for around 2 hours. When I got back to home with dead battery i tried to charge it but nothing happens. I dont know the reason. I tried to change usb cable, usb adapters and nothing works. Do you guys have any idea how to fix that?
Have you tried leaving it on charge for an hour or so to make sure it isn't just trickle charging very slowly before it can turn on?
I left phone connected for all night and it didnt get any result ? By the way the LED doesnt light also
Have u tried to change charger?
Yes, and if a different charger doesn't work, I'd check if the phone boots into fastboot when plugging into a computer usb port and holding the volume down button.

Yeah, and every charger fails ?
facing the same... Is your issue resolved?
takes time to recharge it back.
The issue is since the battery is completely drained. It takes time to recharge it back. Mine took approx 5 Mins to turn on.
I'm facing the exact same issue with my Mi5S. Went to 0% last night and now it doens't give the slightest sign of life. Tried living it connected to charger the whole night and nothing. Also tried different combinations of chargers and cables but no success.
Did you get any solution to your problem?
Cheers.
