My Mi5 does not charge after the battery was drained. - Xiaomi Mi 5 Questions & Answers

Hello. My Mi5 does not charge after the battery was drained. Yesterday it was normally charging and everything was OK. At 23:30 I had 1% battery and it lasted for around 2 hours. When I got back to home with dead battery i tried to charge it but nothing happens. I dont know the reason. I tried to change usb cable, usb adapters and nothing works. Do you guys have any idea how to fix that?

Have you tried leaving it on charge for an hour or so to make sure it isn't just trickle charging very slowly before it can turn on?

I left phone connected for all night and it didnt get any result ? By the way the LED doesnt light also

Have u tried to change charger?

Yes, and if a different charger doesn't work, I'd check if the phone boots into fastboot when plugging into a computer usb port and holding the volume down button.

Yeah, and every charger fails ?

facing the same... Is your issue resolved?

takes time to recharge it back.
The issue is since the battery is completely drained. It takes time to recharge it back. Mine took approx 5 Mins to turn on.

I'm facing the exact same issue with my Mi5S. Went to 0% last night and now it doens't give the slightest sign of life. Tried living it connected to charger the whole night and nothing. Also tried different combinations of chargers and cables but no success.
Did you get any solution to your problem?
Cheers.

Strange charging problem

I installed ICS RUU some weeks ago and all has been well.
All of a sudden now when I plug in the wall charger it takes about 30s or so for the charge led to light up or for the phone to indicate that it is being charged. Likewise when the wall charger is unplugged it also takes some time for the charge indicator to go out with the phone still thinking its being charged.
With the USB cable the PC ding dongs immediately but the charge led will take 30s or so before it turns on and I no longer get the prompt for charge only, HTC sync etc.
In all instances the battery does eventually charge fully.
I have rebooted the phone but same problem.
Any ideas what's going on here?
SOLVED.
I removed and refitted the battery. Back to normal.
Thought I would leave the complete post with solution in case someone else experiences the same problem.
i'm having a problem where i put my battery in (think its completely drained)
the light for charging will flash for about 5 sec then go off
try reinserting again. this time it blinks for a bit goes solid then off after a few sec
try one more time this time its solid for about 5 sec then off again. best i can get it to do. if i do this about 10-15 times the screen led light comes on then off and thats it.
any ideas? is there a way to charge it without it in the phone?
@WK - you could try resetting battery stats. I believe that option is available in CWM custom recovery.
I've seen aftermarket batteries and chargers for the Vivid on eBay.

Yes there are inexpensive chargers that you can get for these batteries on Ebay. You may even want to get one including a battery.
Having said this have you tried charging using a USB cable from the PC?
You may have a faulty battery or a faulty charger port both of which should be covered by your warranty.
try this too
try plugging the phone in without the battery connected, boot it up that way if it will let you, and then insert the batt while the phone is on..let it charge for a bit.. and see if that helps. Not the safest method, but it almost sounds like you've got the older recovery with the phone off charge issue.
Hope you get it figured out.
EDIT: Don't bother..i just tried it won't boot that way. I was assuming that it might go both ways, bc i know when the phone is on you can pull the batt and as long as its plugged it it stays on.

[Q] Phone Dead...

My battery totally died last night and powered off when it ran out of battery however now I cannot charge the phone at all. It was on charge all night and no charging light comes on. Ive tried with the mains cable, usb cable to pc and in car charger.
Does anyone have any suggestions to get it working again?
Thanks
Did it just randomly die? Is there anything you did beforehand that could influence it, like dropping it (in water)?
I'm not entirely sure what it could be, but if you could provide this info, others mide have an easier time troubleshooting.

HI
greetings,
connect the phone to charger and press and hold the power button for 30 sec and see if the led is flashing
if not then connect to pc and try to boot into bootloader menu and tell what happens. weather it boots, does it just vibrates or does the led flash

[SOLVED] Charging very slowly after turning off automatically because of low battery

Hi
2 days ago my phone turned off from 6% battery level and then I plugged it in, the LED was blinking as the voltage of battery was very low.
Anyway I turned it on after about 30 mins and now it charges very slowly and even using wifi during charging drains the battery!
How can I solve this?

I had the same exact problem as you did, just last week. I spent the good part of a Saturday afternoon trying to hunt down the culprit only to finally solve the issue by changing out my USB cable and power supply. If you've got another cable, give it a shot, it can't hurt.

I'm really surprised but it worked! I only changed the USB cable and everything's fine now.
Thank you so much.

My Sprint HTC ONE M8 (Harmon Kardon edition) will not charge, please help!

Hi, my HTC One M8 was acting very odd as of yesterday. I usually leave it charging over night but this morning it only charged to 60 percent, I disregarded it and continued on with my day. I found that during the day my phones battery was decreasing rather faster than usual. When I got home it was dead, so I charged it and it turned on but stayed on 1 percent. I was given the notification that said "phone charging too slow, try original charger," when I was using the original charger. I unplugged the USB cable and put it back in hopes of getting rid of that notification, only to find that I was greeted by a new notification that stated, "phone not charging, try different charger." So I decided to let it charge for an hour, when I came back it was still 1 percent. So I then decided to try charging it with a different cable, different outlet, and different charger. After trying a variety of different combinations nothing changed, then I tried charging it from my PC. It took a while but it got to 13 percent. So I put it back in the wall charger and found that the charge was actually decreasing. So I then found out that I should clean the charging port, there was some lint in it so I cleaned it out by removing it with a paper clip, still I had the same notification. So with the twelve percent I had left I factory resseted it in hopes of fixing my phone. Still even after that, it doesn't charge. So I checked to see if my PCwould still charge it, unfortunately it no longer did. With no charging solution my phone died. I have currently left it plugged into an outlet but the device stays off with it showing the battery charging but it still says 1 percent. I've tried every solution, cleaning the port, different cable, charger, and outlet, even factory resetting. I don't have warranty either. Should I take it to a repair shop? All help is appreciated!

z3compact stuck at 1% batter, dead battery?

my daily phone is out of commission and looking to use my old z3compact for a few days. I tried to charge it and after a few hours its at 1%. It did boot up and says low battery 1% while plugged in. Is the battery dead? Not sure how old the software on it is, maybe software issue?
If so, can I use while plugged in or will that cause it to shutdown?

1.try with other usb and other charger. (akso magnetic if u have)
2.go to a service-gsm or send it to repair to sony(if u still have guaranty)
Problem can be from device connector charging, usb cable, charger, battery, or something from motherboard...
try to charge (leave it also if doesnt charge) for 10-15 minutes...if doesnt work, try to do what i said up
