Anyone running art? - T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just rooted my phone and setting everything up. I noticed that android runtime is now an option in dev options. Anyone switch over from dalvic yet?

Not I. I like xposed modules.

Will wait for android L for what it is meant for.

[Q] ART not working

Hello Guys, since i've flashed twrp and rooted my phone, it doenst run in ART anymore. It keeps returning to dalvik. I change it back to ART and it reboots but with the dalvik. Anyone have any ideia there is some kind of incompatibility between twrp/root and art?
tyvm
Art is not very great at the moment....I wouldn't worry about it personally.

Normally I agree with you kj, but this time I wholeheartedly disagree. I've used ART on my Nexus5 and MotoX and have loved the smoothness and battery life benefits.
OP have you installed xposed? From what I understand it doesn't work with ART and will kick you back to Dalvik. It's one of the reasons I don't use xposed
MotoX GSM Developer Edition, Bootloader Unlocked, Rooted, Stock 4.4.2 Great Britain on T-Mobile !

I've never used art on my N7 or X.....so I'm just going by stuff I've read.
I would never debate anything I didn't have my own experience with. Lol
To me too tho....xposed is essential now...on all my androids...so art is out for me.

Yeap. I was using it and everytime i switched to art and reboot, it came with dalvik. Now after u saying that, i will try remove xposed. Tyvm bud!
On my Dev. Edition running the stock rom 4.4.2 but rooted with TWRP, Art works perfectly fine for me and I have noticed an increase in smoothness. I also am using Xposed and several modules including Gravity Box.
Edit: Nevermind, my bad. Art was working for me then Xposed kicked me back to Dalvik.

Then you're not using ART....
Your "increase in smoothness" is all in your head. If you run Xposed, it resets your runtime to Dalvik, as per the developer:
After installing Xposed, the runtime gets reset from ART to Dalvik. Can you stop it please? You can be glad that I implemented this, otherwise you would be in a bootloop know. Xposed isn't compatible with ART (yet).

Nope
And might not be.
We can only hope another xposed type mod comes on the scene in the coming months. As has been said, xposed might not get re-written for L. Big job by all accounts.
Personally if a battery % and center clock mod came about, I'll be a happy bunny!
Here's the latest about Xposed for Lollipop. Expect it "soon"!

Excellent news (for some)
Anyone installed xposed and the gravitybox mod on the Lollipop GPE stock rom as yet? Just wondering what if any the bugs are like?
Xposed and Gravitybox are bother in Alpha, the latter was released yesterday.

question on xposed framework?

Will the xposed framework work on a root android one phone? Specifically the gravity box mod? Has someone installed the xposed framework on a stock android one rom?
My phone is kind of a daily driver, so just checking to see if some one already has done this and their experience if any.

It works perfect. I've been using the gravity box mod for quite a few days now and it works extremely well without any issues. I'm using stock android one ROM and have faced no issues so far.

Thanks guys. Based on feedback went ahead and rooted stock ROM. Got xposed installed and gravity box running.
Did not loose data as I did not unlock boot loader. So app data remained, which is what I wanted.
Overall, I would recommend anyone with this phone to go with xposed framework.
What are the other modules that you guys are finding helpful apart from gravity box?

Scroll through the list to discover others that you need. Hope this helped

Yes I did. Flashing the zip through recovery gets my phone stuck at boot animation and I have to restore a backup to get the phone back to normal.

[Q] How could I install xposed modules in chroma rom?

I need help to install xposed modules in the chroma rom I have a 64gb Nexus 6 build# LMY47V,android version 5.1.1, and its the latest build of chroma 4/29/15, I will send $5 to the first persons paypal to completely help me Thank you so much.
You can't use Xposed while being on Chroma.
1. Xposed isn't officially supported on Android 5.1.
2. Chroma uses ART everywhere; as a result, Xposed unofficial doesn't work.

Typically any ROM should work assuming they don't use ART everywhere.
As I've reiterated before, Xposed is not officially supported on Android 5.1 just yet.

Xposed Additions

Has anyone been able to install Xposed Additions succesfully on OP3T? I downgraded to MM to be able to use Xposed. Then when I reboot after installing Xposed additions, the phone just hangs at boot.
Anyone else?
Xposed and xposed additions have worked for me on this phone perfectly for 2 months now
I use it everyday for every button and it works perfect now for over 3 years.

He can't be. xposed isn't available on nougat. Further, if you look at his screenshots it says he's on marshmallow.

How did you have downgraded?I am on 4.0.2 want to revert in MM.Thanks
Pretty simple to flash back to MM. You'll obviously loose everything. Just grab the official OP rom from their website: http://downloads.oneplus.net/devices/oneplus-3t/
I was having terrible battery issues on 4.02 (not so much on 4.01). But I had never tried MM so trying that first.

Just to be clear, I got Xposed on but the Xposed Additions module was hanging my phone. Using V87 seems to have done the trick. I guess V86 was causing Additions to hang the phone. Strange.

Do you have any problem using xposed additions? I remember the feedback vibration and the double-click camera functions were lost when I was using it on MM.
