If there were updates installed, first uninstall them, then button will change to disable.

After I changed extensions of this files, call logs doesn't work. The rest seems to work fine. Which file is responsible for call logs?

i have tried all this but getting a pop up all the time which is annoying.
unfortunately the process android.process.acore has stopped
What android version is this list releated to? My guess is for lollipop, is there any updated list for 6.0.1?
I'd like to debloat my TW firmware, any tools available?
I've used Package Disabler app that identify a list of bloatware installed that you can select and disable. It seems very convenient and easy to use.

On the Sprint GS3 we had an "Applications safe to remove" thread and it told you all the bloatware/unnecessary apps that you could remove without harming your phone. Actually HERE is the thread! It'd be awesome if someone could do something like this for our GS4's!
UPDATED: All credit to @Nut_House for the list. He froze A LOT of stuff, so keep in mind freezing some of these apps will cause other stuff on your phone to not work properly!! You can be a bit more selective and freeze/uninstall just the Sprint stuff or whatever you want! Also you can go to the ForceROM OP and look at his list of uninstalled apps as well!

Here's a list of files I froze with TiBu just after receiving my phone when still running stock MDC. I ran this way for two weeks without any problem You should be able to use the same list and just change any references to MDC to MDL. The only reason I quit using this configuration is that MDL came out and I decided to run Unknown's ForceROM to cut down on the number of frozen files.
I actually started with the list from VegasRooted and want to thank him for his work on the S3.
Keep in mind, I like to run pretty lean. You will almost certainly want to be a bit more selective when freezing apps as your needs are unlikely to be the same as mine. Still, there's a ton of crapware to be frozen, even if you leave the Google and Samsung apps alone.
You are strongly encouraged to freeze apps instead of removing them completely. At a minimum you should freeze them for several days before deleting, just to be sure everything works correctly. Also, be sure to clear data first before freezing or you are likely to get FC's.
Finally, as always, be sure you have a current nandroid backup to fall back on, just in case.

On the Sprint GS3 we had an "Applications safe to remove" thread and it told you all the bloatware/unnecessary apps that you could remove without harming your phone. Actually HERE is the thread! It'd be awesome if someone could do something like this for our GS4's! :good:
Sorry if this is in the wrong section!

Forcerom lists all the apps that were removed in the OP http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=40985707here. Maybe go through that and remove what you like?
Sent from the rabit hole.
You will lose features and have issues when freezing or uninstalling apps people just don't usually notice. For instance if you freeze or uninstall SVoice the camera will freeze if you try to use the voice control feature.

Never found a need for S-Voice. Good job on the list! I make it my goal to remove all apps that are useless to me. That's why I think the authors of ForceRom and Kuban are superb.

Titanium or any other system app remover app are really the only choices here. With Root Explorer and other file explorers, you need to know the actual file names and there are no file names listed in this thread.
You should always freeze before deleting.
The Thanks button is just to avoid "THANKS" posts in threads. Nothing more. Don't defeat the purpose of why it was introduced.
Anttek app manager also works for deleting or freezing apps

Why do you say that?

Certainly everyone will pick and choose different items to remove based on their personal usage, without removing everything. I also like only having items installed that I actually use, anything else is considered useless bloat. For example I remove the gmail app and prefer the stock email app to handle all my emails including gmail. I also remove the stock Voicemail app since I use Google Voice.

Because that way you clearly see whether it affects any other functions you use without permanently removing it from your system.

I wondered if anyone else has noticed the sheer amount of soft dependencies that the S-apps have on each other, especially S-Voice. For example S-voice can't make a memo without S-notes and can't retrieve news without Flipboard.
Many other examples exist. S-Notes has options in the settings to sync with Samsung cloud, even if the Samsung cloud syncing apps/services are removed, even the cloud services seem to have some soft dependencies with Dropbox.
All the S-apps will of course function for the most part on their own, but might have such issues or orphan settings, something I just don't like.
A lot of TW ROMS are debloating by removing some of these apps, but I don't know if everyone realizes what I just mentioned.
Personally I would prefer just the Samsung camera, but I have heard (though not tried without) that even it is dependent on S-Voice. If this is so and if it is possible I would hope at some point to see a modded version of the Camera that makes it fully independent.

No, that is not so. I have nearly every Samsung component disabled, including S Voice, and I use the Samsung camera with no problem... maybe there's some feature in there that doesn't work that I've just never hit, but generally, the camera works fine on its own.
Voice Control of Camera, Incoming Calls, Camera and Music are all Dependant on SVoice

I tried a few hours ago, the camera freezes and crashes if you try to turn on voice commands in the camera settings. As long as this is not hit it works, but I hate that they would make the option to say "Shoot" to take a picture dependent on another app.

If they didn't do that than every app you mention would be twice the size because they would have to include the code for those options in each of the individual app.

Exactly, the S4 wasnt made for removing system apps or modifying the system. It was meant to be used the way it is out of the box which is why voice commands for music, camera, alarm and answering calls is dependant on S-Voice... easier to integrate dependancy unto another app versus integrating a sepaeare feature into every one of those lol

Ok, well, we have an interesting discrepancy here them... I just confirmed I have S Voice disabled... I then went into Camera, turned voice control on (it was off to start) and was able to take a picture by saying "Cheese"... no crash or anything, it worked as expected.
I also confirmed I can also still receive incoming calls... I don't use the music app and have it disabled so I didn't check that... so something doesn't jive with what you guys are apparently seeing. Maybe there's something else the camera specifically is dependent on and not S Voice *directly*?
For reference, here's what I currently have disabled... I think 2 or 3 of them I did through Titanium, the rest are just standard "system" disabled... I also have a few other things Greenified, but this is just what's outright disabled...

I moved the S-Voice apk out of the system folder when I tried it, I wouldn't think that it would make a difference versus freezing it though, but maybe that is possible? I didn't do a reboot when I tried, but I would think that if it had no relation to it, it shouldn't matter?
If I disable Svoice and try and take a pic with voice it force closes.

Now that we have the stock tar file, lets see if we can help list some bloatware apps to remove.. anything anyone adds, I'll try my best to update this thread.
Using Titanium Backup
So far I have completely uninstalled:
-T-mobile TV
-T-mobile Name ID
-T-mobile My Account
-Chrome
-Lookout Security
-Google Play Books
-Google Play Music
-Google Play Games
-Google News
Frozen:
-com.tmobile.pr.adapt (keeps asking for SU)
-Device Unlock
-ELM Agent
-KLMS Agent
-Knox
-Knox Setup
-SecurityLogAgent
I am still tinkering with all the 300+ apps we have... If anyone knows anymore to add to the list especially the com.blahblah ones, let us know,
Thanks!

If you just want to disable them you can use Package Disabler from the Play Store to do it without root, but if you want to uninstall them you need root.

+1 Themes suck! I mean, if we had CM12 that would be a different story but we have Touchwiz so the themes do nothing but slow your device down and clutter my Titanium Backup app up... Lol I guess it's good for the people that just want something different and don't care about the negatives so I'm sure it's a welcomed feature 4 some users.
How to stop the annoying "Unfortunately, com.blah has stopped" pop-ups?!
So, I've just finished rooting my T-Mo S6 Edge...
First thing I did was uninstall some bloat.
Bye bye T-Mobile Name ID! -------now com.whitepages.nameid.tmobile pops up every time I swipe to unlock my device. Grrr
Bye bye T-Mobile My Account! --now some other "com" poped up (hasn't since, and I forgot to screenshot it)
Bye bye Amazon (I'll probably use it later, but I'd rather it not forced upon me. plus it uses 50+ megs of ram even though I've never even opened the app) com.amzon.mShop.android pops up
you guys get it...
What can I do? Is it possible to uninstall these "coms"?
From what i read in the thread, it seems like freezing is possible... but I'm not 100% and I'd prefer to be completely rid of them instead of freezing.
However, I'll take what I can get.
Please help.
Thanks,
Christopher
Nice list here Gonna see if any of you have issues before i disable a lot of them.

I found that freezing Smart Manager caused a force close in Settings>Battery. YMMV.

I had it disabled and it removed "Battery" from the settings completely. I was very confused.
Hey, just wanted to point my fellow MTCB users to this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/android-auto/mtcd-discussion-questions-development/food-slow-mtcd-units-t3533764
I used the settings menu and only disabled Google Play Services. Yes, this will break google apps functionality particularly if the app requires a google account to be logged in. Google maps (Online) works and still has traffic functionality as well but no history or saved locations. Multitasking while using Maps so far has been much improved to the point where I can actually now multitask while using maps. No more waiting 5+ minutes for Maps to start working or switching between apps. Other users are reporting that it helps while using other various nav apps as well. (I am using a 5.1.1 Rom)
I do get a notification about updating Services when maps is launched but totally worth for me. I'm certainly no dev but a stripped down version of play services that can work with current google maps would be a perfect workaround for me. If its useful for you guys please give a thanks to Nomader0.
Also, please don't mention upgrading to 2gb of ram. That is an obvious fix for the memory shortage but is not something every user is willing or able to do.
I improved performance by removing a lot of what I perceive to be bloat. Through trial & error, I found the following items safe to remove:
1.0 (backview)
APK Installer
Basic Day Dreams
Black Hole 1.0
Bluetooth (widget)
Bubbles
Calculator 5.1.1
Calendar 5.1.1
Calendar Storage
CanBus 5.1.1
Com.Android.Wallpaper.HoloSpiral
Contacts 5.1.0.2
Contacts 5.1.1
Contacts Storage
Control Settings 1.0
Digital TV 1.0
Documents 5.1.1
Downloads 5.1.1
DVD 1.0
DVR
Email 7.0
Exchange Services 5.1.1
F Cam 1.0
File Manage 1.0
Gallery
Gmail 5.00
Google Calendar Sync 5.01
Google Contact Sync 5.01
Google Pinyin Input 3.3
Instructions 1.0
iPod 1.0
iPod 1.0
Magic Smoke Wallpaper
MMS Services 5.1.1
MMS Google
Music 1.0
Music 1.0 (widget)
Music Visulisation Wallpaper
OEM 1.0
Phase Beam
Photo 1.0
Photo Screensaver
Pico TTS 1.0
Print Spooler 1
Radio (widget)
Sync 1.0
USB iPod 1.0
Vehicle 1.0
Video 1.0
Weather
In addition to those which I noted down, there's probably other obvious apps such as any unused live wallpapers and stuff. Please note that I found "TV 1.0" unsafe to remove, even though I haven't got a TV tuner. If you remove this app, after a boot, it will have to reboot again. So, it gets to the launcher from a cold boot the reboots after a few seconds. From then on, it's OK. This is odd, it must be relying on something within that app even though I don't use it.
Could you please list your specs (unit, Android version, rom, etc.)

Did you use a particular app to remove all of those, or can they all be removed via the standard menus?

Already disabled some with ice box on MCTD with Malaysk ROM. With your list I gonna try to disable few more. Wonder what this one do:
CanBus 5.1.1
Control Settings 1.0
Vehicle 1.0
I disabled TV 1.0 too I'll check what gonna happen.
Don't forget to checkout the work being done with microg (https://microg.org)
https://forum.xda-developers.com/an...nt/mtcd-microg-install-massive-speed-t3581439
I came across microg when I started this thread but my digitizer broke soon after. Never got a chance to try it myself. People have got it working on mtcD not sure if anyone on mtcB has tried it yet.
I have ROM with MicroG and it works great but its always worth to disable some apps to safe memory. On my unit it boot fine without TV 1.0

Contacts (Prevents you from receiving incoming calls)
Samsung APK files
http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/samsung-electronics-co-ltd/
Thank you, but how to get those in phone? Just install the apk file normally?
Hello. I downloaded almost every single app from apkmirror and to your list i need to say:
- S6 edge plus (G928F XEO POLAND) - Contact apps working fine, none of the problems noticed. I didnt installed phone app from 2 updates but 2 udpates ago it had problem: ther was 3rd tab named PLACES and it cannot localize me and show palces. Making calls, answearing calls were working)
- Email app: crash when you try to search in te searchbar
- Gallery: crash when you go to the STORIES tab and try to ADD user to the story.
- Hello Bixby: There is a BIG crash with gallery Panel. I need to DONT ALLOW mass storage then go to bixby settings and turn off gallery panel, now i can allow all eprmisions. But whe you re-enable gallery panel it crash (whole bixby crash).
- Touchwiz Launcher also is working fine, just some app drawer lag (swype up/down gesture drawer opening) and little to small icons and to big gaps but works fine (Bixby workd only with this launcher)
P.S. All aps installed normally. No Root. Cannot install Keybaord (package conflict)
EDIT:
After updates Email, Gallery, Hello Bixby wkrs fine. Launcher is also less laggy.
Help!
When I try to install any Samsung app the message appears: (The app has not been installed a package with that same name already exists.)does anyone know how to solve it? My smartphone does not have root.
