is there eny diferences in hardware??? i mean, at least for me the xperia tx looks better because its thiner and has a biger dispay, but i read in some post, the xperia tx procesor is diferent then the xperia t. another point, i like to use rooms and addons, i was a xperia S user so, i wanna buy a phone that has the same facilities to install all ths things (sry about my english not my native languaje xD )
xperia tx is better all around except when it comes to faster ROM support.
there are more people that have the T, but the TX still is a better phone because it has:
slightly bigger screen (? i think)
same processor
better form factor
removable battery
feels much better
doesn't have the body paint issue
The Xperia T and TX have the same screen as far as I know. It's just that some sites round the screen size (4'55) up to 4'6 or not.
The TX is slightly taller and wider, and a bit thinner, but on the whole you probably wouldn't notice the difference.
TX's main advantage is the removable battery, but you pay a price: less capacity 1750 mAh vs 1850 mAh of the T.
Also, as Fuzalert2k mentions, most devs have the T, so rom variety and development is better.
AW: [Q] xperia tx or t?? i dont know witch to buy! help me :D
i think the most important has been said
i have the xperia t and i'm very happy with the device
Sony Xperia T Black

thanks dudes now i have another problem
hio, so thanks i get my new xperia TX jejejeje beautifull! love it! but i cant root it!! maybe you know how to plx help me ty

T & Tx have same screen quality, only certain old batches of TX got better panel, but the chance to get one of those is extremely rare now.

It's not that rare, you just have to search a little more in Indonesia porducts
In general, both of them are good.
About design of them, X-T looks manly and stronger than TX ( in my opinion)
And XT has water resistant but cant change battery.
But for me, i see the T screen is not good as TX. Its default brightness is to bright. So it does not display true colour like TX. It shows the black colour like grey. Sometimes it display the colour like super amoled.
And more but i dont remember all.
Sorry for my bad English.

Hello,
As i am today a not very-pleased s3 owner, i decided that i will give Sony a try for the first time. After looking much at especially the V and the Z, i`ve decided that the Z will be the phone i will enough pleased with.
Anyway, i habe been reeding alot about this phone the last days, and i keep reading that the screen is not "good" enough, and that is something that concerns me.
So i am asking YOU GUYS that are a lucky owner of the Xperia Z; How does the screen feel like? Is it relly THAT bad as people is talking about? I really want this phone. I love sonys interface and water+dust proof is a must for me these days.
I hope someone can give me a good answer.
Appreciated !
Honestly go out and check it out for yourself.

I would love to check it out, but here in Norway we dont get it before 6-10Mars. I went to the store today to check out the display on the Xperia V, and i gotta say i liked it alot more than my Amoled S3.
AW: So is the screen THAT bad?
Screen is just fine. Lots of exageration.
The vieweing angles are sub-premium, this is true, but perfectly ok. First its only the colours which wash out a bit, its not like you wouldnt see anything anymore plus, to be honest, how often and for jow long do you look at your phone flat and sideways...?
I like the screen a lot. Nice colours to look at, insane resolution and pixel density , everything is so damn crisp and clear. I mean hello, its a flaghship after all, they dont dare to put utter bull**** in it. As I said, lots of exaggeration.
TFT with high resolution. Colors are bad.
Regards
Yesterday I tested 3 Xperia Z with bright pixel. But finally got one that has none.

Depends on your definition of good colors.
When looking at photos vs one x without BE turned on colors are pretty close to the real thing including vibrancy and saturation. Now if you are the kind of person that likes unhealthy yellow skin tones, better than real life colors than yeah colors are no good. When people say it looks washed out they actually mean it is not punchy the truth is that when you look at the real world vs s3 and one x the real world seems to be washed out
Stop this BS already... screen is very good.
The only "problem" with it is colour saturation in UI. When BE2 kicks in, and you're on 60%+ brightness, colours and brightness are amazing. And since BE2 doesn't change the screen's physical properties - it means that the screen itself is perfectly fine. The only thing you can be unhappy with is UI's default saturation values, which are quite low, probably to make the difference between media and UI very noticable.
Also, it's true - "washed out" colours are actually a lot closer to natural colours. If you want very saturated colours all the time - you might not be satisfied. If you want completely oversaturated colours - go for AMOLED, they're amazing in producing rich, highly saturated colours.
For me, coming straight from an S3 to this, it really does look washed out, no mater how you look at it.
However, I think that this is because the S3 had very over saturated colours. If you do decide to go for the XZ, you'll be disappointed at first, but it feels much more premium and you'll start to realise that the S3 seemed like it was in Shop Display Mode all the time!
Ultimately, the choice is yours, but don't be downhearted if you go for it and you're initially unhappy with the screen.
EDIT:
Which is basically what everyone else has already said here.
Maybe Sony should have added a samsung mode where it sets the saturation up to 120%, the contrast to .800 and maximum brightness to 50% so you can't see anything when outdoors.
I think you'll be happy with the screen if you upgraded from other xperia family phones. But if you will compare it side by side with other 1080 LCD phones like htc butterfly, hell even with HTC One X which has 720P and a year older, Z can't match overall display quality. Trust your eyes. To see is to believe.

All Sony screens are very good from my past experience, people are just used to over saturated colors that other companies do to their phones. Also, you eyes will strain much less when you look at Sony screens for extended period of times.
Also, I don't understand what's with the ruckus of angle viewing, seriously, how many of you out there actively view the screen from a angle? its just retarded to compare that, it's not even a point.
Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk 2
I personally really like the screen. I hated the screen on the s3 and thought the colours looked unnatural and oversaturated. With the XZ, while it may be 'washed out' to some, I actually find the colours, contrast, etc. quite nice to look at and natural. The s3 and the like hurt my eyes. Plus viewing angles aren't half as bad as I expected them to be given all the hysteria regarding them prior to release.
I posted this in the other thread "clearing up the....."
"I have now spent 48 hours with my XZ in the UK. I really like the display. It is sharp, vibrant and realistic in terms of colour and saturation. I could not get on with the amoled display of the HTC desire and the samsung galaxy. Too unrealistic imho. The bravia engine takes it to another level for movies and pictures: It will impress your friends!
I was hesitating with the iminent release of the HTC one. I have absolutley no regrets. It is a beautiful phone and a beautiful display."
well if the only downside is "bad view angles" and "low sturation" its great display because
1. i look my fone from front not side
2. i dont like too saturated colours (red must be red not burning red example)
3. resolution n ppi is high enough to make clear and nice pic

So I know that our display is fading when it stands vs HTC, LG, Samsung screen but if we make Bravia Engine always ON the situation changes, the screen could be equal or maybe a little bit better than others with more power consumption.
So its this possible..to have bravia engine in games, homescreen, anywhere in sistem? As I read on the internet I didnt found an exact answer for this question.

Theoretically it would be possible but the battery drain would be enormous ATM, unless Sony delivers some tweaks!
That's probably the reason why they haven't done.that in the first place!
Sony.would be better off with an oled display, tweaking it and sticking the BE2 ENGINE or x-reality into that, saving battery consumption. Then they would be unbeatable for a while!

google is your best friend , search for Screendim.apk and install it
enable it and set the bottom bar ( contrast ) for about 60% and the brightness on top for about 60-70% and now tell me how dark or colorful your screen looks
this defnitely works.. not perfect but close to BE alwasy ON types..

If you display some screen calibration patterns while using bravia engine, you see how bad it is for fidelity. It just oversaturates, tints, and destroys detail in brighter and darker areas of images/videos.
If a phone has a screen of 300/1 contrast ratio, there is no way some software can improve this, it only can put some make up but at the cost of some other things, just like LCD's are doing since the beginning with dynamic contrast and all that bullsh*t, where you see skin become shiny bright and where there used to be a dark grey shadow over a black background, then it becomes all black and no shadow.
BE is the first thing i disable in all my Sony products, and its equivalent in any non Sony product.
I think that our screen without bravia its complety UGLY! :-&
I never had any issues with the colours on my device. Infact I prefer them this way as opposed to colour popping and extra vibrant. Infact I turn down that setting on my LCD monitor. A friend of mine did a side by side comparison against his Samsung device and the 1st thing he notices was the colour was more toned down then said he actually preferred the Sony display. Point is some ppl like the toned down visuals and others like them vibrant but funny how as someone says they have no issue with the Sony display they are labeled a blind fanboy.
As for viewing angles, Also never had an issue with them due to the fact that I always take up my phone when I want to look at it (always, its a habit of mine) and never just glance at it while it is on a desk or anything like that.
Xperia Z Screen is OK, i have been using it everyday since launch date, viewing angles may be low, but that is something i forgot completely in everyday use. Screen brightness is more than enough, contrast is ok, and visual fidelity is great (as long as you have BE2 deactivated).
For people saying there were better screens two years ago, please point me to a device released two years ago with a 5" FullHD screen with better specifications.
We all know the XZ screen, today, is not one of the best FullHD screen on a smartphone, but it was the first released.

I don't think they need a doctor or anything, it is a matter of taste, there are people who like viewing screen with oversaturated colors and overdriven contrast just because it is more eye catchy, for god's sake they even ported the bravia engine to the galaxy nexus, and there are people who even enjoy it, if the nexus screen weren't oversaturated enough... let's oversaturate it even more and add a lot of detail loss due to contrast overdrive by BE.
Oh, also forgot to mention, "nits", why the hell would we need a screen with a gazillion of nits if at the end of the day we are all using the brightness bar to decrease it to save battery (or using the Auto mode), at the end we all are viewing the screen with about the same luminosity, it doesn't matter if our screen has 10 or 8.000.000 nits.
Hi guys, im buying a new mid-range phone and i'm deciding between the better two: Moto G and Xperia SP.
I really like the Moto G, but what i like the best is the screen, gorgeous, nice constrast and saturation. Black is pretty deep. Also i like its bloat-free, and running Kitkat is a breeze.
On the other hand there is the Xperia SP, while a little heavier than MotoG, is more or less the same phone. Features the newer 1.7 s4 pro (same as S4 Mini, another phone i considered but discarded for being too expensive for what it is), but what i think is the biggest advantage from the MotoG is the camera, 8MP and it is Sony. The screen, i think the MotoG's better.
Don't know why i feel the MotoG better than the Xperia SP, but the 5MP Camera is a deal-breaker. In your opinion which of this phones is the better one? For daily users of the Xperia SP, how good is the Screen? Contrast, Brightness, etc. Do you think the Sony's Camera to be so much better than MotoG? Recommendations? Thanks!

I didn't knew that, sorry
Hi. I've searched through some of the forum threads and can't find a direct comparison by actual owners so apologies in advance if this has been covered already....
I have a iphone 4s; the camera is good. I have tried to move to a android phone twice now, (HTC one and a Sony Z1 Compact) and was not impressed with the camera on either so I went back to my iphone 4s.
The HTC uses 4k ultra pixels so is good in low light but mediocre in normal daylight.
The Z1 compact camera just seemed flat, slow, blurred and I took several pics with my 4s and the 4s blew the sony out the water, which surprised me given it's age and much lower pixel count. (which I know isn't everything)
I want a compact phone, android with a excellent camera. Has anyone had experience using the Z3 AND the Z1 compacts?
Other than the camera on the Z3 compact which has mixed reviews, I'm very tempted by this phone as its small, has good battery life, decent specs but I'm weary after my bad experience with the Z1 compact.
Can anyone alley my fears or confirm the camera quality?
thanks

The higher pixel count is actually counterproductive since each individual cell collects less light and there's additional space between them even increasing the effect (same with high density displays). Unless you do some kind of binning. That's been a trend since at least ten years, my ancient 4MP camera still takes very good low-light shots.
I received my Z3C yesterday so I don't have a lot of experience with it but my first impression is that you will be also disapointed with the camera like you were with the Z1C. Why that? Because I am a disappointed myself. I had the Z1C for 9 months before selling it of the Z3C. I also had the iPhone 4S before and I have to admit that the iPhone is a way more reliable device when it comes to instant photography.
What a pity to embed such a great hardware and not being able to get the most of it.
Rexet...
Thanks for the response. I feared that maybe the case. What a shame. I can't find a decent, small android phone with a top camera.... im hoping the nexus x may be the answer but who knows then that will be released..
iphone 6 (compact) seems to be the logical upgrade but i want to go back to android without sacrificing the camera and refuse to pay what is in my opinion too much for the iphone.
To answer your original question, the z3c camera is MUCH better than the z1ç. This is in both low light, and normal lighting.
HOWEVER my wife ip5s still take better pictures ...
Comparing with Z1 Compact which I had for 6 months, yes it's better with a noticeable margin.
In my opinion, the Z3c (1 week so far) takes roughly the same quality photos as the Z1c (4 months). It's a little snappier and that may be to the slightly faster chipset. The physical button is more sensitive on the Z3c which seems to capture faster.
In both cases, I think the cameras are super competitive with other phones but only if you use manual mode and learn how to shoot with it. You can take some pretty amazing photos with it but Sony makes you work for it. The Superior Auto is crap in my opinion since it often picks the wrong white balance.
Ive both and the z3c is slightly better than the z1c specially at low light. the 12800 ISO actually works (ie z1c == black picture where you see stuff on the z3c)
in bright light its hard to spot any difference.
as for the washed out colors and slight blur look, this is all post processing settings. washed out looking colors generally are actually natural colors. if you change the white balance and sharpness filter they'll look better than the iphone4 pictures.
I compared with colleague's iphone 6. In bright light (ie sun light) they look very similar once the image has been processed for the z3c. Otherwise it does look less contrasted etc. and the iphone6 picture looks better by default. All pics were taken in manual mode, they tend to suck in superior auto...
You can use the Google photo enhance for auto processing if you dont want to do it yourself, it does an okayish job of changing contrast, white balance and sharpness settings.
In low light the z3c is much better than the iphone6.
Hope it gives you an idea. Check the picture thread for samples http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-...ost-pictures-xperia-z3-compact-t2889119/page5

You mean applying a filter after you take the picture, or a setting you can change before and/or during taking a picture?
theres some things you can do while you take the picture, some you can do after. you can actually do the exact same changes after as you can do before except for SCN modes which change the sensor settings.. all other settings appear to be post processing (happening as you take the picture thought).
Most programs will let you do that. I change them in Gimp most of the time, when im lazy and didnt do it in the camera i just use google auto enhance from their photo app.
To look more like the iphones and galaxy phones tho, the settings i generally have to boost are whitebalance (a lot), sharpness (a fair amount) and just a bit of contrast.
I believe you cannot adjust the sharpness within the sony camera app.
With a phone camera, the last thing I want to do...and I bet many others too...is root around with post processing (what the hell??!) and with tweaking in manual mode.
I want to take it out of my pocket and press capture...snap. Done. Like the iphone.
Why is it so hard to do this?
In same position, bought the z3 compact to replace my iPhone 5.
In short, the camera is the only disappointing feature of the phone, and it really is a big disappointment. Washed out colours, terrible shutter lag, slow focus, very soft focus. Have tried all the different camera options (superior auto, different manual options, scenes options) and found nothing adequate yet.
A real shame as I really want to move away from ios, the rest of the phone is superb, if the camera isn't important then it's a fantastic device!
Yep automatic modes arent very good.
Manual modes are okay / mostly on par with competition.. That exludes phones like the lumia 1020 of course. One would hope sony work on the software a bit more in this area
News said z3/z3c camera software will be re-written on Android L(not sure about z1/z1c/z2), so now on 4.4.4 it won't be any better than z1c. I've got a z1c and only played z3c in a local phone store, the phone got faster focus but I think that is pretty much all of this. The quality is just same with Z2, not any better til Android L out. Z3/z3c used a slightly improved cmos(IMX220 vs IMX200) and G lens but you only got better at low light, day time quality has no different at all.
HTC, Samsung, Iphone all got better focus, so they always got a sharper picture and Sony is soft. Speaking for the photo quality, indeed z1/2/3 is real good at low light(when you focus right) and even slightly better than HTC/Samsung/Iphone(this is my experiences and you can notice that from many reviews too) but day time just not that good though acceptable.

I'd like a source on this as well. It really is a shame that Sony's camera software isn't on par with the rest of this fantastic device despite the superior hardware. I understand manually adjusting the camera is a solution, but for the layperson who doesn't have the time nor the know-how to make those adjustments, a simpler solution is preferred and a revamp/improvement of their software would go a long way in achieving that.

In my limited experience with the z3c, the camera is very poor when it comes to fine details like trees and leaves etc. If camera performance is important for you, then definitely look elsewhere. Shame on such a good phone otherwise.

The trees and leaves needs an extremely low compression rate to maintain the fine details because of JPG problem(too old). However, the compression rate is often too high on all Sony phones. RAW image is very possible being a basic requirement on Android L according from Google speaking, so this problem might be solved in the future.

They did? I mean, you're not talking about the extended Android API but Sony's actual camera software?

Why not? Android L is a total new OS so Sony is forced to rewrite anythings(though I believe Sony is lazy and actually doesn't want to do it... lol)

Sony keen to Fix Image Algorithms in Xperia Z3
http://smartphonetechie.com/sony-keen-to-fix-image-algorithms-in-xperia-z3/
The SA mode works good to me, the only problem on SA for most people because it very actively detects the handshake and switch to sport mode and turn up shutter speed and ISO in the end, it will ruin the overall quality and may increase/decrease the brightness in a wrong way but it will also help for folks who got seriously handshake.

Ah, but from the sounds of it, the fix was supposed to come with the Z3 series, but clearly that never happened. Fingers crossed with Android L then, but I wouldn't get my hopes up.
is the camera really that bad, all the reviews say its pretty good, not quite the gold standard iphone 6 level but close enough? The pics posted on this forum from the z3 compact look good too IMO.
