Hello all,
I recently unlocked my bootloader and installed 4.4.2, took the OTA to 4.4.4 and installed TWRP and rooted my AT&T Moto X. My question is, since there doesn't appear to be an AT&T 4.4.4 sbf, how can we install the stock recovery so we can upgrade to Android L when it becomes available?
Thanks
Adam
You'll probably need to wait for the SBF to be released. Or wait for the L SBF and just flash it manually. ?

Also, it's going to probably be awhile yet until you see the L OTA... So no rush.

I see an ATT xt1058 download in there. That count?
Yes sir! Thank you. Can we trust the files from this Site?

As anything, flash at your own risk.
I find it funny tho that the rogers 4.4.4 file came out before the OTA. Seems strange to me. :good:

I start this thread here in order to solve all problems and questions that I and many htc one users have for the update of android that came out yesterday.
I unlocked the bootloader, flashed a custom recovery, rooted the device and then reflashed stock recovery.Along with SU I installed BusyBox as well.My question is:As I have not received the update yet (CID:HTC__304 firmware:2.24.401.8)I would like to know,as some friends from xda told me that if I want to receive OTA the only thing I have to do is reflash stock recovery,if that's all or if I should relock phone and reflash firmware(in order to be unrooted)to receive the OTA?Or should I w8 more days (this could be an option !).
Here is the order of the actions I did.
1.unlock bootloader
2.flashed custom recovery
3.root(su+busybox)
4.reflash stock recovery.img
5.OTA update?
You need stock rom without root and stock recovery for apply the ota
And when your phone will notice the OTA, you must have both...
Thanks for fast repply.Even rooted will I notice the update?I mean will the OTA pop up ?
Yup you will notice the popup, but you can't apply it if you don't have stock rom and stock recovery
Thank you m8.I will w8 more days then as nothing pop up when I check for uptades. If any user with Cid htc__304 with 2.24.401.8 android 4.2.2 has received OTA for 4.3 and sense 5.5 please feel free to inform me /us.

I'm CF rooted w/ X-posed on ANJ7 and I want to move to the new K firmware.
Also, I have a 128mb T-Mo update that I have postponed. Not sure what it is.
What is the best way to accept the update? Is that the K firmware?
How to move to ANK firmware without issues?
I see the Root thread has been updated but I'm not seeing (or understanding) how to go from J to K firmware on an already rooted phone.
The fingerprint scanner issue worries me too. Could use some advice.
How do I take the update without screwing up the phone?
TIA
Just flash ank. I'll show you

Thanks, that's the thread I was referring to. Just some stuff I don't understand.
I think they're gonna force feed this update anyway.
Can I unroot and accept the update as an OTA? Or is Odin flashing required?
Is the 128mb update the new K firmware?
What happens if I accept it as is?

You must be rooted in order to use the flash fire. If your not already rooted you will need to download towelroot.com. download and install it. If it says your version is not supported then you'll need to downgrade to nce and then root. Then you'll be able to use flash fire to flash the stock rooted rom that i posted earlier.

The info you'll need is in the OP of that thread. Hollar if you need help and I'll help as much as i can

So you have the blankflash files for the Moto X 2014?
Make an account on mega.co.nz (it is free). Then upload.

The stock 5.1 files for the XT1097 have not yet been made available.
how did you brick?
I need files, too. xt1097 hardbricked.
Do you guys think it is just a matter of time until motorola realease these files or they could never release it?
I cannot believe I bricked mine after 2 weeks -.-

They could never release them. Please keep calling and emailing them - explain to them that it was THEIR OTA that bricked your device because it didn't have the proper checks in it.
I doubt they will release them. They are used at their service centers tp repair phones which brings in money for repairs. We can only hope that they will be leaked someday. Technically they don't release firmware for non pure edition devices either. Those are leaks, not releases.

If you use Motorola Device Manager to upgrade your OS, it leaves a copy of the fxz on your computer.
Yes, but those files are used to upgrade the phone through mdm. They did not release them to us as a firmware file for us to flash as we want to when we want to.

The firmware stays on your computer until you delete it so think of it however you want to, but they provide us with a piece of software that if you use it gives us the firmware for our device. And we can use that firmware at any time as we see fit.
The firmware is left in this folder:
c:\programdata\motorola\SUE\firmwares
You can flash it as much as you want.

And that's the problem people are trying to treat their device like a pure edition then complaining when something goes wrong.
There's a reason that the files disappear after the update it's to stop people from screwing things up.
Please upload the files if you have it.

Those are not the blankflash files for the MX14. Someone posted a link to those without knowing what they were talking about.
There are no blankflash files for the MX14. The MX14 blankflash files are the 8974 not the 8960.

The bricks started once people decided to downgrade from the 5.1 soak. Instead of downgrading to 5.0, they erroneously downgraded to 4.4.4 then took the 5.0 OTA causing the bricks.
This is entirely motorola's fault for not writing the 5.0 OTA updater script properly. There should be checks in it that prevent the bricks by preventing the 5.0 OTA updater script from trying to patch the 5.1 bootloader.
Complain to Motorola - their faulty prorgramming caused the bricks. At a minimum, they should provide warranty replacements if they won't provide the blankflash files.
So, the files could be find in the firmware, or any other way, or the only way to get them is motorola's release?
