Hi,
I have a stock I9305 (I'm in Australia) with android 4.3 apparently Hong Kong firmware. Reception with the current firmware is terrible so I was wondering if i flashed a different modem it might help.
My question is whether flashing a new modem via Odin on a totally stock I9305 would trigger Knox?
cheers
no it will not trigger your knox counter....as long as is official stock - http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/
Thanks that's what i wanted to know.
cheers

I have a Canadian variant with a different model number but I want to install firmware from tmobile which basically has the same specs, but when I do Odin flash I get fail messages. The only firmware that works is for my specific model N910W8.
How can I flash other country firmware? Anyone know how? I did it with my S5 so I'm confused. Thanks

It's not a question of another country's firmware but instead it's just a fact that
you should not and cannot odin flash a different model's firmware into your
phone no matter how similar the two models might be.
I cannot odin flash firmware from sammobile designed
for N910W8 into my N910T model either.
You are lucky that your odin flashing of N910T firmware simply failed,
it could have been a disaster since it could have easily bricked your phone.
Remember there is a BIG difference between firmware and roms...
They are NOT the same thing...
You will be able to flash some zip file roms which are designed for the N910T
successfully using twrp recovery but before you do I would strongly suggest to
do a lot of research before flashing anything so you don't wind up with a shiny
brick.
Good luck!

I have had my Tab S2 operator unlocked, and would like to change the firmware to the official BTU version for my device. Before I proceed with this, can anyone advise me of the correct process for flashing the official firmware without tripping Knox? Will using ODIN trip Knox by default?
I already downloaded the firmware files for the BTU version, so any help anyone can give would be greatly appreciated.
Stock firmware doesn't trip knox.

Great. Thanks for letting me know.
I've got a Telstra-branded S8+ (code TEL according to Sammobile) and I want to flash regular unbranded firmware onto it but I'm a little confused by all this talk of CSCs and so on. Is it safe to download the Australia (XSA) firmware and simply flash the HOME_CSC file over the top of what's already there, or is there more to it than that? Do I need to worry about this tripping Knox/breaking Safetynet/disabling OTAs/etc?
I have had no issues with flashing XSA on my Singapore model Note 8. As long as it is the official firmware this will not trip Knox.
Though your original CSC will appear in the Software Information as the third CSC. Mine currently shows XSA/XSA/XSP (XSP is Singapore)
Hi, I want to flash a ROM from a different region on my Note 9. Will Knox be tripped if I use Odin to flash a stock ROM from sammobile?
I know Samsung's have either the Exynos or the Snapdragon chipset and it's not possible to flash a Snapdragon firmware on a Exynos phone.
However, I have an Exynos Note 9 (SM-N960F) and I'm planning to flash another stock Exynos ROM from a different region (also model SM-N960F).
My question is, will Knox be tripped if I use Odin to flash a different region, stock ROM from sammobile?
Knox won't trip if only flash original different firmware
Has anyone tried it?
