Just bought the z3c, there are no covers for the headphones output in the box,or any other covers.
There should be a cover for anything or it's supposed to be waterproof just like this out of the box?

It is waterproof as long as the lateral flaps are closed. The headphones jack is sealed therefore it doesn't need a cover
You are talking about the sd and sim cards?
That's cool. Thank you.

Yes
But be aware it's only _water_ proof. Saw a guy dunk it in beer, didn't go so well.

Hello guys,
Unfortunately i put my Xperia Z1 on my pocket the other day and when i got it out i saw a 1 milimetre chip on the aluminum casing, probably from my keys.
Is there a way to fix this? Maybe brush it with sand paper ?
It is only 1mm wide but i hate watching it

No mate, don't try that.
Even the finest sand paper will ruin your phone.
You will have to learn to live with it...

Thanks for the reply mate.
Anyone know of a waterproof case for the N6? Something similar to a lifeproof case, perhaps? I know its water resistant, but looking for waterproof.
I believe the Nexus 6 is IP67 rated - 1 meter submersion in water for 30 minutes with no damaging ingress of water.

It's not it's only splash resistant like the moto x due to the nano coating
So this isn't scientific or from the manufacturer, but some guys did an IP67 test and the Moto X passed. The moto website only says "water resistant" which is horribly ambiguous. The Nexus 6 has the same water resistant tech.
[can't post link]
I'm an electronics engineer, and a few of our products are "IP67" rated. A lot of times the manufacturer will not state or guarantee the IP67 rating because some devices will inevitably get water damage and then customers get pissed because they think waterproof means water invincible.
I would bet the Nexus 6 will pass the IP67 test every time - provided the device is new and the seals aren't damaged and you haven't dropped it too much.

Interesting. I watched a Motox review that showed the opposite--phone stopped working after a couple minutes in a kitchen sink.
My theory could very well be wrong. Search "submersion test" at androidpit.com.
Everyone should tweet lifeproof to let them know there is a demand. The nuud would be awesome for this device.
One of the YouTube videos I watched on the nexus 6 had it submerged in a bath tub and it worked fine.

nexus 6 lifeproof case
What about sending an email to lifeproof for a nexus 6 case from the nüüd series? Would that help?
The nexus is not nearly popular enough for lifeproof to make a case. They only do iphones, galaxy s series, and the droid turbo. They only did the turbo as part of a deal with Verizon because Verizon is most likely their largest customer.
What are you planning?
Looks good enough for me.

I have a couple of these. I hate em lol.
I use my phone in the rain snow and water fell on it here and there no issues. What are you gonna go take photos of Atlantis? Lol
I'm looking for a case myself. This spring I will be riding ATV's in the dirt/mud/water etc, and want to fully protect my phone. Sure, I could drop a sim in my S4 and grab a lifeproof for that but would prefer to bring my normal phone with me.
My ultimate goal is to handle-bar mount it, paired with a go-pro.

Yeah I was thinking similarly for my Mountain Bike.
I just want to use mine in the shower in the morning, but scared the steam and water will still get in despite the nano coating

Even IP67 certified stuff could get water damage if you accidentally put the device right in the stream of water

Don't do this. The heated water/steam will damage it without a good case designed for water proof.
I read that Mate S is water resistant, but I wonder which model - chinese only (with ForceTouch) or any available?

I has a water resistant coating, but you cannot take it under water.
And how this water resistant coating works actually? Can it protect audio jack, micro-USB, speaker or microphones against raindrops?

dropped mine into my toilet....seems ok so far.
hi, everyone,
i recently repaired my z3 compact (my self). bought what needed and after i finished all the repair process, i ordered a back cover adhesive. i wasn't thinking it'd make it waterproof again because when i asked the seller they said they aren't certain if that adhesive is OEM Sony or Generic. so when I placed it firmly and pressed well so the back cover would remain well sealed without no gaps.....
THEN...... i went to service test to perform a pressure test and the results weren't as expected!!!!
when i press on the phone in the middle, and in every part, the value increases noticeably which made me think the phone has regain it's water proofing!!!
please check the youtube video link below to see how the value change when pressed, and when not.
do you guys think is safe to submerge again in the water without any water leakage or risk of damage?
THANKS FOR ANY RESPOND GUYS.

Its best not to dip in the water if you do now know if the sealing is an Official Sony Sealant or a generic one. Take it with a grain of salt, I wouldn't trust generic adhesives

even with the pressure increment it would be risky ?

It might be sealed enough to cause that, and is probably capable of not letting water flood in instantly. But a generic adhesive will have no reason to be designed to last long while wet or survive after getting wet - it could degrade rapidly and let water in, or just degreade in general and start to come apart after a short time as a result.
You probably have something that will save your phone in an accident if you are fast but you cant trust it for certain, dont know how long it will last if it does work, and could leave you with no seal at all after a while.
I have been trying to get a good seal with several 'oem' adhesive stickers, but all get loose after a couple of days. Reheating and some pressure fixes it for a little while, also the pressure test, but I do not think I will use under water anymore.

Good for you. Which one did you get?
Only thing lacking on the sxz3c is the camera and thus build quality for me.

now im having a brand new Xperia Z5 E6653 (white), it's quiet awesome phone!
Hi, I've bought an Xperia XZ2 a month ago, and I've sent it back, because it looked like it's sealing is damaged at the bottom speaker. Its looks like that on the right side of the speaker there is no sealing. After this I bought a black XZ2 too, from an original retailer but it has the same "issue". I need you help. Could you check your phone in good light conditions and tell me if there's a "hole" on your phone too? I'd appreciate that. Also, have you put you phone in water? Did it survive it without any damage? Here's some photos.
