Hello, I wanted to ask you something about cooked roms
I tried paranoid android, cm ulb and lb, cm11s, AOKP, smooth liquid but all these after a few days and with the installation of common applications home button and begin to put recent slow releasers increasingly use the browser, facebook or any other applications when using the button to exit the pitcher is left standing for several seconds, is there any solution for this?
pd: sorry for my bad English :c

Freeze or disable any other home screens that you don't use.
Well this happened to me several times, I'm currently using CM11.
I had several games i didn't play, so i uninstalled them. one of them being asphalt which uses a lot of storage.
after that i ended up with 2.4gb used and 2.9gb empty. This fixed this problem for me, give it a try...

If you are currently on unlocked bootloader I suggest using Williams Kernel v4 with any CM or CM-based ROMs.

Well, in using omni ROM and it does not have this lag. I think omni is the only ROM that does not have this lag. It is really fast.

Yes.. Indeed..
Totally agree with u.
FYI, just another eminence from omni is..
look at the RAM. no one rom like thiss..
An apps can stay long lasting in recent panel without restarting as ram getting crowded while multitasking..
Not like in stock. Even there are just 2 apps still appear in recent panel, but when we open it again, it launched from start again.

One of the many ROMs i've tried had this feature in it. When you have an app open you can press the back button to force close it. Unfortunately i dont remember which ROM this was, but hopefully some here can help me out with this. Is there any way i can have this feature in any ROM i install or is this something specific to some ROMs?
Thanks a lot for any help provided!!
I believed it's a GB 2.3 feature
Settings>Applications>Development>Stop app via long press.
Hey thanks a million baseball!!!! Thanks for the quick reply, i feel dumb for not checking the settings first! :/
Running stock 2.3.3 and can confirm it's not there. It used to be in CM6.1.1, that's all I know for sure.
Im running an AOSP 2.3.2 with CM and its there. I'm super happy with this build!! no phone wonkiness, battery life is awsome, and it moves very smoothly!
It's a CM feature...
Also in MIUI.
I confirm, it's a MIUI feature
Can be found in most of the recent roms now. Especially the gingerbread ones.

Well, I'm pretty sure it was introduced in CM and then copied to MIUI but then again they share code from time to time so it doesn't matter.

Probably because almost all roms on XDA now just copy CM pretty much straight up.
Hey guys
I am running JB 4.1.2 on my Galaxy S Advance. First I was really pleased about the new functions, the additional speed and the new the design.
( I was running 2.3.6)
But now my mobile hangs a lot, if I'm watching videos, playing music or if I just go on facebook.
I've used the instructions of this video and I've done exactly the same as showed. /watch?v=2W2NVfGJ0Cc
Do you have any ideas, how I can speed up my phone?
Maybe with an other kernel, an other ROM or something like that.
Greetings from Switzerland!

i am using stock rom XXLQ4 with cocore 3.3 kernel and no frills config: governor-pegasusq and i/o-sio
still if u feel the phone lags which i dont think it will, u can enable forced gpu rendering in developer options, although u may experience screen flickering.
try Thunderzap 4.1 kernel and wipe cache/dalvik. See if there's any difference. It worked for me.
my phone also hangs quite a lot, a few times a day when i want to unlock my phone it just shows the last used app (be it the launcher or any other app) and doesn't respond except for the power button. when i press the power button the screen locks, but when pressing again it's still frozen.
(i know, it's a bit of an old thread, but maybe someone will reply)

does cm 10.1 have a better battery life than cm 10.2? cause in cm 10.2 it was quite terrible, only about half a day with wifi off (i never use data connection, always turn that of ) and in standby most of the time.
edit- the battery is fine, it's almost new, and in stock rom i can get about 1 and-a-half day with wifi almost constantly on

i think i'm gonna try that one for a day or so, see if the battery life is indeed better than cm 10.2.
only downside other than that is the high vibration strength, is there anyway to lower that? (only for buttons and certain onscreen things)
and is there much difference in battery life between 10.2 and 10.1?
edit- just installed it, but wifi always takes about 2 minutes to turn on, so i'm back to stock based

If you haven't done yet, root your phone. Then flash a custom recovery. CWM or TWRP. Then flash a custom kernel or a custom rom.
I think the Jelly Bean stock-rom isn't recommended for this phone. It didn't use to lag, when I used Gingerbread 2.3. After flashing Jelly Bean it hanged a lot!
Now, i rooted it, installed CWM and the custom rom Pure Vanilla. It doesnt lag anymore!
Greetings and nice luck

I made this thread so users who tested basebands to provide some useful reviews (battery backup, performance, bloatware, etc) for every user who want to know which baseband, new or old, has what he`s looking for or the baseband just came up and it`s new and he wants to know about it.
I tested MBM-XXLQI from Macedonia recently and all I have to say it brings nothing new about battery backup on the contrary it seems worse than DDULP8 from India or XXLQG-ITV from Italy, and in addition it has a lot more bloatware too.
I am going to test the new VSLPA from Argentina(moviestar) to see what it brings new as it has the latest build date and changelist, and I`ll provide a review in a day or two. You are free to do the same as we may have different opinions.
I am using VSLPA from Argentina from 1 day now and I have to say it provides the best battery backup till now, only 1% consumed over the night.
About performance, it`s pretty much like the other firmwares, tough i notice that lag is slightly reduced in this one or it may be placebo effect, don`t know yet.
Go try it yourself and report back to see if you have a different opinion from mine
I take my words back VSLPA is the best build by samsung for our device since they released Jb for us. I rooted, flashed cocore8.2, removed some bloats, instaled no-frills, set pegasusq+sio, powersave and I drained the battery till it shut down. After I let it charge full I powered it up and I couldnt believe my eyes how fast it was and still is, this build is LAG FREE, the dial pad opens in instant just like cyanogenmod. At first I tought that maybe it's just an one time event but not it still does that and is insanely fast, stable, smooth maybe then most of custom too (no offense to any dev). I know it is hard to believe but please try it for yourself and you'll be surprised.
I'll provide the list of bloats removed when I have time if it is of any use

This is as if you were explaining you saw a ghost.
Are you sure about this? Cause I heard similar things for previous FWs before, even though they all lagged like hell.
And 7 hours ago you were saying the opposite, how's that possible? What exactly fixed it, when it was the same when you first tried it?
Anyways I'm on GB now, got burned once and now I want to be sure if it's really lag free before I upgrade.
in sammobile, some of the firmwares are made for some particular carriers. Is it safe to flash that carrier basrd firmwires??

If your device is network free(meaning that another carrier sym is working) you can flash any firmware you want for our device with odin. Juat download it from samsung-updates, unrar it, put the tar file in pda section of odin and hi start.

First of all GB and JB are different in every aspect so you can`t compare one to the other. First time it was just after I flashed it then I did all the things I said ( root, flash cocore kernel, changed governors and I/O etc. ) and after that i used it till it shut down and then while it was turned off I let it full charge, after that i booted into recovery wiped cache and dalvik cache and reboot and that was all.
But you should never expect that JB to be like GB.
If you don`t like stock i suggest you to upgrade from gb to jb then flash CM 10.1 from Team Canjica or if you want stock based Roms try Harshjelly or SamiOS.
Before you do all the things read some guide about how to flash with odin, how to root jb shaan`s guide and some more if needed.
If you do some research before you should not have problems

Why would you want to downgrade? First read guide about Odin and then go and read Harshjelly thread first then flash his rom and from there on should be easier to learn about governors,I/O schedulers, kernel etc. After you think you have a good knowledge base and you`re still not happy with you`re android you can move on to CyanogenMod 10.1 of Team Canjica(19.10 nightly is the most stable version).

Thanks, but been there, done that. All I'm saying is that I doubt it's lag free, I did try various firmwares, kernels and stuff but 5 sec delay when opening apps and lag in games, videos, UI is so bad that it's unbearable. That's why I had to downgrade, which is a much complicated process which frankly I don't want to repeat. That's why I want to make sure the new firmware is lag and delay free before I upgrade again.
And I'm pretty sure JB isn't supposed to be that bad, despite the fact that S Advance isn't much of a phone.

In cyanogenmod you wont encounter any kind of lag. So you can flash VSLPA via odin then flash cwm temporary make a backup then root it play with it a day or two and see how it goes and if you dont like it restore from backup then flash cyanogendmod 10.1 and i guarantee that you wont encounter any kind of lag there.
And btw id you want to thank me for any help just hit Thanks button and I`ll know

Camera: Never had a problem. Its working perfectly and all custom cameras are working too.
Ingress: Sorry I never played it so I do not know.
Internal storage: I don't really have an issue as such or maybe I haven't encountered it in my daily usage. I've been using Omni as my daily rom for over 4 months now.
The only thing some people complain about is the volume issues. I don't face that issue but even if you did there is a simple fix.

I just installed the latest one and works perfectly this time! thanks
I had enough with bugs of 4.4.2
But I never used the 4.3 before, I just bought it new
Should I downgrade? Does 4.3 have bugs?
Try it and see.
I find 4.4.2 rock stable. You say it has bugs.
So no one can tell you, that's the beauty of android. try it yourself and see what you are happy with

Well i am using the latest (14.3.A.0.757) one and I have bugs like;
*Sound delay in few games
*Wifi connectivity is low
*Wifi drops sometimes for no reason
It is not that stable or the problem just with my phone

Personally I've been using android 4.3 on my Xperia Z and it was much smoother for me than kitkat now on Xperia Z1.
So downgrading is a good option, I would do it too, but the viper4android isn't fully supported on 4.3 ROMs.
Maybe using some Custom Roms will solve all your problems?
As I wrote in some threads Evo4 for Z1 is stable as a rock I never had problems with it.
Camera crashes

Does anyone experienced lag and phone crash and random reboots, or when ever I take too many pictures with it?
I tried custom roms like RomAur 8.0, currently I am on rooted stock. But it still does crash and reboot itself.
I bought phone when it was on 4.3 and I never had any crashes then, so now I am also thinking to downgrade it. Any recommendations?

Yep, I have that. Although it's not been crashing when using camera on 761 yet.
But it has crashed once when using mxplayer and once when browsing the movies.
The "camera not available" pops up aswell from time to time.
I tried 4.3 and it never rebooted. Still touchscreen issues though.
