Yes. I'm gonna uninstall & reinstall. BBL

I just fixed this myself. Go into vibration duration and increase it slightly. It will work then. Mines at 28ms.

Not on mine...
I have uninstalled and reinstalled Swift Key. I have tinkered with the vibe time in both
SwiftKey and phone settings.
Both of my other keyboards have funcioning haptic feedback on keypress, but not SwiftKey.

More info...
I've found that it works ONLY if you adjust the time to 0. Noo chit... Zero milliseconds.
If you move it up at all, haptic feedback disappears.

Not on mine... It has to be set above 0.

Doesn't work on mine either

Works for me. Currently set at 10 ms.

Samsung keypad vibration && browser brightness

After installing the froyo rom, there are two things that still annoy me, and I don't know if I can change them:
1) I like the look of the Samsung keypad, but there doesn't appear to be a way to disable to "haptic feedback" vibration when keys are pressed. The haptic feedback in the settings will disable feedback for the soft keys as well (which I don't want to do). Is there a workaround?
2) It really bothers me that the browser has its own brightness setting, so that it gets out of sync with the system brightness setting. Is there any way to disable the browser-specific brightness setting?
Thanks!

we should really keep these issues in a consolidated thread.. otherwise this could get out of hand.. I know there are a few posts that already discusss some of these issues..
I was disappointed at the Samsung Keyboard in the froyo build too. more importantly I could not find a way to turn off the key click sound. With the lack of the stock android keyboard I installed AnySoftKeyboard from the market. Seems to fit the bill for me.
My browser has the brightness setting, but so did the eclair build. For me it still follows the global brightness setting, dimming according to ambient light. I haven't touched that setting in the browser, it has been this way by default.

Can you not get what you want by choosing:
-Settings
-Language and Keyboard Settings
-Samsung Keyboard
then, click on/off Vibrate on Keypress, click on/off Sound on Keypress ??
nope, there is no option to disable the clicking noise. It's pretty odd that settings is left out.
I'm not sure this would help, but for the leaked 2.3.3 Gingerbread if you go to:
Settings>Sound>Uncheck Audible Tones
It removes the noise from the stock Samsung Keyboard.

The problem with that is that it disabled the audible tones when you are typing in a phone number.

Yeah, yur right, there's a setting for the Android Keyboard to disable sound and vibrate, but not on the Samsung Keyboard. Maybe try a rom that has that feature, a lot of them are adding mods to different KB's
Just figured it out. If you go into sound settings and turn down system volume it turns down or off the keyboard sound. Also the vibration intensity affects the keyboard
Can't someone just mod the
App

[Q] No Haptic Feedback options?

TL;DR : Phone has no haptic feedback or any options for haptic feedback anywhere. I remember it used to have them, don't know what to do about it
I've had my S3 mini for little under a month, and I remember having haptic feedback while typing, unlocking and while pressing stuff, as well as a set of haptic feedback options.
It sort of slipped my mind being used to haptic feedback for a long time, but lately typing hasn't felt right at all on my phone, and it took a friend to notice that my phone has no haptic feedback in most cases. There is no option for it anywhere, either (no option in the default samsung keyboard, no option under Sound settings or Power Saving either). The phone vibrates just fine during calls and has all the vibration options, and there's haptic feedback for a long-press of the middle button that summons the recent app list, but that's pretty much it.
I also disabled power saving mode.
Early on, when I got the phone, I installed both Ultra Keyboard (used it on my old droid and loved it), which for some reason does NOT work at all (app has an unexpected error when I open up the settings, and if I enable it as default keyboard it simply doesn't appear on my phone when it should, as if I don't have a keyboard at all) and SwiftKey 3, which I didn't really like, so I just reverted to the default samsung deal. I have no idea if this is relevant.
Google searches have been very unhelpful.
Am I nuts and does the phone actually have no haptic feedback options? Or is something wrong?
Thanks in advance!
With your keyboard app installed use this program called SELECT INPUT METHOD PRO from Google Play. You can then select your keyboard input. There's a free version to try out first, if you like.

How will that help me? I've lost all haptic functionality on my phone, not just from the keyboard. That and I'm not using any other keyboard than the default one.
As far as I can tell this only provides a shortcut to the input selection option.
I don't see how this is even remotely relevant
Haptic must be there, if u install a battery saver app there's always the option to turn it on/off.

I've installed no battery saver app. I simply do not have options for haptic feedback anywhere anymore.
Just looked on Elixir app and it says Haptic Feedback enabled. Try battery booster put widget on screen and enable haptic in green.

i too used to have the s3 and since i moved on to the s3 mini, i have been missing haptic feedback specially on the menu and back soft keys.
i wish there was an option or an app to restore that function again.
I couldnt find it full stop, not sure if it was there to start with in the stock keyboard, I ended up grabbing "Keyboard from Android 2.3" off of play and using that as that does have Haptic feedback enabled, still not found an option for it for Hard Keys though....
install Elixir 2, open it, select the first icon 'information', scroll down, simply press on 'Audio' and the third option will be 'turn haptic feedback off'
It will disable vibration as you (and I) wanted...although when modifying the home screen/adding or removing widgets it will keep the vibration...
hope this helps
Yep can confirm it works.
Sent from my GT-I8190 using xda premium
So, is there any way to enable haptic feedback?
I already tried Elixir 2 but it does not work.
Using 4.1.1 by the way.
notice that to....after i root it the haptic feedback setting gone...if flash original stock firmware everything seems normal...not a big deal for me actually...
How did u enable haptic feedback in Elixir?. What did u do exactly.

[Q] Disable Haptic Feedback on Nexus 6

How do I disable haptic feedback? I have the keyboard sounds turned off, but still get haptic feedback and a low sound on the home button, etc.
Is there anything under sound for disabling vibrate on touch or haptic feedback?

Glad you found it. I haven't got mine yet (on the FedEx truck for delivery eek!) so I was basically going based on what I found in CM12 on my OPO. Lol. :cyclops:
Is there a way to completely disable all Vibration on the Nexus 6.... I came from a Note 3 and had Vibration Intensity set to ZERO.
I don't like it when certain games take control of the Vibrate control's.
Is there a work around for this?
I turned off "other sounds" , but I still get haptic feedback on keyboard? How do I turn that off?
I turned off Haptic feedback in the keyboard settings, sound/other settings but I still get it.
For example if I want to add a shortcut to my home screen from the application tray.
1) Open the application tray
2) Select the shortcut
3) drag it to the home screen
4) GET THAT STUPID VIBRATION
Really annoying but it is not something that I do too often.
Picture some nerdy software geek, much like you find here ..... you know what be really, really cool every time you interact with the screen it vibrates !!!!
If you wanna disable the haptic feedback of the keyboard you have to go under:
Settings > Language and Input > Google Keyboard > Preferences
and disable "Keys Vibration"

No haptic feedback on Zuk Z2

Hi,
I installed 2.0.111 ST and updated to 2.0.133 ST(Official Indian ROM). There is still not haptic feedback while typing. I have Google Keyboard installed. Anyone else facing the same issue and found a solution? Thank you.

Setting > Sounds & Vibrate > Enable Vibrate.
ReCheck vibrate on keypress option in " Keyboard settings " also.
This solved my similar issue with keypress vibration.
Check if this helps you or not ?

If the vibration is working in call and other notifications like messages and alarms, then you better try factory resetting the device. It can help.
Don't forget to take a backup before.

If vibration is totally not working anywhere, then it can either be a hardware problem or major firmware issue.
The only posible way to distinguish between two , is to re-flash the firmware or do a Factory Reset.
It it didn't resolve the issue, then its a hardware problem.

Same problem on my phone too! Vibration works in Alarm and while using on screen navigation buttons. But it doesn't work on the keyboard for some reason. It does not seem to be a hardware issue if all but the keyboard is working!

Yeah , its not a hardware problem.
So you tried other keyboard too !! And the problem still persist ?
I was also worried first , when mine keypad feedback was not working , but for me it was just a Setting issue. It was Disabled in Keyboard settings and so was the default phone vibration.
Enabling both together made my day .?

Same here. All vibrations in the system are working, but not in the keyboard.
Hi,
for me the Setting was in "Settings" - "Sounds & Vibrate" - "Other Sounds" "Vibrate On Touch" - I dont know why it was disabled after a reboot of the device.
