[Q] Disable Haptic Feedback on Nexus 6 - Nexus 6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

How do I disable haptic feedback? I have the keyboard sounds turned off, but still get haptic feedback and a low sound on the home button, etc.

Is there anything under sound for disabling vibrate on touch or haptic feedback?

Sounds & Notifications>other sounds>vibrate on touch

Glad you found it. I haven't got mine yet (on the FedEx truck for delivery eek!) so I was basically going based on what I found in CM12 on my OPO. Lol. :cyclops:

Is there a way to completely disable all Vibration on the Nexus 6.... I came from a Note 3 and had Vibration Intensity set to ZERO.
I don't like it when certain games take control of the Vibrate control's.
Is there a work around for this?

I turned off "other sounds" , but I still get haptic feedback on keyboard? How do I turn that off?

I turned off Haptic feedback in the keyboard settings, sound/other settings but I still get it.
For example if I want to add a shortcut to my home screen from the application tray.
1) Open the application tray
2) Select the shortcut
3) drag it to the home screen
4) GET THAT STUPID VIBRATION
Really annoying but it is not something that I do too often.
Picture some nerdy software geek, much like you find here ..... you know what be really, really cool every time you interact with the screen it vibrates !!!!

If you wanna disable the haptic feedback of the keyboard you have to go under:
Settings > Language and Input > Google Keyboard > Preferences
and disable "Keys Vibration"

Yes, there is a way to disable Haptic Feedback on this handset.
Go to Settings > Sound > and Uncheck 'Vibrate Feedback'.
Hope this helps.

ICS CM9 Haptic feedback

Hi Guys
So I tried the CM9 rom, and one thing that really annoys me is the haptic feedback when pressing the soft keys and when typing. Is there a way to reduce it(NOT turn it off) like in CM7 ?
For the soft keys,go to settings/sound and untick "vibrate on touch"
and for keyboard haptive feedback, go to settings/language and input, there you have settings for android keybord, click there and untick "vibrate on keypress". I tryed both,it works... Hope i helped
I Didnt want to turn it off .... just reduce as you can in CM7
I think that this option is still without adding
Try looking around in the "Dev Tools" app, it might be there, just like you can reduce the brightness on the touchbuttons!
To lower the vibrations for keyboard-touches you have to go to settings > language & input > Android keyboard settings > advanced settings > keypress vibration duration settings
I know that it says "duration", but a lower duration also lowers the intensity of the vibration.
Haven't found a possibility to lower vibration for the touchkeys... i guess there's an app for that.
I have been looking for the possibility to lower the vibration intensity for the touchkeys too, it's just too high for the moment and i'm even more annoyed using the phone with haptic feedback turned off :S
they have merged the feature in the latest nightlies, you'll find it under the advanced settings

I use a different rom on my Jiayu G4 phone, Android 4.2.1. Which file(s) can I manually edit in the filesystem to change ms duration number? I have root access.

4.2.2 lockscreen - vibrate on touch option gone?

I have a pattern lockscreen, and there used to be an option called vibrate on touch so the phone vibrates on each dot of the pattern.
after the update my XZ still vibrates fine, but my wife's XZ doesn't vibrate on the lockscreen when drawing the unlock pattern anymore and I can;t find the option to turn it back on.
anyone able to help?
thanks!
The option is under Settings -> Sound.

Hello
It is not this Option.
We mean only the Vibrate setting in the Lookscreen

Perhaps your wife has broken her vibrator in some way? The phone is waterproof... Jokes aside, I found the setting on mine (CyanogenMod 10.1, 4.2.2 as well) under Settings > Lock screen > Screen security > Additional options... but it is greyed out!? #noidea

I checked and no other option to set vibration except for the one I said above. I also tried setting a pattern unlock and there is vibration on each dot of the pattern. Perhaps you can just tick the option under Settings -> Sound and see if it works?
I have attached a screenshot I found which shows the setting.
It used to be under security settings prior to 4.2
the option is no longer visible after 4.2.2 update.
it seems my wife turned off that option before updating, and it kept the setting. but now it's not possible to turn back on as the setting is no longer there......

[Q] Lots of Questions about everything !

Hello I have lots of questions
1) is there a way to make active display or tap to wake up phone?
2) on my previous phone if I clicked on the volume key button the phone would turn on?- can I do it on here?
3) there are many more apps like contextual services and lots of other Motorola apps. Which are safe to disable?
4) is there a way to block OTA updates?
5) when you swipe down using two fingers you get the notification pull menus. But when I click the wifi button it opens the settings app and goes to wifi. Can't I edit it so it goes DIRECTLYY to. Toggle wifi?
6) pin on lock screen - on my old phones when I input my pin it unlockes. This is so stupid and takes more longer after inputtingmy pin. I then have to click enter? How do I automate that
1) You can use AcDisplay. You can't tap to wake the phone, a custom kernel would be required for that.
2) Not by default.
3) I leave Assist, Alert, Audio effects, Help and Migrate disabled. I don't know about the rest, but those are safe.
4) Just don't install them. I don't know if you can disable the alerts though.
5) Hold the wifi button . Works with other settings as well, try it out.
6) Well, you could try using an app that replaces your lockscreen which has this feature, such as the Home Screen Lock of Smart App Lock. By default you can't though.
Hope I helped.

I assume you are using Lollipop. The wifi-icon and the SSID are two seperate buttons. Tapping the icon switches wifi on/off. Tap on the SSID and it will take you to settings
I've found that long-pressing the wifi button will toggle it on and off.

Accidental touches

Hi,
I'm starting to get really frustrated with my S10! When I have it in my pocket it's registering touches even though I'm not even touching my pocket I have my phone in.
I just got back home from my local gym and while I was exercising it has sent a photo from my gallery to different people on Facebook, even people from other places in the world who is not on my friend list.
I have enabled the option in settings to avoid accidental touches and the increased sensibility option is disabled as well and so is the raise to wake option.
Any ideas on how to solve this?
Heya,
I think that's an issue with all Samsung devices running on Android 9. Its actually the Fingerprint icon and/or double tap to wake up feature.
Try doing the following :-
1> Go to Settings > Advanced Features > Motion and Gestures and then turn off "Double Tap to Wake".
2> Go to Settings > Biometrics and Security > Fingerprints then Turn off "Show icon when screen is off".
If that still doesn't works, go to the same settings page in Step 1, and turn off "Lift to Wake Up" too.
Let me know if it works out for you.
