Android Version Names
Apart from Android 1.0 and 1.1, all other Android versions have been named after sweet treats or desserts. These codenames are chosen alphabetically, and have thus far all been dessert items. Some codenames are associated with more than one version number, while others are limited to only a specific one. The reason for this inconsistency is not currently known. The naming typically appears to correspond to changes in the developer API levels, but this is not always true (example: 3.0 and 3.1 are both “Honeycomb” but they have different API levels). The names of different versions are :-
Cupcake:
Android 1.5
Donut:
Android 1.6
Eclair:
Android 2.0
Android 2.1
Froyo: (short for “frozen yogurt”)
Android 2.2
Gingerbread:
Android 2.3
Honeycomb:
Android 3.0
Android 3.1
Android 3.2
Ice Cream Sandwich:
Android 4.0
Jelly Bean:
Android 4.1
Android 4.2
Android 4.3
KitKat:
Android 4.4
Lolipop:
Android 5.0
Android 5.1
Marshmallow
Android 6.0
What will happen next?

I cant find myself a suitable rom for me. I want it to close to stock android rom as possible but higher version of it since samsung gave up on releasing more updates on note5.
I want to find android 9.0 but no root or extra features sole android 9.0 because I play a game called Fate grand order which is nightmare of all rooting and custom roms.
Also is it possible to install higher version of android without changing kernel on it?
the app can not open and say ( you will not be able to use my orange as your current android version is not verfiied by google ) any one help me
Your phone is running Kit Kat 4.4.4, Lollipop 5.1.1 or Marshmallow 6.0.1.
The problem is the android versions running on the note 4 are old, I use a note 4, a N910C, it runs 6.0.1, the phone is almost 6 years old, our phones are ancient, when it comes to technology.
As time goes on, and new android versions are released, they depreciate older versions.
Orange don't want their app running on whatever version you have on your phone, and have decided to compile it without the SDK for your version of Android.
Download a earlier version of the My Orange app and then it should work
