[Q] CM rom for Z3 compact? - Xperia Z3 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Anyone seen any news about bloatfree CyanogenMod for this device yet?

We will get it, that's for sure, the question is when... It's already been tested, but they're waiting for Sony to release the new kernel... I am waiting for it too hopefully we won't have to wait long. Tale a look at the cm11 thread on the z3 not-compact section, they've been asked there too

Thanks! Yeah i found that one, and it looks promising. Some small bugs they have to fix though, but overall excellent!
I've found the system from Sony a bit too much overloaded with bloat and small bugs - so i've gotta try the CM mod when it becomes available.
I really can't stand the way Sony decided to deal with volume and sound playback on the firmware. It's like the sound driver is in hibernation when you recieve a notification, and the feedback for lockscreen and other system sounds is horrible. Several seconds delay. Hopefully CM Team makes the right changes

Couldn't agree more!!! I thought it was some kind of bug, happy to see I'm not alone

No it's really annoying! And the toggles should be on top of the statusbar dropdown, as it is in CM Mod. My opinion

You know what, at this rate I don't even care about the camera stuff anymore. Much of it is software post processing anyways.

This should be in Q&A...

Please leave the development section free for actual development threads.

Xperia T KitKat: it will come?

Hey guys, I dis a little research in the web but found nothing concrete about the KitKat update for the Xperia T. I would like to know what has been decided for this good device.
No news yet...
...and official firmware support has ended on April (18 months from the release of the device).
From my point of view, we can only hope in a last version for JB 4.3

Seriously with that cycle, release with old version then delay, then finally a release ... a buggy release... Thanks
I don't know why you talk like that to Sony, the Xperia T has the same updates the Galaxy Nexus, that it's the market not only Sony.

Becuase I am a little frustrated. Maybe its because I expected more and you are correct I was a bit sarcastic for which I apologize.
Still I have Sony camera and I appreciate all they do and its good that they are strong now, they diversify the market.
Lets hope that they will keep with our highest expectations and provide at least one more build - stable 4.3 or 4.4.
I'd be surprised if there are any further updates to 4.3. I doubt 4.4 will make it to the T in official form.
As for buggy? I haven't had a single problem with mine since upgrading to 4.3
All this bull**** about I want 4.4 NOW nad Sony suck because they're not supporting the phone for ever, just shows some people to be acting like spoilt children.

Bugs? I tell you one: I can't use my Bluetooth and Wifi at the same moment, I have to switch between, that is very inconvenient... Childish? I need my phone for everyday life

What I think he meant is that it's not a bug if it only happens to you. That fact that your phone isn't working for you isn't necessarily the case for everyone. The only problem I've had with my phone is all the bloatware it comes with, and the white settings; both of which can be fixed easily.

According to your logic and, for example, if you just using the phone for calling and messaging, the firmware for you is good . But I believe the phone should be fully functioning because everybody has different needs

And that was exactly my point. If the phone is fully functional for others and not for you, doesn't make it a bug, it just means that whatever you are using under your specific circumstances is not working for you. It's not about people's needs, it's about the phone working as the developers expected it to.
For instance, I've heard people complain about the microphone picking up the sound of the camera focusing while recording. If that is how the developers intended it to work, then it's not a bug, regardless of whether it interferes with the black and white silent movies they are trying to produce.

With that logic we can come to the conclusion if something is not working, it is just "specific circumstances" .Bytheway, this bug somewhere I read was fixed for other phones . And also I am not alone complaining about the bugs, ok, according to you "specific circumstances". But I will not get into the further discussions
Skyguar said:

No, because if nobody can make a phone call, then it's not "specific circumstances"; if you're the only one that can't make a call, there must be some circumstance preventing you from doing so. You really don't know much about logic.
I don't think it comes for xperia t any other series which came with xperia t.
I recently stumbled upon this news
http://motoringcrunch.com/news/sony-xperia-getting-exclusive-kitkat-4-4-3-features/10018672/
Sony website still says 'under investigation' but there still might be hope for us T, TX and V users yet.
I doubt that they are actually still investigating if our devices are compatible with KitKat. More likely, they are already working on the new firmware and dont want anyone to know because then they would get thousands of messages about ETA and that stuff.
Sony cant just leave us alone with a more or less working 4.3 as the last update.
In Japan they have this law that they can only keep a appliance, gadgets or cars for a certain period of time and if they want it to keep it for a longer time they have to pay a higher tax. Maybe Sony apply that principle of this law to our devices

[Q] Is there any news on a Xperia SP SONY kitkat 4.4 rom?

Hi guys,
I would like to ask if there is any new Xperia SP rom featuring Sony's apps, framework, theme, etc (Like xperia z2/3 stock rom) and running on Kitkat 4.4.4?
I'm really sad that there aren't many developers anymore who want to create this I'm sick of 4.3
Anyway thanks for reading!
My friend have LG G2 and use Cloudy G3, ported G3 rom with all features from G3....Does it have way to port Xperia M2/E1/E3 or Z series 4.4 for SP with all features
that would be great, but i think our device isn't that popular and there are no many devs interested to do this...

Of course it is capable... But sony gives us semy-finished android 4.3, i would be more than happy if we have good android 4.3, but we havn't... There are a lot worse phones that are runing stock 4.4.4...
I have never flashed so many roms on one phone and still no good rom with normal ram management and without home redraw...
Now i give up and go on official cyanogenmod and hopes for best...
I think cyanogenmod is last station until i got money for nexus 5 or something similar... ☺
Little off topic but i must say all that...
Sorry for my bad english...
Edit: one more thing...if our developers knew that there will not be an official kit kat maybe they would do more to port stock 4.4.4...we al waited for official and when our device get old SONY decided that we ar not capable... Uh...

I couldn't say it better myself! I love Sony but when I heard of abandoned Kitkat update, it felt like a knife in my back... The reason I'm not going for Cm 11 (or 12) is that I'm really used to sony's interface and apps :/ So it's kind of a bummer that we have to stick witch (good) 4.3 roms...
There should be a way to get people more attracted making SP roms...
And cool! Love the nexuses!

I used this to debloat with no issues http://forum.xda-developers.com/crossdevice-dev/sony/wip-debloat-lp-690-correct-functioning-t3076161. And there is only one rom as you see in the development section. And I don't believe he has been on in a while
This is a problem. I like the look of the z3+ but without dev support I cannot bring myself to buy one.

To be honest im happy enough with working recovery and having xposed. But development support would be great.
I've just seen that all the sources are there, including Marshmallow:
http://developer.sonymobile.com/201...a-devices-added-to-sonys-open-device-project/
I'm almost tempted to get the device to see if I can do it myself.

You have my support!
What is stopping it working? Lack of Sony giving people the tools for daily driver. Or this phone is slowly dying, in which means why not just let devs go.

Why do you blame the developer while getting bugs on a alpha version?
OEMv2c is still an alpha version
And at the moment are the xz2/c/3 the only real usable devices in the new 4.14
(Xperia 1/5 too somehow)
It just takes time, developers are humans with a 8 hours work day or less if they do it as an volunteer work for free for you the enduser in their spare time after a full day of hard work to pay their families and the bug is already known
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
By the way
The Sony open devices project by Sony makes development and kernel upgrades much easier.
But more volunteers working for free for you === faster progress
