Hi all! I really want to buy the Xperia Z1 but I'm an american and I might have to import it. I keep on looking at a site called Negri. I want to buy it unlocked but it has to work on tmobile's HSPA+42 network. I hear there are different models but I don't see model listing numbers on any sites for preorder. My phone currently is a lg G2x. I've tried many custom roms but its on its last legs.
I keep on looking at sony.com and sony mobile.com but I don't even see it for preorder (usa sites). Is the Negri the international version?
If anyone knows anything please give me a hand. Also is the bootloader locked?

I've been looking at Negri's site also for the Z1. According to the spec description, all the necessary bands are there for it to work on T-Mo. I say you contact Negri customer service to confirm that or just wait till the phone is released on T-Mo. With T-Mo carrying the Z, I wouldn't count them out on carrying the Z1. Just for your reference, my international HOX is getting the 3G sign on T-Mo instead of the H.
Order from clove.co.uk or handtec.co.uk
they are better than negrielectronics, plus usually negri kinda lags on their shipping dates because they get their devices from wholesalers or dealers w/e.
order from the above sites, its about 20 dollars cheaper, and you get a FREE SMART WATCH ($250)!!!!
plus they will get the device starting on the 16th, so it will ship 16-20, with 1-3 day shipping to the US.
The devices sold by these two companies are C6903 which have all the freq/bands for t-mobile. So it should work unless something horrible goes wrong when we get them (doesnt work lol).

Hi all,
I just recently switched to T-Mobile from Sprint, so please excuse my ignorance.
I'm looking to pre-order the phone from one of 2 UK sites; www.clove.co.uk and/or www.unlocked-mobiles.com.
Does the phone need to be unlocked for use of T-Mobile?
Are phones from UK auto unlocked or do I need to check with these 2 companies?

Thanks for the source for ordering the Z1 in Europe. These are really great deals, Negri is pretty much $50 more (that's what it looks like when I run the conversion on XE.com) and there's no smart watch offer. Hopefully I'll be able to save up enough before these deals are gone.

The phones on the sites above should be unlocked. You should probably pick between clove and handtec that were recommended, unlock-mobiles offers the phone around the same price, but doesn't have the offer for free Sony Smart Watch 2. Clove and handtec will be the better deal.

I've put the product in the basket and almost went through the ordering process just so I could see the actual USD total in Paypal. The cost is running close to $78X.XX which is quite high, but do remember, they're throwing in the smartwatch 2 which is worth at least $250. Just want to make sure you don't get shocked by the bill. Paypal may or may not be using the currency rate from XE.com or other currency sites.
I ordered mine from HandTec UK and it is 1-3 day FedEx shipping to the US. The cool thing is that it also comes with a free Smartwatch 2! I checked with T-Mobile and the unlocked Xperia Z1 should support all the bands for HSPA and 4G LTE.

Bought my purple Hong Kong C6903 variant in early October from Negri, and couldn't be happier! LTE works great on T-Mobile USA!
For anyone who cares the Nexus 5 is officially out in Hong Kong. Its being sold by LG, rather than Google. Price is around HK$3,800 - 3,900 depending on where you buy it. Big name retailers such as Broadway are selling it. Only the 16GB model is presently available.

Why is it HK always gets the low storage. First note 3, now this! Infuriating!!
Nice! I'm in Hong Kong right now, considering this (my Google Play order wont ship until November 8). Do you know if the International version will work on US networks and LTE bands, specifically T-Mobile?

no. LTE wont work in North Americia. But 3G will work of course.
Damn. I had a feeling LTE wouldn't but was holding out hope. Oh well, guess I'll have to play the patience game some more..
Hond Kong LTE use band 3, and the US version of Nexus does not support that.
But does anyone know on the UMTS 2100, is HSPA supported by the NEXUS 5?
wonder when nexus 5 32 gb will release in hong kong.. right now for that price its still a steal!
heard from wilson guy that around nov 20 there will be google play order available in hk, with price around HKD3200..
dont yell at me how ridiculous this may be.. im just repeating their words..
is this really possible (that google play order is coming to hk)?

HK Google Play store would be a very welcome development.
I think I am probably going to wait it out for around a month or two and hopefully the N5 price is drop a bit or at least a 32GB model will make its way to HK, otherwise seems the Oz store has the best value at the moment.
Fortress
Dear All,
I was at Fortress MK (MK New Century Mall) and they are selling it for $3,880.00. The guy says ONLY 16GB and I asked about 32GB and he said no. I don't believe him since he had to check 5 minutes to give me a price on the N5. Late Nov. HK PlayStore have it? I highly doubt it. I'm waiting till close to Christmas to buy it as the price will go down and retailers will have discounts.
if u go to "smaller" shops in mongkok/wanchai etc. the price is now in the range of 3700+..
Make sure..

Yes, parallel import will be cheaper in price but watch for what you get. Remember, US version (D820) won't work in HK for LTE. We have (D821) which is international version to work for Asia. I would stay with Fortress, Broadway etc. to be safe.

As long as the smaller shop confirms its HK stock and you can get local warranty through LG I don't see an issue buying through them.
Remember the D821 is also being sold in Australia where the price is actually quite comparable to the North American prices. But you won't get local LG warranty if you get that.
Was at Broadway Shatin on Friday, asked if 32gb was available, sales said usually Hong Kong only get one version.
Agreed that it is expensive to buy from them, if really available through Play Store at end of November then Ill be one of the first to buy from there!
Was just in WCC.
Asked two shops for price, one said HK$4.2k the other said HK$3.9k!!!!! Local stock.
Wasn't going to buy and was in a bit of a hurry so didn't ask around too many places or try and negotiate for price.

I live in India and am planning to buy Z3C from UK as the prices there (Handtec or Clove) are at least INR 10,000 less than what I have to pay for it in India where it is priced at a ridiculous INR 45K. The Z1C is available for around INR 15K less than Z3C now in India and I'm wondering if this 15K difference is even worth it? Anyways, my friend who is coming from UK can buy it for me. Even if Sony India do not honor the warranty on it I think 10000 price difference justify my risk. I also see that Handtec gives 24 months warranty on it while I get only one year warranty in India.
My question is does the UK version that Handtec sell has LTE 4G and will that work in India? Is this exactly the same device as sold in India?
Thanks,

But, if I dont need the LTE 4G in India, I should be fine right? I mean will it have any effect on 3G connectivity in India? A such 4G LTE coverage is very limited in India and I live in a place where I dont expect to get LTE 4G any time soon.

Hey, I'm also from India and interested in buying the Z3C from Clove. Can you let me know how it goes? If everything works fine with our Indian networks.
About the warrany I sent an email to Clove and they said it's only valid in Europe. So that might be a problem but for INR 10,000 cheaper it's certianly worth it.
Thanks, hope you get the device and everything works perfectly. Please let me how it works out for you :good:

Please dont count on me on this. I'm still debating whether to purchase from outside and if so, from UK or US. I have decided that even if I am purchasing it will be the D5833 model, the one sold in India. It is available in US. It will be at least a month or two before I get these though. I am waiting for the prices to drop further. Meanwhile my three year old GS-II is still rocking.

When Worst Buy states "Unlocked" what does that specifically mean ? To me unlocked = Nexus type freedom, as in unlocked bootloader and freedom to root with ease.
I hope BB doesn't mean unlocked as in SIM card and network only. Because noways that's totally legal for all phones to be unlocked per the U.S Govt. law this year. That should not even be listed as special feature nowadays.

When I went to Best Buy, they had the unlocked stickers on the edge of the table. There was about a $50+ markup on the unlocked models over the carrier ones. According to the Samsung rep, Best Buy is trying to bring more unlocked (Samsung) phones in their stores. The S6 Edge+ 64GB for example was $919.99

I went to best buy today in Milwaukee and spoke with someone from best buy as well as the samsung rep - both said that they did not offer an unlocked phone - and said they were not aware of any best offering unlocked phones. Had to choose a carrier when you bought the phone - I think I saw that you are in HOUSTON ? Maybe that is a test market or something? It aint happening here - (though I really wish it was - I would much prefer buying an unlocked phone that i could use anywhere.

We actually end up having a lot of "test market" experiences here so I wouldn't put it past it. I never actually considered that being the case as most of the Best Buy stores here in Houston contain a fairly large number of unlocked phones. I was actually surprised to see the unlocked S6 edge+ stickers all over the area. They weren't pushing it but they said it is something they offer.

crap - I wish they did that here in Milwaukee -
Just wondering if people considering buying from never-msrp or those that have bought from them realize they do not offer any warranty on their devices? Literally zilch and not even the manufacturers warranty is apparently honored?
Further, contacted them 6 days ago with couple of questions and no response. Sent a follow up couple of days ago and still no response.
So apart from price wondering if I am missing something here..... They dont honor manufacturers warranty, they dont offer any warranty (unless you buy extra from 3rd party) and they apparently can't be bothered to even reply so they can take my money...Wondering what they would be like then if something goes wrong
Is there anyone else people recommend with similar pricing but honors warranty and has good customer service?
I am after the 64gb dual sim SM-N950F/DS and they are selling it for $820 delivered.
Manufacturers typically don't give warranty for grey market devices. Or more accurately, they will only honor the warranty in the market the device was made for, so if you buy a Korean phone, Samsung USA won't honor the warranty but you can still get warranty on it if you send it back to Korea.

Right. Except I read never-msrp will not do that and will have nothing further to do with the process once you have bought it unlike some other sellers that will deal with Samsung in their region to honor warranty for you and ship replacement back to you and so on. Never-msrp hasn't even bothered to respond yet...
In one case, if true, the customer had a Sony phone and Sony USA wouldnt honor the warranty and Sony HK upon being presented the device and ebay/paypal purchase receipt wouldnt honor the warranty either claiming that it was sold overseas and warranty is no longer valid (of course that isn't Samsung so not sure what Samsung might pull especially since you wouldn't have any support from never-msrp or their original purchase receipt...)
Warranty is a concern when you are spending near $1000 or more...
OP, you don't want to buy from that seller anyway. That variant has the OEM unlock time released cancer.

What do you mean by OEM unlock time released cancer? Don't they all take 7 days past activation and usage for the OEM UNLOCK to show up?
Then who apart from Clove is good? Still clarifying with qd_us if theirs shows OEM UNLOCK or not (last response was their's are Taiwan SM-N950F/DS, region free and no one has reported any issues yet).
And one thing I do not get is why don't people flash the XSG firmware on to their SM-N950F/DS (or for that matter the EU firmware or something else)? XSG apparently is confirmed to work and shows OEM UNLOCK and allows Samsung Pay functionality.

Factor in the DHL shipping and it works out to $950. This is one big mess. Korean version no issues, EU version no issues if activated in EU first and 5 min call is made, HK/CN version apparently might work, UAE version apparently ok, the U version apparently locked down junk, the SG/TW sourced versions may or may not work (at least TW from never-msrp may not work)....

No, as mentioned here the EU (F model that has been activated with a 5 Min call in the region) and the Korean (N) mode are not infected.
Good choice.
As for The Korean (N) model.......
..... The (N) model is best for AT&T (since N has 1900 frequency) , however not so much for T-Mobile since TM uses 1700, which the N models doesn't have.

ATT sucks in AZ anyway lol
I've purchased a Galaxy Tab Pro and a S from them before. Devices were both brand new and had no issues so I'm not certain as of the warranty service. But I do believe they offer a limited 30 day warranty or something if the product malfunctions. Like the posters above said, the manufacturer warranty is usually covered by the country the product is shipped from. They sell mostly international variants so it makes sense.

They dont honor manufacturers warranty, they dont offer any warranty (unless you buy extra from 3rd party) and they apparently can't be bothered to even reply so they can take my money...Wondering what they would be like then if something goes wrong [emoji23]
Is there anyone else people recommend with similar pricing but honors warranty and has good customer service?
I am after the 64gb dual sim SM-N950F/DS and they are selling it for $820 delivered.

Yeah, they are **** heads. I remember about 7 months ago contacting them vis eBay in respect of buying a Samsung tab s2, their response was sub par at best. I ended up buying it from someone else.

I bought a Note 8 from Never MSRP. So far it seems to be good but I was little worried since the "security seal" on the box is the old white style found on S4 or S5 plus the Ink quality on the security label looked pretty shabby. The colour of the black fades. When I turned the phone on it loaded right away to a loaded phone screen which might also indicate that it wasn't factory sealed. Normally you would have to go through all the initial settings like language and what not first, am I right here ?
So other then that, it does seem like its a legit note 8 as far as performance goes. I am slightly worried that its a really really good fake but everything works so far and I'm using a T mobile sim.
It is a mystery to me as to how this unscrupulous ebay seller never msrp has a 99% favorable rating. I purchased a galaxy s8 plus, and when it arrived I noticed the ebay listing stated there was an adapter included. This aroused my suspicion that this was an international version, with no manufacturer's warranty. Amazon sellers clearly indicate when items are international version/no u.s. warranty. Not sure why ebay does not demand this kind of transparency. I returned the phone in an unopened box, and in addition to shelling out $10 in return shipping fees, I had to wait 8 days for a refund. Stay far away from this seller, awful experience
I got mine from amazon for 700ish from my company. It comes with no warranty either but I'm not worried about it. I'd go for the pixel 2 xl instead of the note 8. It's def not worth 850 of your hard earned money. If it was 600ish sure.
Bought the Samsung SM-N950U for $649.99 at Amazon today. 300 bucks combined savings, incl. $100 amazon prime membership.
The note 8 from never MSRP is going for 539.99. I bought an S8+ from them a year ago and tempted to get the note. Is it silly to upgrade from s8+ knowing the 2 phones are almost similar?

Tough decisions:laugh:, always too many choices, they also ran promotion for LG V35 ThinQ $599.99, but I realized they slipped some amazon software into that phone and I really wanted that stylus.
