Play Store Update - Verizon LG G2

My Play Store just updated about 20 minutes ago to this look. It appears to me to be more pleasing aesthetically, but that's just my opinion. Here are some screenshots of it.

If everyone else already has it, sorry. Just thought I'd share just in case some users haven't received it. Have a good day fellow XDA'ers

Yep, got it here too. Also, my Google Play Music app updated as well, more pleasing to the eye amd good with their branding.

Did anyone else lose the notification bar integration with these updates? The apps no longer extend into the notification bar as they used to. Yes, the material design is nice, but that's driving me nuts. I want my transparent notification bar back in the apps!

i like it

[Q] FB widget for notifications?

I currently have the widget Blue Notify for Facebook notifications, which is ok I guess but instead of the FB notifications just going to the notification bar it would be much better if there was a widget like the Launcher Pro Plus Facebook newsfeed widget that just listed notifications, does anyone know of such a thing?
I'm contemplating just getting a RSS widget and using the RSS feed of FB notifications but that isn't a very elegant solution. I really wish Facebook would give their native Android app the love that it needs especially surrounding the news feed & notifications, plus not linking outside of the app to view certain things!
I wish they would design it like the iPhone app (yea I said that dreaded word here) I miss being able to filter out groups and just be able to see my friends and family updates again

Its been a LONG TIME since Ive used an iJunk so I cant say that I remember the facebook app on it. What I can say is that (unfortunately) I did own a Motorola Backflip. I hated the phone, but the facebook widget on that phone was great. I havent seen it on any other phone, but would love to be able to use it on my Captivate. Does anyone know of a way?

Great Live Wallpaper Clock!

I just found this app, this is perfect for AMOLED screens. Looks great too.
This is not my app, just like to share it. Also the clock being wider than the screen is BY DESIGN, I like it, just like the ZuneHD/Windows Phone 7 UI.
Full Version, 69 cents:

I found it on the market and I'm running 2.3.1

Same here running 2.3.1 market nexus s
Good find, thanks. Purchased.

That does look nice. But 69 cents? I thought the lowest it could get for developers was 99 cents? Well, whatever.
It's now showing on the 2.3.1 because I emailed the author regarding the Market issue, and he took off copy protection soon after.
Is there any way to disable the clock on the lock screen? It would look much better

I'm wondering the same thing, lock screen clock gets in the way.
Can you change font size and the order the time and date are in? Curious before I buy.
I can see why but the free version is very limited so I can't really get a feel for if I'll like the paid version. Of course I could just try it I suppose, thanks to the 24hr refund policy
just bought it, it is only 69 cents. very cheap but looks great.
I'm worried about the battery drain. While it seems to not do as much depleting as other live wallpapers, my battery usage seems to be dropping faster than I'm normally used to. After a full night's charge, by the end of the work day (5 PM), with moderate use, I have roughly 50% or so left, give or take. It's currently 4 oclock and my battery is at 37%.
How is everyone else' experience with this wallpaper and battery?

You mean the new 15min refund? Google scrapped the 24h refund.

Full version is updated with more options and better battery life optimization. And promise of weather info in the next update. Good wallpaper just got greater.
With the new update the time is not centered and I'm not really a fan of the bounce animation. Wish I could go back to 1.3.2 version.
nice concept, but... it's an aweful waste of space in the home screen real state
you have to sacrifice like 3 rows of icons to be able to see the time & date properly
i'll hard to integrate into any theme design
i'll stick to Fancy Widget for time + date + weather

Download widget locker from market. It basically adds another home screen for your lock screen that you can add/remove widgets (stock clock) to your liking. I use this anyways because it gives you access to your notification bar without having to unlock your phone and gives you many many more unlock options. It also gives you different slider options if you want to keep the feel stock or change it up.

I agree. The good news is, according to the developer's website, he plans to re-center the clock in the next update.

[IMAGE] iOS 5 beta notification background.

I pulled the notification center background off my 4th gen iPod Touch running 5.0beta 2 after not being able to find it online. I set it as the notification background on my HTC Incredible and it looks pretty nice, but just not really my style. I know a lot of people here are into the iPhone themes so it may come in handy for using as the notification background.

haha yeah, I was looking at that when it was first announced and thinking, "cant wait for all those iPhone "im better than everyone else" users to say how awesome their notification center is, and then we can say we've had it the entire time.
I do like the background though..would look nice on the Ultimate iPhone MIUI theme...you mind if I link the creator to this if he wants to use it?
What's the framework file name called for the notification pulldown?

thank you very much. this saves me the trouble of doing it myself.
+1 Thanks
Why apple is currently obsessed with this linen texture I will never know. It pains me every time it pops up on lion.
*counter-productive to their aesthetic*
Each to their own, however.
i want android clone theme in my iphone

A Better Weather App

This stock weather app stinks.
The most important thing to me is to see live radar and satellite, but with this stock app you have to navigate way too much, and then it is only the size of half the screen, (like looking at my iphone). which weather apps are you folks using, cause clearly this one stinks.
Yahoo weather or nice weather

I'm using Weatherbug Elite. It works well and has all the features you mentioned.
I got wearherbug elite when it was amazon app of the day a long time ago and haven't used anything since

thx, I will go have a look.
any other replies welcome
weather apps
weatherbug elite is good, but IMO, the most versatile weather app is eweather HD..it has widgets for everything (satellite and radar and they are customizable..ie you can layer alerts on them). It isn't the most user-friendly but it's widgets are worth the curve. PYKL3 and Radarscope are the best pure radar apps, but don't have widgets.
1weather has probably the best interface.

thanks, I will give eweather a look.
I am a long time user of radar scope, even convinced my entire police department to get it, but that was when I was with apple.
Now I am on android and it's $29.99 in the play store (I don't wanna pay them twice after all the parading I did for them)

I can understand that, but I just looked at the play store and it shows 9.99 for me (after logging out that is and on my note 3). I don't think I would pay 29.99, but I have it for my wife iphone and my android devices, so to me it's worth 10 on each device. Also take a look at PYKL3, it's 9.99 too, and has a lot of funtcionality but it isn't as polished as radarscope.
an email can't hurt
Hey, send radar scope an email tell them about some of the 'good press' you've given them. You might not even get a reply, but it can't hurt. I've noticed __ with some other companies __ that some of these newer and smaller companies care about their customers, and will do things to help
can't hurt
good luck

another option
Intellicast is good too and if you are into widgets you can try websnap (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.web2mine.wg01.license&hl=en). There is a free trial version to play with.
I use websnap to pull down pieces of pages from accuweather as widgets. The biggest image on this screen shot is websnap pulling from accuweathers website. The bottom graph ia from an app called weatherbomb. You can also use websnap to pull other parts of pages too, not just weather.
Mycast is exactly what you're looking for.

Just googled it and watched the vid, looks cool, thx.
Im trying to avoid buying anything until im sure of what I wanna do though, (don't want a whole bunch of paid apps not being used)
I'm another Yahoo Weather user. It looks beautiful. I'm usually more likely to just use Google Now, though, whether it be a widget on my homescreen or me just opening the search. It's pretty clean looking and easy!
I use 1weather for forecasts, alerts and widgets (which are awesome). For radar I use MyRadar...
Together both these apps met my needs!

Lots of great alternatives, keep them coming, (someone should make this a sticky)

Decent Lollipop/other lockscreen replacements

I got this phone (full disclosure: S6 Active) to replace my nexus 5 that stopped holding a charge. So far I really like it and through the Samsung theme store and Nova launcher, etc, I've been able to add enough stock Android to my phone to make it wonderful.
The lone area that I have NOT been able to get decent satisfaction is in finding a quality lockscreen replacement app. Ideally I'd love one that was an exact mirror of Lollipop and I tried a few that I found poking around the app store and they were either buggy messes or had very intrusive ads. I also tried Next lockscreen and have currently settled on Hi Lockscreen which, while adequate, isn't perfect.
The stock S6 lockscreen is crippled by being both ugly and not nearly as functional as I'd like (highlight a notification and then swipe? no thanks) so I'd like to find something better than both it and Hi Lockscreen. I'd be extra happy if I can interact (like delete gmails, etc.) with notifications from the lockscreen and not just open up into the app like in stock Lollipop but that's not a dealbreaker.
I'm willing to give anything a try - I look forward to your suggestions.
Thanks!
I used to use cover lock screen a lot on my N5. It's different and pretty cool

I just downloaded CM locker and it's great so far. It also works with phones fingerprint sensors (regular S6 that I have).
