I get download speeds of about 50Mbps...
I get 30+ on LTE and 70 on WiFi.
Yeah I can get faster speeds standing next to the router, but its not as speedy when far away.
I compared side by side: Note 4 always load faster than Note 3 and Z3 with Youtube and Chrome.
Are you trying it with an Asus router? In my own tests, the Note 4 seems to perform worse with Asus routers like the RT-AC68U, but faster with the Netgear! I think the phone needs some driver optimisations
the note 4 and galaxy tab series have an amazing wifi radio. they both pull like 70mbps in the furthest room in my house on my Asus dark Knight router. whereas my g2 only pulled 25mbps.. same with my nexus 7. this thing rocks.

Unfortunately, I experience a **** ton of Wifi drops - so yeah, my wifi performance has been less than satisfactory on this phone. Probably one of the only gripes I've had about it.

Echoing this as well. Connection is unreliable even when near router. Maybe I should try to connect on 2.4Ghz and try again (all the while on 5Ghz and it's crap). My Cat 6 LTE speed (typically betweek 80-110Mbps) trash what I could get on WiFi.
My note 4 is less stable and has less range than my LG g2. But here are the results. On my moca 1.1 connection with 300' of coax between moca boxes and my dir-825 wireless router.
Note 4
73.58mb down
22.51mb up
78.12mb down

Have been using 5g on my note 4 since release with an ac68u on the Merlin fork firmware by John. Never experienced any drops or low speed even when im on the second floor with the door closed in my room, when the router is down stairs.
The only thing in unhappy about is that using ES file explorer, transferring a file to and from my NAS to the phone is limited to about 10.5MBps. Much better than the note 3 of course but was expecting at least 30MBps or so....

I compare with iPhone 6 Plus, it load faster than it. It is loaded pretty fast to me. By the way mine is Exynos edition. No worried here.
Just got my Note 4 yesterday and just ran a test on my wi-fi right now... 125 mbs down and 12 mbs up. Basically identical to my desktop, can't complain at all.
For everyone posting speed tests please specify what technology your the signal was on at the time. Please do not post stupid answers like 'Get a new router' or 'Upgrade your ISP' these people are idiots so don't be one. Every router I try with the results are the same. Note 4 about 1/3rd the speed of the Note 3 being tested. FYI the upload is slow just like the download.
Here with 802.11 G/N 2.4 Ghz, the speed is complete crap compared to the Note 3. Even went as far as re-flashing the whole phone and no luck. Added a separate SSID as Fast to my router on 5 Ghz n 40 Mhz and connected to it. Didn't make a difference.
There are lots of reports online and I'm sure they're going to be more:

Its worth noting that the speedtest.net app has never NEVER gotten close to my broadband speed on any Android handset I have owned so far, even though WiFi throughput when tested by iperf is usually much greater than my broadband speed.
Also, my Note 4 had a day one update waiting that once I applied has messed up my WiFi performance. Before the update I noticed Google Play installing apps at my full average broadband speed of 66Mbit, after the update its all over the place. Its bad, but it does at least suggest this is a software problem so fixable.
Interestingly, before the update when connected at 866Mbit 802.11ac, I got EXACTLY the same throughput (260Mbit) as the Note 3 did connected at 433Mbit.
On the other hand WiFi reliability seems to be vastly superior to the Note 2 or 3. When I do anything with the LIFX app its instant, there was always a little delay on the Note 3.

You might want to say that this is normal in Asia. I live in Europe and besides 4G that is just deploying, average ADSL stays below 15 MB download. I'm quite lucky and have 20 MB through ADSL and up to 55~60 with 4G [emoji41]

Hey well wanted to report my results from last night. Needless to say I am unhappy with "4g" and tethering. Least in VA T-Mobile.
Ok Tablet speedtest.net results.
1.5Mbit DL / 0.5~1.1Mbit UL (Sounds ok not too bad compared to my G1 on 3g which was 400 kbps)
Now here is where it goes to hell.
Wifi Tether then using speedtest.net on my PC
0.5 Mbit DL / 0.2~0.4 Mbit UL Ping 600+ to test server. Lag on video gaming like Team Fortress 2 was horrible... 500~1000ms ping to server.
I said hell with that tried USB tether. CONSIDERABLE performance increase!
1.0 Mbit DL / 0.5 Mbit UL Ping 165 to test server.
Team fortress 2 kept me at about 150~185 ms ping. Which didnt stutter too much, I was able to play smoothly online, Couldnt dogfight close and personal as well since I was a lil lagged behind but it is playable enough to perform respectably. =)
Now this is using the built in android 2.2 tether on the DS7. I do not know if there are better apps or rooted apps that would increase performance of tethering? Anyone know? It seems rather fishy that a wifi tether would drop in bandwitdh SOOOOO much on a high end system setup.
Also another note. USB tethering, does not seem to drain the battery! I had it fully charged and during my entire night of TF2ing, it stayed fully charged! NICE! =)
Test results was from Virginia Beach, VA, connecting to Washington DC speedtest.net
Anyone have some performance or tricks to get better bandwitdh results? =)

I've received both of the Nexus 7's I ordered and they both have absolutely terrible wifi performance. Each of them gets < 1 Mbps when but one meter from my wireless router. Thought it could be the router, but enabled the wireless on my modem and found the same problem.
My Macbook Air can get signal from the router almost a block away yet *both* of these tablets struggle to get even 1 Mbps. What's going on, any one else experience this?
Are you talking about a speed test throughput performance? Or actual wireless link speed to the router?
My Nexus gets about 23Mbps down. My Link speed is 65 Mbps
Don't have this issue..

I have poor wireless network signal strength and get 'out of range' messages even though the router or phone I'm going to tether it to is just inches away. I even watched the list of SSIDs toggle between "out of range" and "connecting" on one occasion. My phone and other tablet show full strength signals while the N7 has just one bar and I sometimes get the "Web page not available" screen. I appreciate that's technically different to download speeds but IME there is a wifi issue with some units
I'm in the process of returning it for a replacement because of this and a couple of other screen problems
I must always have good luck. I have no problems with my 7... just did a speed test in the worst part of the house and got 27mbps...

How are you getting 45mb downstream, isn't that higher than what the nexus can do?
Most I've had from my nexus 7 is 33mb - on my PC I get 105mb, so 33mb isn't pushing my connection.

I'm a network guy and this sounds like a classic case of stepping on someone elses wifi channel.
When 2 routers broadcast on the same frequency, you'll get this because they get confused and packets are being rejected by the affecting router.
Solution : change channels.
This happened to me when I bought my new house a few years back. Moved in and my wifi was iffy sometimes... wouldn't see the router located in the same room. I did a wifi scan and sure enough my neighbors was blasting out the same frequency.
Channels 1, 6, and 11 are 3 that are far enough apart they won't step over another. Its good practice to ONLY use these 3 because if you use an oddball like 9, you'll get interference from 6 and 11.
Custom router firmwares like Tomato actually have scanners and show what the neighboring wifi networks are broadcasting. Alternatively you can download Wifi Scanner from the market. It has several graphs and power stats of each detected network. Then you can see which one is less busy.
Most routers default to channel 6 and people don't know what it is, so they don't change it. You'll probably want to use 1 or 11. I actually offered my services to all my neighbors just so we could all get along.

g versus n issue perhaps?
My N7 is getting terrible wifi performance at home. Frequently connecting at the 1 or 2 mbps fallback rates at 50 paces from the router. The home setup is a pair of very standard WRT54GLs on different channels (different floors) running DD-WRT. I've haven't yet needed to go above 802.11g, since the incoming internet speed just isn't that fast. Everything else in the house connects at 36-54. No other wifi interference (fairly rural).
At work, we have an extensive Cisco 802.11n infrastructure. The same N7 connects at 65 (the max with one antenna) just dandy, and speedtest agrees. It's a little worse than some other wifi devices about 'hopping' (it won't go to the next wifi AP until it's down to one bar), but that's often tweakable.
I'm getting really poor connections on some public hotspots and fine on others. My suspicion is that it's bad on 802.11g and good on 802.11n. Possible?
The WiFi is brilliant on my 7. Much better than my phone

Your local tower/site might be being upgraded to LTE. If so, you should expect some down time. My site literally went offline for a few days (100% roaming on Verizon) until they finished whatever upgrade they were doing. Got LTE about a week later. But as stated, your mileage may vary.

I'm coming from a Nexus S 4G too and this phone has so much better reception, especially wifi. Don't really get LTE that often though, which is kind of disappointing because I actually had pretty good WiMAX coverage. But I know LTE coverage will only get better with time.
Signal != Data speed. If your signal is good but your data speed is slow, it's most likely that the sector is overloaded or the site is currently backhaul limited. It sounds like the site you connect to hasn't had Network Vision upgrades yet. Go familiarize yourself with Network Vision over at s4gru.com.
Call sprint before you return it. I had the same thing. I had great signal with my HTC Evo 3d and when I switched to the S4, I was dropping calls like crazy and with 1 bar or no signal. Found out that they were updating the towers and I also have 4g in my area now. Woot!

Hello,
I'm not even sure if the phone connect to Tmobile LTE bands, but according to the spec sheet, the phone does have all the Tmobile LTE bands (2,4,12). But I only get about 4~6Mbps download and 1~2 Mbps upload speed running speedtest.
Anything I can do to improve the speed? I already create a new APN and tried with different settings like IPv4/IPv6 and IPv4 alone.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Anyone ?? No one has the same issue as me? I also flashed the AQI4 latest firmware with AQI4 baseband and things seem a bit better, but still very slow.
Probably need to flash a T-Mobile CSC and we might need to call them and have them provision something with our IMEI as well. My N950N has the same slow issue as you, but I noticed if I insert the SIM, for a few minutes the data speed will be very fast, then suddenly just drops to garbage slow.
Also wondering if perhaps there's a physical issue with some of these. My signal strength and download speeds are garbage again (thought that they were fixed by restoring the stock EFS partition but I appear to have made a mistake).
Testing at my house now next to my Note 5, the Note 8's signal strength bounced between 9-15 dBm worse than the Note 5 (it's signal strength varied by at most 1 dBm), same LTE band and running multiple speed tests concurrently and separately the Note 5 was averaging 100mbps down (testing on the same server for consistency) where the 8 was anywhere between about 16 Mbps to 35.5 Mbps again on the same server.
This is on complete bone stock factory flash with Odin.
Another oddity is that the upload speed was higher on average on the 8, it was 1-5 Mbps higher than on the Note 5 even though the 5 is destroying it in download speeds.
I am really starting to suspect a loose antenna wire.
I have the F/DS Singapore variant on t mobile. Signal strength is great so far and getting 4G+.

In my case it turned out that my usb/antenna/mic/speaker circuit board kind of died after about 1 week - that is why my LTE signal and speeds suddenly dropped. When it was working properly I was able to get download speeds between 100-200+ Mbps, in an area with signal strength approximately -75 dBA, but now in the same area it only gets about -95 to -100 dBA and I'm lucky to get 20 or 30 Mbps. Waiting for replacement parts to become available so I can replace the faulty board.
Also apparently a lot of these are having issues as many people are reporting some or all of the issues related to the components on that board (slow/poor LTE, mic issues, etc).

Thank you so much, it is working now!
I have the Redmi Note 11 6GB/64GB variant (bought it less than a week ago). I got to doing some benchmarking of my phone. I first checked the benchmark scores for my device on various sites and YouTube videos.
First, the Geek Bench 5 scores should be (according to YT reviewers' videos and other websites) around 364 for single core and 1500 for multi core . My device's score was 171 for single core and 911 for multicore.
Then I performed the AnTuTu benchmark and the scores should be around 270k but my score was 173847. Now that's a lot of difference, I wouldn't mind if the score was like 220k or something but 270k to 170k is a lot of difference.
I performed the benchmark tests in the first place because I was facing lag even while using Instagram and scrolling through WhatsApp and Telegram, I have restarted my device several times, the free RAM is always around or more than 3GB, I don't have many apps installed either. I have more than 50% of my storage free, nothing heavy was running in background while testing either. I don't play heavy games or stuff but I at least want my daily use experience to be smooth, what's the point if I can't even scroll Instagram without facing lags?
Here are the screenshots of the scores from Geek Bench and AnTuTu.
I'm extremely dissatisfied with this, should I get a replacement? I'm not really sure if the issue is with my device's hardware or it's MIUI's fault. If it's the latter then I'm ready to flash a custom rom to my phone if it will fix the issue. What could be the problem? Any help is appreciated.

Ya the LTE speeds are somewhat slower on this phone. At my home, on my Pixel 4a I get 20-40 Mbps with Airtel 4G, but on Redmi note 11 I get around 15-30 Mbps. It never cross 30 and reach 40 like pixel 4a.
I have the 6GB/64GB variant.
Also slower WIFI speeds. I have a BSNL Fiber wifi at home. Its just 2.4 Ghz but my pixel 4a reach speed upto 90-100 Mbps, whereas Note 11 never cross 50 Mbps. I know Note 11 will give faster speeds with 5Ghz wifi, but sill if pixel can reach 100mbps with 2.5ghz wifi then Note 11 should have been able to reach those speeds too.
Anyways, 50Mbps wifi and 30Mbps LTE speed is enough for me. So no complaints. LTE speed increases to 50-60mbps when I am in good network coverge area.
it fixed itself or the update i did manually helped (V13.0.7.0.RGKEUXM) but the score now is this:

Can you make a couple of phone calls and try out the same benchmark? I am sure you should see decreased performance.
Check this for what's going on in detail.
