3G Nexus 7 - Where To Buy - B&H .......

The 3g 32gb Nexus will be released tomorrow. Has anyone seen any signs that they are available anywhere besides the play store? I would like to avoid the taxes and/or shipping changes.
PS Does the play store take returns if i have a screen lift problem.
PPS Since I currently do have a 7" tablet, I don't need to buy tomorrow. However, I would like 2 !!!

1) Outside of a T-Mobile "internal" document, I haven't seen any real confirmation about the release tomorrow (or technically today). It very well might happen, but it also might not. I'm hoping B&M stores carry them too, but it's unknown right now.
2) Yes, you have 15 days (or something like that) for a return and a full year warranty directly through Play Store - if you buy through them.

3) No, it was not a question. It was a plea for someone to tell me/justify my impulse to just buy the N7 as soon as it is released. I am also trying to resist buying the Nexus 4 on release.

Go to the play store and see what happens when you try to select the 3G N7. My browser seems to be glitching. Edit, NM, its back to normal now.
And the only place it says that this device will be released is on the official google blog, but beyond that, i haven't heard a single thing. I even called the CS line today, and the only thing they told me was that "There is no definite release date."

It was not released in Australia along with the N4 and the N10.

Ditto. Was a bit of a git getting on to the website intially, but I managed and I've ordered it. 3-5 working days delivery (£13.99 p&p) . I got in work late as I didnt want them selling out before I got one... waited bloody ages for this.
It seems that no "bricks and mortar" outlets will currently stock the 3g version of the Nexus 7 in the UK and the only place to get it is Play Store.

For those of you that got the HSPA+ N7, did you get a notification in your email saying that it had gone on sale first?

from the looks of things, only people in EU/etc are getting availability so far.... which means they prob just checked the store and it was there.

Yeah I got an email at the moment the play store had the Nexus 7 3G in stock. However, I'd been checking it every few minutes anyway

I've been patiently waiting for this to come out, but it seems no stores are stocking it online. Not in the UK so Google Play order while possible, is a bit pointless.
Are there any retailers indicating they'll get stock soon?

There is NO indication at this point that any retailers apart from Google Play will be stocking the 3g version of the Nexus 7. I checked thoroughly or I would have bought in a shop rather than online, as I would have prefered to have checked the thing over.

3G Version is LIVE in the US Play Store.
Website is sloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow.

Haha I ordered it before I ever received the email saying it was ready to go! I hope there are design changes so that the flickering is gone.

WTF. This is pissing me off. I can't get my order to go through. Keeps giving me errors and just hangs.
Plus, their phone support just shut down incoming calls.

Just got my ordered from play store at 9:09am PST. Total was $336.16 (California tax and $13.99 for 2 day shipping). It took me around 10 tries to finally get it to check out.

I finally got through too. My first browser just hung so I did a second order and it went through. Took like 40mins from start to finish. This unit better be perfect. I'm going to return my (perfect) 32GB once I receive the 3G unit, so I'll be pissed if I need to RMA the 3G one for some defect.

US store indicates the following:

So I'm creating this thread to try and determine a percentage value (%) for how many people were actually able to successfully order the new Nexus 4 device on the Launch Date (Nov 13th, 2012) from the Google Play Store.

I'm in Toronto, Canada and was unable to order the Nexus 4 from Google Play, due to server errors.
I tried to order from about 11:36am to 12 noon with no success.

I was able to order mine at 8:34 pacific here in Washington state.

I'm in Germany, I managed to get one after a series of errors. I actually thought I hadn't made it also but then saw an email confirmation later.
But it's not been shipped yet.. :crying:

I was able to order one are 1:00PM EST. Was unsuccessful earlier, but kept refreshing and using Page Monitor Chrome extension. Got a 16GB N4 that is scheduled to ship before the week is over.

never saw the 'add to cart' button once.. stayed up all night and morning constantly refreshing, including at 8.00am when others said it went live.. uk ... there's some kind of con going on, I couldn't of tried any harder.

In UK, there at 8am refreshing until i got the ready for order. Had exactly the same experience as everyone else, errors galore on the order process, tried adding the bumper, the 16gb and 8gb, ended up getting an order for the 8gb and bumper! My credit card shows the amount as pending to come out, and Google wallet says shipping 15th.
Whoop whoop! Come on Google, redeem yourselves with the order process for those who managed to get through the initial mess!

Yes thats true I did hear that the UK had Out of Stock signs shown earlier than US/Canada.

Operation - Trick Best Buy on Sale of Nexus 5

Here is an idea that requires everyone to participate.
Plan: Try and get Best Buy to sell you a Nexus 5 before official launch. Maybe they have stock already.
Action: Call your local Best Buy and act dumb. Tell them you want to buy the Nexus 5 and to put one on hold for you to pick up. Or walk into a store if you prefer and do the same. Ask them if perhaps they have a Nexus 5 sitting in the back of the store. Make no mention of the fact that it hasn't officially been announced for sale.
I forget exactly which phone was sold before it was officially released a years or so ago. I remember reading that this guy got a phone before time and he was a bit nervous about it but posted details online about it. So this is possible people! If you remember this incident and the phone remind us.
If everyone does it we might get lucky and have more info to share on the Nexus 5.
Of course report back if you are successful. It might even be fun to report the failed outcomes too. Be creative. See if you can snag an inventory screen shot. See if at least they tell you that they are back there but that they can't be touched.
PS - Don't be that guy. If you think this is a stupid plan be polite. Offer your opinion and insight in a respectful way. You can't say it isn't possible because this has happened before. Sure there are practices in place to prevent this. But all it takes is one rookie mistake and things go unexpected. This is all in good fun. We might get lucky!

We don't know if Best Buy is going to sell the Nexus 5. But they might. They sell all the other Google products (Nexus 7, Chromecast, Chromebook, etc). We also know from a particular Canadian store that there is Nexus 5 inventory. So the Nexus 5 isn't going to be exclusive to the Play Store. None if this is definite for Best Buy, but it can't hurt to try our luck. Perhaps Google learned from the N4 launch that Play Store only sales is bad way to launch a product.
... And I got my N4 and N10 from the Play Store on launch day.

Are you talking about those end cap displays? I thought they were only for N7, Chromcast

I may try this tomorrow if I'm bored before work. Ha I'll report back.

I bought the n7 2 days early at BB too...I saw the box up above in those locked cages...so I pointed and asked for it...worth a try I guess.

UK CarPhone Warehouse has 3,000 in stock according to a leak , I wonder if it would work there as in best buy? Does it depend on how clueless the staff is?

I think there is a definite possibility it will be sold at Best Buy. Google seems to be taking a different direction with this phone. More hype, and evleaks posted that it is going to be available on Sprint..

a friend of mine who works at BB as a manager told me they are expecting to sell the phone, but that they have yet to receive any units and might not get them until after its already out. This is on LI NY btw

If they're going to sell the phone it should be in their inventory systems; it's an easy thing to check.

Very true, that's why I find it's hard to believe that they'll have the N5 at launch. Someone should've posted a picture of the inventory already. I know I would if I was still there. (Like for the Wii's and PS3's.)

I'm pretty confident they are. I visit my local BestBuy yesterday and asked a customer service rep. He said he knew what I was talking about and went to ask his manager if he could sell it. When he came back 2-3 minutes later, he told me suddenly he wasn't permitted to talk about it because it's not official, so he couldn't legally converse over it. I'm going to try back at another location and see if I can get someone to pop early there, I also got my Nexus 7 2013 48 hours before launch just because I asked. Some guy went in the back and got it for me. Worth a try I suppose.

I was wondering for the some of you that received orders from GPlay the past few days did you guys need to sign for the package? I just got my shipping confirmation and I ordered 1 day shipping so Im hoping it comes tomorrow I just need to know if I need to be awake or home lol
I'm in Southern California LA area so if anyone from that area or state got one and can chime in all the better, but any info will help thanks!

Mine from Moto required signature fyi

None of my previous Nexus required a signature. If you download the UPS app you can specify a place for them to leave the package if you are not at home.

My Nexus 5 didn't require a signature. It was delivered to my home in South Orange County. I guess I'll be finding out for sure tomorrow like you!

Special Instructions: The driver may not leave this package without your authorization.
So, No. i'll have to authorize them to leave it somewhere. But I won't.

I don't see that on mine but I suspect that if the tracking info doesn't specify signature it doesn't require it? I logged on to UPS My choice and told them to leave it by my door since its out of sight. Im hoping all will be well and they don't need signature id hate to miss it cause of that..lol

mebbe it's because I live in an apt. I dunno. I've left notes outside the door to leave in office or neighbor, 90% of the time, they won't do it. At least USPS will leave in the office.

nope, just an apartment.
I've had the 1 day early delivery before on the Nexus 5 last year as well with a 2-day shipping.

UPS usually doesn't leave any high value package outside the door. I remember my ps4 was taken back by UPS when i wasn't at home even when i left a note at the door to leave the package at the door. So it got delivered the next day on 2nd retry.

I will leave a note telling them to leave it anywhere but with my wife. She knows she won't see me for a while once it gets here. Lol

I really appreciate that now the LTE bands of the US and of Europe are supported.. no longer slow internet when traveling in Europe Good job! And so ordered it with early drop, looking forward to have it on Friday... hopefully then a TWRP is available.

Honestly, my guess is that 8GB RAM is overkill and that semi-aggressive RAM will be in place for the sake of battery optimization. 8GB is very future proof though, which is great.

Weren't you mdalexa or something like that before? I remember you from when the 3t first released. I think you were the first kernel released. I was the one that helped jcadduano with TWRP. Unfortunately, I won't be able to help with that until at least Friday nightn between work and other stuff. I hope someone else steps up.

yep, this is my older name, changed back to it. I have kernel source ready to go, but no ramdisk offsets or ramdisk to work with.
