Chromecast won't play queue with play music - Google Chromecast

My chromecast won't play the queue on google play music. Its not always the case but I often have to press the "next" button for the chromecast to restart. It kinda sucks cause I like to listen to music when cleaning the dishes and my hands are all wet so I don't like to touch the phone...

Is there a way to prevent music from pausing during navigation?

I was surprised that rather than attenuating music playback the One pauses music when Waze or Google Navy is announcing an upcoming turn.

Not sure on that one, it might be app specific. For instance, last time I was listening to Pandora and navigating, the phone simply turned down the volume on the music while the navigator was talking. In the HTC Music app, it muted the music but it kept playing(annoying, since I was listening to an audio book...) and in Google Play Music, it would pause it.
unremarked is correct. I use PowerAmp and theres an option to pause the music or play the notification along with the music and thats what i use. I prefer the way iOS handles it though. The music goes lower while the notification sound plays. But i haven't found a way to make it work that way.

So this morning I got into the car and continued to stream music to my device via Google Music. I needed to make an unplanned detour so I fired up Waze to calculate a quick route avoiding traffic. Much to my delight the music I was streaming attenuated when Waze spoke, just like it used to do on my iPhone. I was so jazzed and my kids were probably wondering why. So at the next light I switched to the HTC player and no dice. Same behavior as before, muting/pausing music whenever Waze spoke directions. Finally I decided to try Pandora (which I haven't been able to stream to my car in the week I've had the One) and not only did Pandora play through the car speakers, it too attenuated when Waze spoke. I haven't tried this with Google Nav.
So what's changed since yesterday? Well I booted into Safe Mode (per HTC rep's suggestion) to troubleshoot a bluetooth volume issue and that didn't do anything other than remove some of my folders on one of my home panels. That bluetooth volume issue is a separate issue and it was not resolved through Safe Booting the device. Also, it appears there was an update to Google Music so that may have resolved the music pausing issue. Either way, I'm not sure what I did or what happened to the device to fix this behavior but I'm very happy to experience this expected behavior between music (except for the HTC native player) and nav.

[Q] Google Now/Play Music shuffles song rather than playing correct song

I have Google Play Music All Access and a premium Slacker Radio Account.
This happens whether I default Google Now to Google Music or Slacker
When I request it to play a song using "Ok Google Now" it shuffles the artists album rather than playing the specific song. It does this in Google Play music as well as Slacker depending on which I set the Google now Default to.
Examples:
I say "Play Rolling the Deep" and it will launch Google Now and say "Playing Rolling in the Deep by Adele" then google music will launch and it will just shuffle her album rather than playing the song.
or
Same thing happened when I tested "Sympathy for the Devil" it just played a random Rolling Stones Song, even though google now said "Playing Sympathy for the Devil by The Rolling Stones"
Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is one of the reasons I wanted the touchless controls of this phone!
Moto support had me reboot into recovery and clear the cache. That fixed it.

Any Google Play Music Subscriber here? Do you feel Spotify is better?

Hey!
tl;dr: Do you feel that the Spotify "Genre Stations" song selection is better than Google Play Music "Radio Stations"?
I've cancelled my Spotify subscription and signed for the Play Music All access. I really like google and its products, also the Play Music app is well integrated within' Android, so it only made everything seamless and better!
I can manually find any music I wish, even local styles such as the brazilian Pagode or Forró, just like I could on Spotify, so that's not much of a problem. The thing is when I play the recommended songs/radio stations from Play Music... they all suck big time. Like, they don't get one single song right.
Also, Spotify had better local songs playlists (which I guess were selected by the brazilian Spotify team or something) and I could select a station based on a genre and enjoy at least one hour of awesome music selection, while on Play Music, I can only find playlists made by other people, which is pretty much a hit and miss, where some are pretty cool while others doesn't do it very well.
Spotify I could select a genre station, say Pop, and it would always play the BEST (at least for me). I discovered a lot of songs that way, many parties I've been and played these stations, people really enjoyed the songs, overall awesome experience
While on Google Play Music, I went through a full work day listening to those "radios" and I didn't enjoy a single music. At parties, people phase out my phone to play songs on theirs (sometimes on Spotify), so my experience on those "stations" are terrible.
Does anyone feel the same way? Am I missing something? I'm pressing the "like" button on the songs I like, but it still doesn't recommend me good songs, so I've been playing the very same playlist for a while -- which were the songs I've listened on Spotify, plus a few others I found on friend's Spotify playlists. I'm tempted to move on to Spotify, but I really like Google Play Music.

I've been a subscriber to both services, I'm currently only Subscribed with Google Play Music.
They both have pros and cons over eachother.
I preferred Spotify for:
-Social features
-Radios
-Likability. (It feels.. new, and smart, and updated.)
I prefer Google Music Overall:
-Google owns it
-It's getting better... fast
-IT"S SO MUCH BETTER WITH PERSONALLY UPLOADED MUSIC (Big reason I prefer Google Music)
-Google has started to integrate Songify "time of day" radios.
-I believe it's future is brighter than Spotify's with Google being behind it, and owning android. Makes more sense to build up my library there.
Both are great, much of it is personal preference!

Radios were awesome! Google is getting close to it with its own radio stations, but it isn't nowhere near polishes as Spotify.
Social features for me were irrelevant lol but yeah that's a good thing to have.

Gotta confess that I only left Spotify for Play Music because I like Google and it's a Google product.
I thought you could upload your own songs to Spotify?
Indeed future's better for Play Music with a Google team backing it up, but there are things that I don't know how long will it take to be implemented. Some just aren't Google dependant, such as userbase. I guess the most popular music are picked by... Well, an algorithm that detects which song is played more. Currently, the "top N" play list here sucks, with one or two good songs.
While, of course on Spotify, any play list would rock my socks off.
Did they add the time of day playlists? Gotta check that. I really miss the "Flashback Thursday" on Spotify and play lists like that.

Tasker in the car, stop and start "music" from different "music" apps

Tasker in the car, stop and start "music" from different "music" apps
I know the topic might be strange, but I didn't know what to name this thread.
I got a car with bluetooth, and when my phone is connected I want a lot of stuff to happen.
First, I want it to start playing on Spotify (and maybe start some "car app/launcher"). I've been experimenting a lot, and basically have task that Launches Spotify, light the screen up (otherwise I'm having problem with Spotify not starts on play command), and with Media Control Simulates Play. I also have some well timed wait's.
I also have another task that runs when I got a message, that will read the message for me. Since Spotify not will let the TTS spoken message to be heard for some reason, when using the same "media channel" to play the TTS, I also here got some well timed wait's and lowering in volume, and later a pause of the music, before a temp max rise of the media volume and the message being read. After the TTS voice is finished reading the message on the highest volume the volume is set as I want and a Play with "Media Control Simulates Play" runs.
NOW for my questions.
Sometimes I stops my Spotify for listen to a audio book or some podcasts or something else. I would like my task that stops Spotify (or at least let me here the message) and read the message also to work if I at that moment listens to a podcast.
The stop function isn't a problem for me on some apps (they that silens by default when the TTS voice starts), but for apps that needs the sound to first be stopped are problem for me.
I would like some help to have Tasker stop and start the stream for that app that was playing when the message arrived.
If I'm listen to Spotify my task works, but if I listen to podcast, it stops when the TTS speaks, but after, it will start Spotify since my task runs "Media Control Simulates Play" for Spotify.
I would like that Media Control Play (and stop) to be for that app that at the moment was using the media stream channel on the phone.
Is that something that is possible?

Media Next vs Skip (jump)

Here's what I'm trying to do:
Have an always-visible icon on my Android Wear watch which will skip to the next track if Google Play Music is currently playing or skip forward 10 seconds it Pocket Casts is playing.
I'm all set with the icon using AutoWear and I have profiles for NextTrack and SkipForward (using PocketCast intents). It works fine if I'm playing music - it skips to the next track. However if I'm playing a podcast (Pocket Cast) it stops playback and starts playing music through Play Music.
I can't figure out how to differentiate between which app (Play Music vs Pocket Cast) is currently in control. Now, the wheel controls in my car do this exactly - if I press up while playing a song it goes to the next song, but if I'm playing a podcast it shuffles forward 30 seconds.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!
Dave
