I don't know if it will work but if you can get ADB to work, you might try this command:
adb reboot [bootloader|recovery] - reboots the device, optionally into the bootloader or recovery program
adb reboot-bootloader - reboots the device into the bootloader
I'm sure of the syntac but you can try the various combinations. I really think you need to get those buttons fixed because you are really limited on what you can do without them.

You can try powering off the device connect usb then do
Code:
adb wait-for-device reboot recovery
Then power the phone on. With a little luck it will catch at the right place and land you in recovery. I doubt it will work but it's about as good as it gets without working volume keys. Good luck [emoji120]

Down vol rocker broke, can't enter nvflash/smartflash/recovery?

Great, i tried to flash Hellfire's ICS rom, and for some freakin' reason, the phone got stuck at the hellfire loading screen and won't boot.
The problem is, my down vol button broke quite some time ago, and i can't use the power+vol down in order to save my phone. any ideas?

If you're lucky then it boots up enough to load adb.
Attach the usb cable, boot, open cmd and try if you find a device with adb devices
If yes you can easily tell it to reboot to recovery with reboot recovery and flash a new ROM.
Edit: As Hellfire is an ICS ROM you might need to use my modded adb drivers: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1752074
From what i know smathflash needs VOL UP to be used.

I'm sorry, but i'm not really familiar on how ADB works..
Can you help me out? I'm not sure what am i supposed to do to tell it to reboot to recovery.
P.S. Well, i tried booting up my phone today and it's now stuck at the second LG logo (the one with a blue hue).
Man, if you really can't use adb why are you modding your phone?
I will supply you with adb when I come from work.

how do i do this if i can't get into the recovery, and my computer won't recognize my device?
thanks for the reply
The 4.2.2 isnt android HD 10.0 update does not support Sprint as of yet. They mention it in the thread. Not to mention the fact that it is mentioned when you go through the aroma installer and the fact that International is the only option in the aroma installer.
You may have totally bricked your ****.

It's almost impossible to brick your phone unless you have S-OFF which I doubt that you do. Don't panic (yet)!
This thread has just about everything you need to get it fix. You rooted your phone so you probably already have adb and HTC Drivers installed on your computer, if not then get them installed.
You'll need to get a copy of TWRP recovery too and place it in the ./platform-tools/ directory. Also place a copy of a ROM.zip of your choice in the same ./platform-tools/ directory.
Now let's try to reinstall the recovery:
1. If you phone is already powered off. Press & hold volume down + power button for a few seconds until you see a menu on the phone screen. Use volume down button to select Fastboot then press power button to select it. Connect phone to usb cable now.
2. On your computer, browse to ./platform-tools, press the Shift key and then right-click on that folder and select "Open command window here"
3. In the command window, type: fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.5.0.0-m7wls.img then hit Enter
4. Still in the same command window, type: fastboot reboot-bootloader then hit Enter. You'll now see the bootloader menu on the phone. Press power button to select Bootloader, then volume-down key to highlight Recovery and press power button again to boot back into Recovery. Your phone should now be in TWRP recovery and you can proceed to reflash a ROM if you sdcard did not get wiped. If your sdcard is empty, continue from Step 5 to sideload a ROM
5. In TWRP recovery, tap Advanced, tap ADB Sideload, the swipe enable it
6. Back in the command windows, type: adb sideload NameOfROM.zip then hit Enter. Wait a few minutes and reboot the phone when prompted. You should be back in business now.
If you need more help, feel free to PM me.
Cheers

Sprint hasn't released a kernel for 4.2.2 yet, so the newest android revolution won't work on our phones. I highly recommend downloading and using the "Sprint RUU" that's linked in the android development forum, and that will bring everything back to the beginning for you. From there you can re unlock and root, and the flash ViperRom or whatever... and trust me, you're phone isn't bricked.

Like I said, you have to run the RUU. You don't need to be able to put anything on your device, you download RUU to your computer, plug in your phone, and use Hasoons all in one kit to relock your phone, then run the RUU. After that it will be like factory new and you can reunlock and add whatever rom you want. I had an identical problem, this was the only fix for me.

[Q] Format too much. Android gone and sdcard empty

Hi,
I did a stupid thing today I wiped a lot of things in recovery. Now Android is gone and my sd card is empty.
I'm using ClockworkMod Touch Recovery v6.0.3.1 for recovery.
Phone was unlocked.
CID: O2___102
fastboot is working but adb isn't. Probably because i have no android and can't check usb debugging mode.
Now i think the only way is to use an RUU. I relocked the phone and tried the following RUU's:
RUU_M7_UL_JB_50_HTC_Europe_1.28.401.7_Radio_4A.13.3231.27_10.31.1131.05_release_310878_signed
RUU_M7_UL_JB_50_BrightstarUS_WWE_1.29.1540.16.exe
It gives me a customer error. Probably because it's an O2 phone. I didn't find an O2 RUU. What can i do?

Can you get into recovery though? Just sideload rom through USB OTG
1) no panic
2) can you access recovery? if no flash recovery again in fastboot -> turn phone off -> boot into recovery
3) in recovery you should be able to use adb comands (push rom to sd-card)
4) flash rom

I have to flash recovery again. Will CWM do? Where do i have to go in CWM to use adb?
Do i have to use this command? Adb push file.zip /sdcard
I can't shutdown the phone now so i have to wait till battery is empty. I can press power as long as i want but it hangs at boot now.

When you say it hangs at boot, do you mean it reboots then hangs at boot, or it just won't shut down? I would try plugging in to usb and then unplugging a couple of times (connecting to your pc), then try rebooting by holding power button. As soon as it shuts down, hold volume down and power back on to get to recovery.
Do you have a usb otg cable?

It hangs at white screen: htc quietly brillant screen. No reboots. Normally it shutdown if you hold power for 10 seconds but not right now.
Don't know about the cable. I have got the original micro-USB to USB cable. I use this cable also for fastboot

OK, well if you don't have USB OTG, do what Hansbert says.
You could use the all in one toolkit found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2183942
Reinstall HTC drivers, flash clockwork mod recovery (if you're sure it's not there) and then you could use the "ADB sideload a ROM" found in extras.
Edit: he_stheone will sort you out....he fixes everything :highfive:

I did relock because i wanted to try stock recovery RUU. RUU failed and recovery didn't work anymore.
Now i unlocked bootloader again, and flashed ClockworkMod recovery again.
Try holding phone under bright light while holding power helped me! Thank you redbull123.
I'm now in CWM. Hope adb will work too.
*edit*
adb sideload found. adb devices command also works now. i'm going to try the adb sideload rom.zip command now
adb sideload rom.zip command works! I tried a custom rom 2 times but CWM freezes a couple of times so i had to start over. The third time it says rom is succesfully flashed
I can confirm now after reboot it works. Thank you all so much for your quick replies.
Nice to hear that

What I'm gonna say is ridiculous! BUT IF YOU DIDN'T **** UP YOUR BOOTLOADER you should be able to boot into the bootloader by performing these steps:
First: Press the power and volume up/down button for about two minutes... your phone should respond with vibrate/flashing...
Secondly: Hold your phone under a bright light and press the powerbutton for a minute or so... then try different combinations with the hardwarebutton until it boots into the bootloader.
From bootloader you can perform the following steps to get a OS working on your phone:
This is a quote by me, someone had almost the same problem like you:
Okay, first here you have the correct adb and fastboot files, I uploaded them quickliy for you, I think this way they should work properly:
http://uploaded.net/file/ykwya517
Next thing are these HTC Drivers, in this post are a few of them: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2089508 and on my computer there are the 4.3.0.001 drivers, so I'd recommand downloading those(Credits go to @mdmower):
http://www.mediafire.com/download/n5...+4.3.0.001.exe
Now shut down your phone and boot in into the bootloader with pressing the power button and the volume down button. Then select fastboot and enter this menu. Now if the drivers are installed correctly there should be written FASTBOOT USB. I think you said you are unlocked... so the following command should run just fine. Open a command prompt and navigate to the folder where adb and fastboot are placed. In this folder you copy your custom recovery(TWRP) and you flash it with this command:
Code:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery [recoveryname].img
And DON'T worry about adb in the bootloader! ADB doesn't work with the bootloader. Now you boot into your recovery by chosing Recovery somewhere in your bootloader. If you are in the bootloader you somehow need to push the ROM to your HTC One... This should work with this command...
Code:
adb push "C:\FolderWhereRomIsStored\rom.zip" "/data/media/0/rom.zip"
Click to collapse
And if this doesn't copy it correctly simply place your zip on your computer to a folder that is empty and push this folder to your HTC One with:
Code:
adb push "C:\FolderWhereRomIsStored" "/data/media/0"
Click to collapse
Now you are good to go, simply flash the zip form TWRP. I think you know how this works Simply go to install and then chose the zip and flash it.
If you now want to s off... then ask me again. I'll give you an advice

Hey there. It's quite some time ago since I last "played around" with my HTC One M7 but I think I am still able to help you solve your problem.
Firsr a few questions:
> What OS are you using for adb? Win7/8/10?
> Do you have an USB OTG cable? (would make fixing very easy. You just copy the OS zip onto an USB stick and then plug it into your Cellphone using an OTG cable. Then flashing can be done without any problems)
If you've already solved your problem, notify my anyways

sorry i was at work but OS is windows 7 home premium
maybe i should look into the OTG cable.
i get a message saying "cannot read rom.zip" when trying to use command line to push as per the thousands of tutorials online lol.
when i plug in the phone to computer and turn phone on (which is on the HTC splash screen since no OS) then a popup on computer says installing device driver software.
Android Phone X Device Unplugged
USB Composite Device Ready to use
HTC MTP Device X Failed
USB storage devie Ready to use
My HTC Ready to use
HTC android USB Device Ready to use
my cable is really wobbly and none ive tried lately seem to want to fit in the slot snug so HTC MTP Device installed again and now says "Ready to Use also, then cycled the install again and settled on FAILED so only Android Phone has an X for device unplugged since no OS to turn on and HTC MTP has an X for Fail. this is where ill enter fastboot mode or recovery to try push/flash my copy of cm14 and gapps to the device.
i have cmd window open with rom and gapps and an updated version of twrp in adb and fastboot folder.
i entered fastboot mode and pushed recovery through then as per the tutorial i then entered recovery which flashed properly with the new version. then i went to adb sideload and all commands worked like adb kill-sever and adb usb also adb devices came with text saying list of attached devices which theyre is none.
then adb sideload rom.zip came back with:
error: device not found

Hel! HTC One M7 stuck in TWRP!

Hi!
I seem to have flashed the wrong TWRP version... I was supposed to flash the M7 Recovery, but I have flashed the M7wls recovery. :silly:
Now... I am stuck in recovery. Touch does not work. I've tried holding down the power button for several minutes but nothing happens :crying:
Help!

have you tried to hold power and volume down for a while? This should hard reboot your phone to the bootloader.

Does adb work with the recovery? adb reboot-bootloader
If you found my posts helpful, no need to say thanks. There's a button for that

I'm having some problems here... I'm trying to help a friend flash Android 5.0 GPE on his HTC One M7. We are having some problems here.
The device is unlocked, S-ON. But we managed to wipe the whole device, so now there is no OS on it.
I guess I have to have S-OFF in order to flash a new rom.
How do we do this?
I've been trying to find a solution to our problem, but I can't seem to find it!
Do you mind helping us out here?
Device: HTC One M7_UL
HBOOT-1.57.0000
S-ON

You don't need to s-off and you can't without a functioning Rom anyway
You need to push a Rom to the phone using adb in recovery. Put your Rom in your fastboot folder on your pc and rename it something easy to type like "rom.zip"
Now with the phone on the twrp home screen and connected with usb in the command window type
Code:
adb push rom.zip /sdcard
The command window will appear unresponsive until the push completes (several minutes) when it's done install the Rom with twrp recovery.

Once again your welcome, by the way it's normal to see unable to mount cache after flashing a new recovery. Especially if you fastboot erase cache :good:
