Hi guys,
Has anyone tried or tested ADVENT Vega Tegra Note 7 nvflash to recover the bootloader (hard-brick)?
http://adventcomputers.co.uk/product-download-select/296
Nvidia Tegra Note 7's users reported that it worked for them.

No, not yet and I hesitate, because anything can happen when flashing stuff which is meant to be for a different device.
Hi. The man has already restored several tablets with the help of nvflash, waiting for testers with bricks tablets

Am planning to buy a second hand, unmodded OB thats one month old for just INR 10k from my friend.
I presently own a Moto defy. As moto fones come with a locked bootloader therefore they are IMPOSSIBLE to be bricked. We use RSDLite (flashing tool) to flash the stock roms in .sbf format.(system binary files)
So if my OB gets into bootloop or stuck at some logo, will i be able to revert back to stock ROM and start the modding process afresh ?
Are there any cases where the OB has been completely bricked ?
One more thing, as you guys have unlocked bootloaders, so have you ported WP7 or Ubuntu into your OBs ?
Also what is the upper limit of safe overclocking for this fone ? Is 1.4 Ghz stable ?

Have you read this and this? If the problem comes from Operating System, it can be recover. But if it has a kind of hardware problem, then it can't be recover...
And AFAIK, OB can only handle 1.2GHz overclock, above that I don't know..

Thanks for the reply mate.
What kind of hardware problem may arise during the modding process?
Does the phone battery charge when stuck at lg logo or in bootloops ?

well...none of us have hard bricked our black. there is a .kdz flashing method if you brick it.
byw, i will NOT suggest you getting a black. the DEFY is one of the best cells when it comes to custom ROMs. and of the custom ROMs...we have 2,umm..uhh...err...no 3 custom ROMs. and that's all.
and of OC...1.2 is stable and not beyond that in most cases.
hope i helped
Thanks, u sure helped a lot.
And the fone has just 3 custom roms ? :wall:
I was interested cuz i was getting it at half price.
Anyways i got bored of my defy already ... so was planning to lay my hands on a new victim
I wud rather start saving for HD2 now... that is one hell of awesomeness
Thanks to all who posted here.
Regards.

Well as far I'm flashing my phone for development, not just once, I don't know how many times, at least almost hundreds times I'm not getting any hardware failure. But considering overclocking, then it's possible to burning the CPU (or another component) if it's not handle well, might comes from heating devices.. Another hardware failure perhaps comes from the factory, bad product or something..

Well I don't know about that (battery charge), but for sure it's going to heating when it stuck at bootloop..

HI guys,
First of all great to be part of this community. This is my first Android phone after being an IOS user since the original iphone. I just like change so decided to jump on the android wagon. i gotta say so far i love it i have HC on the 7plus tab and my note is on GB 2.3.6 xxla4a and i think its a saudi phone n700jpla1 kernel. Now here's the deal the note is new i didnt change anything so not rooted its unloccked though, now i want to install stock ics or the galaxy sIII rom.
Before you start bashing, i read a lot but it is so confusing i don't wanna mess up the phone. I just want the easiest way to flash stock stable ics build and root it. the IOS was very limited you only had to jailbreak and there was a site with all tutorials to do it. With android there are so many possibilities from what i read (custom roms and dif kernels) yet it's not all in one place.
So to sum it up if a kind soul can help me out i'll be very grateful.
Thanks
Please note thing first - You cannot flash a Galaxy SIII Rom on to the Note. You cannot flash ROMs of any other devices on the Galaxy Note. (You can try but that kind of an exercise would brick your phone instantly). Different phones have different ROM structures which are not interchangeable. In fact you have to ensure that you only flash ROMs for your particular model which is GT-N7000.
and if you want stock ICS better to wait for stable version
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1646088
The first post should help you get clarity on how to install ICS (specifically the LPY version) and root it.
BTW it would be advisable to stay with GB for now. There is a bug with the all ICS versions so far that might cause a fully bricked phone. Read about it in the stickied posts in the development section.
Thanks for the replies you just confirmed what i was afraid. i'll just stick to GB for now until the update rolls out on my phone evetnough i'm not sure i will get one soon. lastly i'm getting the s3 when it comes out.Going all in with Samsung
Rumours:Android 5 jellybean expected later this year. will G.Note be updated on this? Will this solve eMMC bug?
1) Android 4.1, not 5.0. Jellybean is 4.1.
2) Unlikely except for the usual community effort.
3) The fault (as far as I am aware) is a eMMC firmware fault and can be WORKED AROUND with patched kernels but not fixed. So no, its unlikely JB if we get it will make a difference (again, except for the community effort).
Yes as said Jellybean is Android 4.1 not 5.0! As far there has been no official news about the devices receiving this update. The only thing we know is that the nexus 7 tablet will be releasing with this and Galaxy Nexus will be the first phone to get this update. However after seeing that JB will support the hardware on the Nexus it is most likely that the Note will get the update as well. As far as eMMC bug issue, they cant fix the chips that have the issue but they can include a patch in the firmware update that prevents the eMMC chip from being erased!
As endingcolt said, Nexus is officially getting 4.1 and Note is basically the same hardware...so i don't see a reason not to get an update.
All i care about, anyway, is CM10 support - hope they won't abandon Note.

Hardware is the same. Only problem I see is the S-Pen enhancements to be made to JellyBean. Not sure how long Samsung takes to do that, if at all they think of doing it.
I read the touchpad shares the same exact chip set as the exhilarate. Will I be able to port say, cm9? I'm new to development and porting so any details and help would be appreciated and there is currently no dedicated form for this phone, yet

It sounds like you intend to port a Touchpad ROM to this phone? I wouldn't suggest doing that, as there are many phones that have the same chipset as the Touchpad, such as the T989. However, the thing with porting is that you are always using the Kernel from YOUR device, not the one you are porting from. This limitation means that you can only port from an existing level of development. Take for example, if you are currently on 2.3.3, you will be limited to porting CM7 ROM's.
I would not suggest flashing a Kernel from another device on your phone unless you are 100% sure it will work. Even with the same chipset, I think some things in the Kernel are executed differently in different devices.
Let me use the Touchpad as an example. I consider it a great device for playing around with because you have Moboot as a protective layer to ensure you do not brick anything. You can flash whatever Kernel you like and it should not brick, but will certainly not work! I flashed a Kernel from my T989 on to it, and all you get is a black screen when trying to boot. Same chipset, different Kernel execution... see my point?
If you were to do that with your phone you would mess up your boot partition and get a hard brick!
Edit: I seen that you found the Forum in Android General about pushing CWM to the phone, that's a good stepping stone!
If you wanted to be brave, I would try pushing CWM from the Blaze 4G, and then Flash one of those ROM's with your Kernel and Radio.
Very informative thanks man!

Trying to install Lineage OS on my Note 4 to help it run better and finally make it usable again. Tried looking different tutorials online, then YouTube, and here though I keep running into different issues when going through the many processes. So I've just decided to create a thread for it since it's my first time messing with this sort of stuff.
