Hey all
I've had my vivid for a while, I'm running CM10 with sultan kernel (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=39590429). The other day I rebooted my phone and it took longer to boot than usual, it randomly reset itself and I lost everything (luckily I had a backup ). for some reason the kernel had downgraded itself, went from beta 14 to beta 12. I restored it from my backup but then it kept resetting itself, all the while I stayed on beta 12. Now I've decided to start a fresh, reinstalled CM10 to find that its not installing google play, another weird thing is that my kernel wont change, it stays as beta 12 even after following the instructions fully to upgrade. I need the newer kernel because it has some fixes I need. Also I need ideas as to why google play isn't installing. Any help/ideas are appreciated
Thanks in advance

Which version of TWRP ?
latest i believe
The disappearing apps is because of a problem with sultan kernel... it seems to corrupt the file system if you reboot at a certain time... I have no idea what causes it to corrupt
The play store problem is from you doing a full wipe without installing GAPPS...

Really? I didn't think CM10 needed gapps. I just tried a standalone install of play store 4.0.26 and it installed, but it just crashes when I try open it
That's cause you need other files from GAPPS for it to work
And the play store MUST be a system app
Sent from my Vivid 4G using Tapatalk 2
ok thanks, will try that
Trust rignfool he knows what he's talking about lol. And yes you do need gapps for cm10. The only problem with cm10 that I have is very poor in call volume. Since I'm speaking of it. @ rignfool do you know a fix for that? (very low in call volume)

I've been an omnirom users for the good 6 month, and everything worked as expected with few glitches here and there however after version was bumped to 4.4.4 camera has been very unstable and keep crashing with "camera can't connect" and only reboot works this has been most inconvenientl... Tried to reflash, wipe, do the clean install tried different kernels... Same thing... Today phone rebooted automatically and got stuck on "Android is starting apps" without any success, tried to dirty reflash didn't help, had to do the Clean one...
Anyone else experiencing similar issues, any fix available?
Thanks to developers for the fantastic job they doi

I am experiencing issues with the camera as well. I am on 4.4.4-20140709-i777-nightly.zip and on first reboot, the camera was not taking pictures. When switching from photo to video, the resolution drops drastically. It took several restarts and now I can say it's taking pictures, but taking videos freezes the app, and other 3rd party video apps.
Try flashing the omnirom fix from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2505973

It can be a bit hit and miss, sadly. I use gapps provided by paranoid android, and the latest boeffla kernel (test branch).
How i usually install is this:
Rom
Gapps
Reboot and get set up
Back to recovery
Install kernel
Flash camera fix
And for good measure, wipe dalvik and cache.
Like i said though, it isnt a guaranteed fix u.u you can blame proprietary licences for that. Making lives difficult.

TWRP was already installed, I rooted, flashed Omni, flashed one modem, wifi didnt work, flashed another, that sorted it, flashed GAPPS, no camera, wiped everything, tried again, not working, wiped again, installed camera fix, not working, wiped again, not working, installed again, wiped again, etc, etc. Still not working
Edit : was on 2014-07-26, updated to 2014-07-28 and all working !!
Hello,
I have same problem with omni-4.4.4-20140730-i9300-NIGHTLY.zip, and other, older 4.4.3 versions !
I also have this problem on 4.4.4-20142728-i9305-nightly, and sometimes i take one photo then the camera app freezes. Tried the fix at http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/themes-apps/17-fixed-camera-app-lib-cm-aosp-roms-t2505973 i like the camera app much more from the fix fyi, this is making me considering changing rom.
And one other problem i have with this rom is that, every option that is enabled in the rom as default i have to disable it and the enable it again to make it work.
I have not changed the kernel or any other tweaks or anything, just flashed rom with a clean flash
I am using a x1080 rooted and unlocked on the stock software. I have tried to install CM11, PA, and other custom roms (all are the unified builds that should work with my device). On all of these roms I am unable to connect to WiFi and Google Play says 'No Connection' 'Refresh'. I have tried re-installing and even a RSD factory reset with no change in results. Everything works perfectly on the stock software. Any Ideas?
Thanks!

I suggest posting this in the droid ultra forum. That's where it belongs.
Although the x is very similar to the maxx, ultra, and mini, there are differences.
Is your WiFi Calling staying connected after updating to 10n? Mine was working fine on 10h, but on 10n it disconnects after 5-10 minutes with a REG99: Unable to connect error and won't reconnect until I reboot the phone.
I did all the troubleshooting steps with T-Force: factory reset, got a new SIM card, got an update sent to the SIM card twice, factory reset again, and no dice.
Is anyone else experiencing this on 10n? I'm on stock rooted 10n (odex).
EDIT: It's XPosed. As long as the XPosed Framework is installed (even with no modules), WiFi Calling is completely broken.
I was getting the same error on 10N. I called and was transferred to Tech Support. They updated my E-911 info and was back up in running in less than 5 minutes

Not the case for me and others are trickling in with the same issue
So I rooted my phone a little more than a week ago and then flashed MicroMod777's rooted stock 10n ROM a few days later. Up until this point, WiFi calling was working. I then flashed the Xposed framework v72, downloaded some modules, and installed them. I realized that WiFi calling was no longer available and would give me the classic REG99 error, unable to connect. Another user on MicroMod777's 10n stock ROM thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmo...m-g4-h811-10n-stock-rooted-rom-t3188858/page9) had the same problem, though another user responded that Wifi calling was working fine with the 10 ROM and Xposed v72.
I uninstalled Xposed and I could immediately access WiFi calling, so it seems that Xposed is conflicting with the 10n stock ROM's WiFi calling. Same results with v73. Users who are getting WiFi calling to work on Xposed, did you get the official 10n update OTA or flash a rooted ROM? And what version of Xposed are you running?

I was having the issue on a totally stock, factory-reset phone with nothing installed.
T-Force opened a ticket with network engineering, supposed to be resolved by tomorrow.

Interesting.... I wonder why. I have Xposed installed on my Note 4 also and WiFi Calling works perfectly fine there. Might be a specific module causing it.
Come to think of it, when I factory-reset the phone, Xposed was still installed into the system partition, since it's not an app, but a modification to system files.
I will have to re-test after explicitly uninstalling Xposed. It would be a total bummer if Xposed is the problem. And if it is, I hope it's just a specific module that I can disable. I'd hate to lose YouTube AdAway and a few others.

Looks like we need to try and get some logs for rovo and hopefully he can easily fix it...
Scrap that! Download SELinux mode changer and change to permissive...instantly popped up and stayed connected! Great news

Of course I granted root and pressed Permissive, I know what SELinux is. I also unticked that checkbox and rebooted like 5 times. It either never connects or connects and disconnects after 2-3 minutes.
I got this phone for my son last year. It was a PRIME phone that I converted to OEM, rooted, and installed TWRP. It's currently running 6.0 v12.
Unbeknownst to me, he lost his t-mobile data. Everything else works fine. SMS, Wifi, voice calls, etc. I checked the APN with the Internet and with T-Mobile support and everything should be good. They wanted to change the APN type to Internet+MMS, but that wasn't an option on this rom.
I don't know what else to try other than a factory reset. Does anyone have any ideas?
Since I have TWRP, I could flash an upgraded rom while I;m at it. Which one should I do?
Well, I got no responses so I gave it a go on my own.
I flashed the v17 of the OEM and wiped the cache. Still didn't get data. Did a factory reset and got data working. Flashed SuperSU and got root back.
