A month ago, SamMobile gave you folks an exclusive preview at an alpha build of Android Lollipop running on a Galaxy S5, but as Samsung was still working on making TouchWiz compatible with Google’s new design guidelines, a lot of inconsistencies could be seen throughout the user interface. Nevertheless, thanks to our elite friends, we have scored a new internal Android Lollipop firmware for the Galaxy S5, which is leaps and bounds better than the build we previewed before, so let’s see what’s new.
First and foremost, Samsung has upgraded its Android Lollipop base from LRW58J to LRX02E. Now, even though the Korean giant is using an updated source code, the build is still missing the Lollipop branding, which indicates that it’s not using the most recent code from Google. However, the new LRX02E build does change the Android version from ‘L’ to ‘5.0’ and also brings in the new Android Bird game as an easter egg, but instead of using lollipops as blockades, the current build uses black and yellow striped rectangles — this was probably a security measure taken by Google to prevent the Lollipop branding from getting leaked before the official announcement.
Samsung’s latest Lollipop build brings in a plethora of changes, mostly to the user interface, and at the same time adds a few new features as well.
List of changes in the new Lollipop build compared to the old one:
• New Note 4 fingerprint lock screen
• New system-wide font — similar to the original one, but a tad thinner.
• New animations, much smoother than before — there’s a screen off animation present as well.
• Google Search bar in recents menu
• Brightness slider in notification centre has a new yellow colour — while changing the brightness, the notification centre disappears and allows the user to view the content beneath it.
• Removed “Interruptions” from Sound settings
• Gallery: Media can be sorted using new filters including Pets, Events, Scenery, Documents, Food, Vehicles and Flowers.
• Music: Improved UI
• Clock: Navigation bar icons are now accompanied by text
• Calculator: Removed square grids which surrounded the numbers and symbols
• Contacts: New search box
• Stock Material Design inspired applications receive colored status bar
• Android Lollipop theme’s core green elements replaced with Samsung’s blue colour
• Settings: Improved UI, new icon colours
• New UI for setting wallpaper from home screen
• Better spacing between options in power off dialog
If we compare the latest Lollipop build with the one we previewed earlier, it’s a night and day difference. We are really amazed by the amount of progress Samsung’s software engineers have made in such a short time. Now, we know that all the Samsung fans out there want this build badly, but we can’t leak it just yet simply because it’s still in an early stage, and is nowhere near a daily driver. We can’t put our readers’ devices at risk.

apart of the ugly colours they ruin the user's experience with those humongous icons and fonts. stock dpi shouldn't be 480 but around 290-340. in this range the whole ui looks much better

Yeah, I hate how Samsung has dumbed down the whole interface, it just makes it look ugly. Not even sleek anymore.

Cm 12 comes before tw 5.0, so dont need use tw
Is it common sense now that samfirmware/sammobile is samsung's official street team?
Well it should be, now that I've said it. Because they obviously are.
Anyway ROM looks nice I hope they do a good job.:good:

I did like TW on the S4. Man, chill out. I'm just trying to have a conversation here. No need to get upset. Its only my opinion on the UI, if you like it, its all good man. I was thinking I know how to flash a ROM so I have no problem changing to CyanogenMod. I was only saying I would have stuck with TW if it was nicer (in my opinion).
Wow, this community is a lot more hostile than I remembered.

It will be interesting to see how such a light, predominately white, user interface will impact battery life on the S5 with an SAMOLED screen. It would definitely help the pink and purple ghosting that happenings on black backgrounds and low brightness but maybe at the expense of a significant reduction in screen on time per charger cycle. Personally I'm hoping for a return to a dark theme with stock but if the new Nexus 6 also uses AMOLED technology then maybe the impact would be less than expected.
It's baffling how badly Samsung dropped the ball on this one. Android 5.0 could be their opportunity to actually make TW look a lot better with material design, but instead it ended up looking horrendous as always.
I wonder if a S5 GPE is going to come out so we can get GPE roms? Otherwise CM12 it is I suppose.

So what's the point in complaining about TouchWiz's different looks? Samsung isn't in a position that allows it to make major changes to its interface and/or naming in every release like HTC does. We're talking about millions of people using their devices and they expect their phone to behave the same.

I love the preview, looks awesome. So much so that it made me want an S5 again so I just bought one. Excited for android L!
Does anyone know whether they'll implment a feature similar to the Google dialer with built-in search?

I prefered the LazyTube tile with the youtube colors rather than the theme color. Too many developers do that, it get boring having a whole main page made of the same color.
As for features, I just love the app.

Now don't you dare to change that tile again! Honestly, it's great. It's just that small area around the word "tube" that adepts the style color. It fits perfectly into the homescreen. I like it exactly the way it is.

Yeh, we are really quite happy with how the tile is now and at the end of the day it's nearly impossible to please everyone but we'll continue doing our best.
That's odd. The tile icon on my copy (v 2.2) doesn't change at all. It looks exactly like the icon in the OP. Maybe I need to uninstall/reinstall?
[Edit] Never mind. I just figured out that the complaint was about the Lazy Tube icon, not the free version.
I need to say that I like your app so much. And I am also in the country which cannot buy the app. But if I can in near future, I will buy it for sure.

If you make a theme scrolling down Wormy's body please make that just an add-in skin. That would be Ugly IMO. Sorry.
I have a Question about the Lazylist. You say it's customizeable but how? Also can I make a suggestion? How about a way to make playlist on Youtube(Desktop) that can be imported to your fine App?
Hi,
Is there something you could do to improve the Favorites please?
Certain videos do not appear in the said list. The mobile phone restriction shall not apply to smartphones.
HTC YouTube and SuperTube apps give me access to these videos.

Hi, we will constantly be looking to improve our brand image so yes the logo will no doubt change over time. We are currently focusing on some new and exciting functionality so it may be a little bit before we have the time to address the logo but we'll definitely consider it.

Yeh, we've had a very mixed reaction to our beloved lazy worm and it seems like it's very much love/hate. I think for the mean time we'll probably focus on providing an amazing experience rather than skinning the app.
The content displayed within the Lazylist can be selected from within the 'Lazylist' settings screen. So it will populate video content from your preferred feeds and mash them into one list.
We will also definitely consider playlist support for future updates.

These videos are indicated on the website as "cannot be played on mobile phones".
But in my opinion we are not concerned, they are talking about formats that shall not be played on basic phones. Not smartphones. If SuperTube can play them LazyTube shall play them too, seriously. You are limiting your app too much.
Regarding the current LazyTube logo, I shall admit that I do not like it too much. I really did not like the Worm, but the new one is a bit boring. Especially the name "LazyTube" is not very positive. Hard to like somehing that is "Lazy"
Why not a real Metro icon, I mean totally the color of the theme, and just the name in transparency? Anyway, I am sure we can do better.
I am a terrible designer, but why not this spirit (just an humble suggestion):
Love the app
I have been using this app since I got my Focus over a month ago. I love it and am waiting anxiously on what new features are in the works. Any hints

Our name and brand is not something that we can change at this stage, admittedly perhaps we went a little too far with the 'light hearted' approach but we wanted to have a little fun with it.
We are a two geeks who like to work through the night and often find ourselves sleeping in so 'lazyworm apps' was kind of a way of making fun of ourselves.
We were hoping people would not take the "lazy" too seriously and see it for what it is, a light hearted way of distinguishing our brand from the rest.
We have had mixed reactions to it and so far people either love it or hate it... so at least we are not 'mediocre'
Finally, the icon has been a really tough one as nearly every revision has a similar reaction to that of our brand. Either love or hate, we will no doubt work very hard to improve our brand but as I mentioned we will be focusing on streamlining the app and adding in new features at this stage.

The background:
End of 2009, my personal smartphone era took off with one of the greatest devices I ever owned: I bought an HTC HD2,
which is known as the device which can be used with more OS platforms than any other (so far).
Sense 2.5 got even better when CHT (Cookiemonster´s Home Tab) came as an extension, and I started to theme the clock option.
After my HD2 fell to a stone floor and the screen broke into gazillions of tiny little pieces,
I had to move on, and after having been able to make extensive tests, I went for Android.
I actually don´t miss anything to set up my device to my taste - except for the clocks.
There are quite a few available in the web/market, but many of them come without a hand for the seconds,
not to mention missing display of the date and more.
The first step is made, I looked for a solution which is not eating too much battery,
and can be themed easily by an amateur like me. I again went for my favourite clocks from Lüm-Tec,
and with their official permission, their great clock design is now available for Android,
through using a special launcher called "Crazy Home" and its clock widget function!
Crazy Home actually reminds me strongly on CHT from its functionality (multiple home screens, easy to set up),
the free version includes some advertising. No big issue for me, and you can get the paid version without the advertising if that bothers you.
No advertising for that product from my side though, it´s just the (maybe temporary?) solution to get my clocks running on my phone.
The clocks have been tested on HTC Sensation and Samsung Galaxy S II, both of them running Android 2.3.4, and no issues discovered so far.

I just discovered some little pixels which are not so well done by myself... will do an update soon.
And, I am working on the Combat B-Series port now. And wondering if I should port

The fun part for me is still the fact that Crazy Home offers different home screens, like CHT... which allows fast switching between different layouts.

Is there any chance of an option to choose between quartz or mechanical movement for the seconds hand (ie jerky vs smooth); is this feasible at all?

Hi Ben,
I guess it *would* be possible... but that will need some programming.
The current solution is fine for now, as it is extremely battery friendly.
I hope sooner or later, there will be a solution for different movement behavior, show date etc.
Maybe Crazydude will jump in, I wrote an email asking about this kind of stuff...

Ok guys,
I've just installed the DooMLord's leaked 4.3 rom, downloaded here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2603473
My first impression so far:
1) WiFi signal seems very improved
2) Smoothness... no lags at all... and in general the device is very reactive, for example when I switch on and off the display.. that's great!
3) The Honami interface is very enjoyable (for the first time I don't feel the need to install another launcher)
4) Status and nav bars are transparent, semi-transparent, non-transparent depending on the situation... I like this feature very much :victory:
5) Stamina mode and almost all other staff of 2013 flagship devices, are present now
What's yours? Any bugs?

I haven't got the chance to test yet, but my NFC is active and no problems here.
Are you sure that before flashing, your last rom was based on .145?

On the lock screen, if you swipe from the left you can add some preinstalled widgets (calendar, email, gmail, google now, google+) and some widget of your apps from google play (if they work also with lock screen)
If you swipe from the right, you always go to the camera app

Ok guys,
I've just installed the DooMLord's leaked 4.3 rom, downloaded here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2603473
And for themes are there any themes that give the phone a darker feel with grayish black backgrounds unlike the photos that we've seen already from this leaked Rom with the white backgrounds in the settings. ?

in my opinion, i hope the final released version will be more optimized.
sure, because of jellybean 4.3 the firmware feels more smooth.
i have problem with wifi signal sometimes (same or more worst than my 4.1.2jb) wifi already sometimes disconnect completely :/
at least for me i not see much wifi signal improvement...
i really hope this will be improved in final 4.3
+ sony media apps are nice, love the sound of walkman and clearaudio
+ love the dialer xD
+ sony lockscreen
+ all in all more smooth than 4.1, sure
+ love the appdrawer
- the light background is ugly -i prefer it light- but not that type of background, you can clearly see a more white round section (like a spotlight at one point of the background :/ good we will be able to theme that somehow
- the Ui feels like not completed yet, why sony not made light themed popup/dialog windows everywhere? i not get it (half light, half dark themed, thats what i would call it)
for example, why no light themed note app, but on the other hand the soundpicker is light themed?...sure its just aesthetic thing, but....it hurts my eyes
- no quicktoggle longpress function

Agreed the white background without any contrast hurts my eyes this might work better on an IPS display but not on my Xperia T and if we can't fix that with an applied theme then I might not even update .

Haha I feel bad for you buddy. When buying an android, always consider the amount of development involved. And remember that mainstream devices get the most attention simply because there are more users - like all Samsung flagships.
In other news.. after reading the reviews,, i feel like audio quality is the only thing good about this release. Hmm..

Before i bought my TX i known that TX is rare... T/TL and V the popular ones but TX its just for Europe or for what so... i forgot exactly...
Im not angry at all, just said a bit.... all i can to do is wait because the "Time" is answer for all my question!!!
How about notifications on lock screen? (Missed calls, messages and so on) example i had these on Xperia V with Android 4.0.4 ICS, and it was on my xperia mini pro (GB 2.3)

Yeah I say it's time to bring those back it's nice when they add features but what's the point of taking others away in the process .
Sent from Shane's Xperia T LT30a
you will get that notifications with dashclock, since 4.2jb. thats one big point, why its so nice that we get above 4.1.2
Just ran the leak for almost a full day!, now switching back to Omni.
here is what i think
1.Sound quality when playing music is great. a major and welcome improvement
2.UI is much smoother now with little lag which slightly increases after installing apps and snycing
3.Camera UI is quite impressive, though the burst shot really takes its time between shots
4. App Drawer ......Meh!!!, i dont like how the space on the top and bottom part of the screen is wasted, i prefer apps taking up more space on the drawer like in KitKat
5.Finally, Battery life...not so good, it drains faster than stock 4.1.2.
since its not the final thing, i wont stress that much, just hope the final build is better and addresses the issues.

This thread is for discussion and feedback on my LG Themes, and I'd appreciate some feedback and any potential bugs I may have missed(There shouldn't be any). If you are interested head over to my Google Plus or my Twitter or if you prefer Facebook
I am open to input, future requests, bugs, etc. I plan to make more themes, you can get an idea of the other stuff I've done on the V20 so far.
Please do not post links to the playstore here as its against XDA rules and in order to remain compliant I have no posted links here to the play store. You can search for me in the play store or visit one of my social media sites. Make sure you get the G6/V30 version as the G5/V20 themes will not work on our phones!

Just installed the T-MOgenta theme and applied it, but I'm not seeing the results as shown above. I wasn't using a theme before, but applied the default one again to be sure. The wallpaper changes, as does some other areas, but to an orange hue instead of magenta.
I did change my DPI to 500 using the ADB shell command. Could that affect it?
-Edit-
The DPI is what caused it. I reverted to a standard size, and the theme applied as shown in the previews above.
@fryingpan0613 Any chance of getting the theme to support varying DPIs? If possible with the restrictions LG puts in place, that is.
Ooh my gosh! I'm totally going looking for that Barcode one!

Edit: Yes!!! A black and white theme that leaves the icon colors. Bought and rated! ??

I guess my replies yesterday didn't go through... I can mess with the other dpi and see what happens after I finish the theme I'm working on. I've never really touched the other DPI since these were for xxxhdpi.

Awesome I'm glad you liked it! That's one that most don't like because it's "boring", but sometimes simple is nice. As far as the icons, I don't touch any icons because I personally hate when not all apps carry the same theme, and I can only touch LG icons so I just leave them stock on all themes.

Yeah, that's how I feel too. I'd rather the icons just be left alone if they can't all be themed. I don't mind stock colored apps, it's when only a few change that it drives me batty.
Keep up the awesome work, thank you again!

Just got the aquifier theme and I absolutely love it. It makes much better use of the oled display than the white default theme does and I love the color blue. (I've always been a sucker for the way that android ics and jellybean looked).
I have the Verizon v30 vs996 and the theme works fine. I had to get the theme from the play store and go into homescreen settings and theme to apply it.
Thank you!

I'm getting close to finishing this theme for the normal resolution, then I'll probably go and do the other resolutions for those that change dpi before I release it. This one has taken awhile because I have to change basically everything for this theme to work.
I actually started this on the v20 but I didn't get it to my satisfaction before turning it in for the v30 so it never got released.

I dont know what it is about it, but I love it! And I dont even like purple lol, mabye I need to do this theme with black instead too.
I made a few really different themes on the v20, but they weren't popular. Like I made one that was desert digital camo themed, I loved it but it was a massive flop. I made a really awesome red white and blue theme too.
You can see what I did for the V20 here https://forum.xda-developers.com/v20/themes/fryingpan0613-theme-discussion-t3568603

I like that it's darker than white, but not blacked out. I know there's a "white UI must die" obsession with AMOLED devices, but then all devices just look the same.
If I have any fellow Marines in here, happy birthday!
Finally the Purple Nights theme is complete and published, including support for other DPI and screen resolutions in settings (settings > display > screen resolution). This theme has taken awhile to complete, I have been working on it since I got my V30, and I spent a few weeks on it for the v20 (it was never released) before that. The lower resolutions have to be manually resized and repatched, so it will take a while before I can get all my previous themes up to date with the resolution fixes since I basically have to recreate the theme 2 more times at lower sizes.

Many of you who have a Windows Mobile past like me, might have instantly recognized the thin colorful line(s) in the above image. And for the new Android generation, introducing Energy Bar - a pulsating Battery indicator!
Energy Bar puts a thin line on top of your Status Bar whose length corresponds to your device's current Battery level.
Got a full charge? The line will cover the whole width of your screen.
Battery depleting? So will the length of Energy Bar.
After several iterations (thank you for the feedback, early testers), the App is now feature packed:
Energy Bar can be configured from a width of 1 pixel to cover the entire status bar
Energy Bar puts almost 0% load on CPU, as it wakes up only to reflect any change in battery level
Energy Bar's origin can be configured as left/center/right
Energy Bar can hide on fullscreen content (apps, videos, images, games etc)
Energy Bar can be configured to change colors automatically depending on the live battery level
Energy Bar could have a mono color/multiple color segments/gradient
You can literally assign any color in the world for your favorite configuration
Energy Bar as a cool pulsating animation whenever a power source is plugged into your device
There is something about visual over numbers that keeps you and your device's battery level in sync with just a glance. You may find it intuitive/effective/stylish way to read the battery level, let me know what you think

No, what's in the Play Store is NOT the "Special Curved Edition for Note 8" the OP refers to. It's the old version discussed in another thread. Apparently, @jagan2 has chosen not to publicly release a Note 8 version at this time, making it impossible for users to give any significant feedback besides commenting that those are nice pictures!
There is an apk on APKMirror that claims to be the 1.3 beta, but only @jagan2 can tell us if it's legitimate.
I'm on Oreo Note 8. App works great but at times the bar disappears while using some apps.
Otherwise, it works flawlessly!

And there has been no Note 8 edition publicly available until now. Since I don't have a Note 8, I needed more detailed feedback which I felt a closed serious testers group would be able to give.
And you can see the results in the first post now, the App is now available for a wider range of testers.

Oh yes, it always did appear back and hence didn't worry much.
Also, since I restarted my phone this morning (probably the first time since I installed your beta app), I haven't had any issue with the Energy bar disappearing. There were only 2 app's where i had initially noted that issue - Play store & Whatsapp.. but both are working fine now.
Will try out the xda exclusive apk that you updated in OP now & let you know if I find any other issue. Either way, will buy your app from play store - you have done an awesome job and more than happy to support you!
Cheers!!

Thanks. IMHO, the corners of the 1.3 beta looks better (more pronounced) than the ones from the 1.1 in the Store (a bit too subtle) on a Note 8 running Oreo, but that's a matter of preference. No other obvious functional differences but I should have waited for the discounted price!
