i finally installed Cyanogenmod 11 on my mobile but i've a problem with sound (songs) the speaker is lower than original one and have some noise and it really annoying me!
another problem is the camera .. it's quality is lower than the original one too!
We do have an equalizer for sound tuning.
The camera is a known issue, it's meant to act with LG's official app. Until they can remedy the issue, it'll be blurrier.
Just be glad we have focus now. *shudders*
If you need louder sound or higher camera quality, there's always stock for the time being (;

ok here it goes, i am not a very techi person, but i pay attention to details, but i need to know if the sound quality is related to what rom I am running on my note.
If yes, which rom has the best quality output, and what software besides poweramp, will make a big difference in sound quality, and what settings do you use.
I flashed a few ics roms, and notcied that the sound quality became not as before, so is there any validation to my observation, but that is how i feel moving from one rom to another, listening to the same song on different roms, and noticing the sound quality.
I tried using DSP manager, and worked great with one rom, and not so great with another ics rom, but its difficult for me to analyze the whole sound quality thing, so I please need your help as for me music and sound quality is the most important aspect I look to get from a phone

if i am not wrong... yes it depends on what ROM you are using.. i have used several Roms so far.. out of many ROMs out there the best i can say at the moment is CM 9 V1 from Imilika .. its smooth.. stable.. and sound quality is just great...
Press thanks if this was useful for you.
In theroy it shouldnt matter. Hardware stays the same and drivers are the same unless tweaked drivers are used nit aware of thst in Gb roms

not to bash cm9 v1 i found that the sound quality was not great, I had much better sound from other ics roms, I wish I could remember which one it was, but I can't as I flashed so many roms,
I really hope technical gurus could shed more light on the sound quality and its relation to roms
Well since the audio hardware is the same and so are the drivers I don't see how would the rom affect sound quality (which is pretty poor to begin with)
Supercurio could shed some light on this subject....

Hey everyone, I've been pretty happy with my Xperia Z until yesterday when I was out and people called me and I couldn't really hear anything they said as the volume was too low in the earphone.
The earphone was / is clean and dry and I have tried different settings and of course max volume etc but it just seems to be too low?
Anyone had any better success with talking or rather listening to people trying to talk to you in traffic or noisy environments?
Surely Sony's flagship phone must let you actually hear what people say when they are calling you?
EDIT: I actually tried the service menu and the tests are pretty loud and very clear compared to calls... so at least the hardware seems to be ABLE to do it's job...

I find the sound quality from the earpiece terrible. It's not only quiet but very muffled and I can't really hear people on the phone even in quiet environments. I'm going to take the phone back because of this!

If you haven't yet, try turning off the Speaker voice enhancement under Call settings. That actually improved the in-call sound quality quite a bit for me.

Hm mine was off but turned it on now to see differences, will have a go tomorrow. Also there is a EQ for calls there as well that I haven't tried yet. I'm hoping that it's just the firmware that needs some extra push as the service menu proves Z can provide some serious quality in the hardware...
please confirm your problem here , so sony support can see this

Yes the problem still remains no matter what settings you do... I wonder if a rooted phone with a sound mod might increase the volume on the call side...?

Hello guys!
I want to buy this phone but the sound recording quality is importante for me. I´ll record meetings and, sometimes, from about 3 or 4 meters...
Can anyone say if the sound recording quality is good? My question is becuase it is waterproof... maybe it will make the recording quality below average?
Thanks!

It really depends.
I've seen some people say that it was bad (according to their opinion)
But I've also seen that said there was nothing wrong with it.
The Z3C has 3 recording settings (in terms of sound)
Silent, normal, concert (something like that) so I guess you'll have to play around with those to see which fits the occasion best.
Here are 2 random videos I found, And in my opinion the sound isn't bad. Based on my own experience it's not bad either, but I'm not you, you need to judge it by yourself.
I'd say go to a store if possible and just record some stuff. (Please note that the Z3C doesn't come with a build in sound recorder app so you'll need to get one from Play)

My experience so far is based on two scenarios.. Concert and alarm test messages. Both are absolutely great in quality! Using sonys audio recorder to even record stereo audio.

I have not done extensive testing regarding sound, yet, but from what I have done I am impressed with the default sound. It has a wide sound stage, but very clear. However, I have recently purchased Sony's STM10U Stereo Microphone which works on the Z3 devices. There is also Sony's audio recorder app that works with this mic to download.
It really adds a studio type control, blocking out all external sounds, providing a more focused sound. Great for concerts. Comes with a wind cover which is handy for blustery days. This way, I have all my sound options covered.

If you record regularly I'd suggest investing in a decent mini microphone that plugs into the headphone jack. I find the built in mic no better or worse than other phones I've had, but have not done any detailed comparison.
I have found the sound quality absolutely perfect with the Z3C!!!
I play in a band and have always been jealous of how well my friends iPhones have been able to record our band practices. My z3 compact is loads, loads better than my galaxy nexus or HTC hd2 but still not as even good as the iPhone 4 I'm afraid when it comes to recording at very loud volumes.
I'm also using the Sony audio recorder. It works well but the files are massive and can only be saved on internal memory.
i've problems with cm11 .. is there any recommended roms to try?
Device? What are you looking for? What problems did you have with CM11?

Camera quality is the same on every rom, sadly. Music quality however is quite subiective thing. For me it is in fact poor, but I dont know how poor is it for you (like, is it something wrong with rom or device or is it 'normal' according to the LG). I didn't record any changes on that in different roms

Thank you for your time
I've heard that the front facing speaker is pretty bad from this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/red-magic-3/help/red-magic-3-sound-t3936225
I was wondering what other users think, how does it compare to the speakers on the Galaxy S8/9? (I know that the ones on the S10 sound good enough). How loud do the speakers get? What's the DTS apk which was mentioned in the thread I linked? Do you guys think the sound quality can be fixed with root access equalizers like viper4android?
Also is there a reason why the real life reviews forum is empty? I can't seem to find many reviews for this device, so I'd love it if more people would post their impressions!
The sound quality is excellent if you use v4a to tune the speakers. I've suggested it a few times but nobody has done it.
