Does anyone know how to make full-screen album art appear on the lock screen when playing music when using the Walkman, Plex, or other music apps? This worked well and automatically on my Nexus 5.
Thanks.

Coming from a Nexus 5 as well. That was a cool feature...bump..bump.

thanks for the suggestion. there are some reports of that app not working well on Z3.
plus if I understand how it works correctly there is no way to only enable just album cover art, or am i wrong on this?
In my z3c works perfectly, you also get notifications on the lockscreen, i had the same issue as you... And i am absolutely satisfied!

ok, but i don't want notifications, just the album art. is that possible?
I use DB power amp as my music player, you can add it to the stock widgets on the lock screen. It will show as a small widget at first but if you swipe it down, it will fill the full screen.

ideally the album art would appear automatically rather than needing to swipe.
i wonder why Sony didn't implement this, or whether they will in the next Lollipop release?

Okay then. Just download widget locker. This lets you put any widget that got want on the lock screen. Therefore you can just have the full screen power amp widget. Widget locker also allows you to keep our remove the notifications bar from the top. Additionally swiping from the left of the lock screen gives you a list of what ever apps are the main ones you need to access, swiping from the right launches the camera.

Sorry that was just a typo. There is only one version. It's worth the money as it's great to place what ever widgets, wall paper and unlocking button /theme you want.

Hey guys.
I've searched for a couple of hours for 2 apps and can't find them. I ran a search on xda and nothing.
First app:
A battery indicator that i can see in the notification area but does not have a icon on the notification bar. I want to be able to drop down the notification bar and see the status of my battery in percentages. I prefer my notification bar as clean as possible.
Second app:
Power controls in the notification area. I found Quick Settings, but that opens another app to change the settings. I'm looking for a way to activate wifi, bluetooth and so on just by taping something in the notification area.
Thanks.
So, the conclusion is that there are no such apps?
It s only too much.
Quick settings is very impressive. It starts the app from the notification bar, thats right.
But, what would you all switch from the notification bar:
Wifi
APN
Brighness
GPS
Auto Sync
Bluetooth
Airplane Mode
etc...
There are too much options for one notification bar.
I'm thinking that an app like this would let me choose 3-4 toggles. I realize it's impossible to have them all.
Oh, and a toggle does not take a row, instead all the toggles should be on the same row but with separators between them.
OK, I' have to say, that I never found such a programm. Sorry.

So the default power bar widget won't work for you? It's pretty much exactly what you pictured, however a widget.
If you want to choose and have your own order, use beautiful widgets.
Why try and cram this into the notification area? You have 5 desktop screens (more with add-ons and custom ROM's) to put this stuff. Navigation from screen to screen is fast and easy (even if you hate the swipe thing).
Or this even? http://www.cyrket.com/p/android/com.extendedcontrols/
Dunno, just lost as to why I guess.
Yes, you are right, it looks like the power settings widget, but i want it in the notification area to be able to change settings without leaving the current app and stop using the widget. I need the space for other stuff
moved to the Q&A section
What about quickdesk? Kmobs hads mentioned it on twitter couple of times. you can put anything you want even the settings widget and can change it without leaving the app.

Are you talking about the widget? If yes, its not what i'm looking for. Like i said, both apps need to display something in the notification area, so no widgets and no notification bar icons.

i never tried it but damn is too bad the home button gets removed didn't know it. but the app is in beta maybe it will get fixed.
UPDATE: Today the QuickDesk app was released on the market and it fixed the issue, so now i can use it
One problem solved.
PS: I strongly recommend QuickDesk so go download it.
Although we do not yet have access to a screen shot application, it's time to start the inevitable Home Screen thread.

I took a shot of my screen with my trusty G2, sorry for the lack of quality.
By using Bettercut, I was able to use custom icons and remove the labels.
Thanks to jfritz2 @androidforums (link here: http://androidforums.com/t-mobile-mytouch-3g/187204-icons-cyanogenmod-icon-pack-2-18-11-a.html )
I placed my icons on the left and right edges of the screen, given that 99% of the time I am using the Xoom in landscape, allowing easy access with my thumbs.

I've found that Desktop Visualizer absolutely works with Honeycomb, although it's not available through the market yet. If you can find a copy of the app, you'll find it allows for custom sizes for icons and images placed on the homescreen.
UPDATED:
Using ADW EX, Desktop Visualizer, Widgetsoid, BW, and Pulse, along with some stock widgets.
The device pics take me directly to the XDA Forum for each applicable device

What toggle widget is that?
A few other things to note...
When searching for icons, I recommend using 256x256 pngs, the standard icons do not scale well in Bettercut or DV. You'll notice that although the icons are 1x1, they are scaled larger when removing the labels.
As for the wallpaper, I'm sure ou noticed my lack of originality. The truth is, I love this wallpaper. I use it as the wallpaper on my Honeycomb themed G2, my laptop and even my Xbox360.

I'm using Widgetsoid, available for free in the market, for the toggles.

No issues but when I was trying to set it to one screen only, it force closed on me a couple times. Once I got that set, no issues so far. I like the swipe gesture on the application drawer icon. It brings up your last 16 recent apps instead of the 5 limit using the honeycomb one.

Yes. You have to have the SDK loaded. See FAQ link in my signature. Also need to be in debug mode which I do not think is mentioned in that article Settings > Application > Development.

I hate the default swipe lockscreen, I want the normal swipe one from AOSP where I can pick between several apps to launch from the lockscreen.
Where do I get that? Is it available on the App Store, or as an apk?

Rename /system/app/XperiaLockScreen.apk to XperiaLockScreen.apk.bak or move the file to your sdcard.
It's that simple.
EDIT: Didn't see that you wanted the shortcuts. That will need some work. Not sure you will be able to get a replacement like that.
And the Lockscreen Widgets, yes... Holo Locker will give me the shortcuts, but not the widgets, and the default will give me the widgets and not the shortcuts.
Why the hell would Sony disable the shortcuts like this without adding any functions? "Value added" my ass.

You could try this:

Although the guide is for 4.1.2, it should also work for 4.2.2.
I'm not talking from experience here, because I haven't tried it, but this seems to be what you're looking for?
EDIT: If you can upload your framework-res.apk, I can probably try to do this for you.
Great, thanks! I'll try later, and I might ask you to do it for me if I can't figure it out.

It does, but the lockscreen music controls no longer work, so I don't know if that's because that just how it is (i.e you need to manually add the widget) or if applying the same code broke it, but this is how mine looks...

Hey all,
This has annoyed me for some time with this device. Music controls do not show up when playing something from google play music app.
I use the swipe pass-lock on my phone with no htc lock screen (they dont work with google play music anyway and I find it annoying to swipe a lock screen before I can actually unlocking my phone...) I remember this was a standard feature on 4.0 or 4.1 so I dont know why its not working here. All that I ever see is a date, clock and weather above my swipe pad. I want the standard music controls when there is music playing.
Before you ask: Yes, I do have "lock screen music controls" enabled in my security settings. It doesn't seem to do anything. Didn't see anything relevant come up with search- has no one else noticed this? I know that this was working with my Nexus S, why is it not working here? Any ideas?
I'll also mention my experience with 3rd party lock screens has been... bad. But I've at least tried

What ROM are you running? I build Beanstalk and it has this function working fine. Carbon does as well. If you are running a stock ROM, I'm not sure though.....
I'm on stock w/goodies one 2.07, I was thinking of switching to viper v3.1 tonight but I'll have to take a look at beanstalk. Thanks!
Still, I've never seen this work so I was kinda thinking it was just sense. I cannot believe I'm the only one who misses it though.

It's working great here too, I just wish I could choose what feature to be on.
About the blur effect, the 24.0.4 version had it and then they removed it in the newer 24.0.6 version.
No lag here, just the lock screen apps take a little longer to open.
