Since they are using the same camera hardware, do you all think it will be possible to port the much better LG G3 camera software to Moto X on Android L?

I doubt it and I don't think anyone will do it before lollipop comes out

Hey guys,
Tomorrow I'll change my Optimus G for Moto X. ..
I wonder if you have any chronic problem in MotoX, eg optimus G has a camera of 13Mpx low image quality ...
So, is there any reason that someone did regret the Moto X?
Thank you! I hope to soon be with you ...
The X is awesome. The end.

The Optimus G was my previous phone before the MotoX.
The G is a great phone and performance wise is actually close to the MotoX. The MotoX's features make it a better user experience IMO. Motorola has done a great job of optimizing the hardware on the X.
You will will getting a slightly smaller and lighter phone. You also lose some screen real estate because of the on screen buttons on the X.
I had the 8 megapixel AT&T version of the G, so I never got to experience the 13 megapixel camera.
The only thing I miss about the G is the SD Card.
Here I am! With my X in the hands and mind! Tks

I'm kinda wondering, might be able to pick a Moto G in the upcoming days. My N4 is getting old and seems the Lollipop update kinda screwed it up. Any insight would be appreciated! Thanks.

Look at the pros and cons of moto g:
Pros:
1. Moto g 2014 will be officially supported for longer period compared to N4 since N4 is now more that 18 months old. (Yes it's true that N4 received lollipop update considering that 18months policy. But I PERSONALLY think that this will be the last official update)
2. Better AOSP experience than N4. For ex in stock AOSP rom of N4, Google launcher is not default launcher. you have to download it from play store but moto g 2014 come with all the AOSP goodies (google now launcher, better gallery, better camera app etc, Camera and gallery app have been modified by motorola but Personally I think they are better than GApps) already installed.
3. Moto g comes with gorilla glass 3, while N4 has gorilla glass 2.
Cons:
1. Slow development compared to N4.
2. Weaker hardware compared to N4.
3. N4 has slightly better screen resolution than moto g.
4. Moto g doesn't have NFC support.
Personally I feel that, it depends on how you use ur phone. I still like using my Xperia U which is dual core and has just 512 mb ram.
I should say that, go for nexus 6 or moto x 2014 if possible. They both have better hardware than N4 or if not possible then stay with N4. (I have used both N4 and moto g 2014.)
Given the hardware and capabilities of this phone, does anyone know how difficult it may or may not be to create a ROM that ports the features of the Moto X? I own the original phone, as well as briefly owned the 2014 version. I think the Moto app that lets you configure the features of the phone are much nicer than what Google does stock. As the new X and G already have 5.0, what about a Nexus 6 port? It has an AMOLED display, and the newer X doesn't have all the custom co-processors anymore that required control of the always listening and active display. Is anyone else interested in a port of the X Rom?
It would be easier to port the Moto Maxx's ROM as it is technically equivalent (display size, chipsets, etc.) But 5.0 isn't out for the Maxx yet. I'm also waiting for this to happen, a N6 with Moto Suite would seriously kick ass.
agreed..
I have been trying to get a hold of a Moto X 2014 5.0 /system/ .zip files but no one wants to sent me one to play with.

@knitler - check your PM
Try looking at the Lollipop OTA ZIPs in the Moto X 2014 forums. That would be a start...
Anyone knows if there is a difference between using the LG G Watch R with the Moto X than using it with the Moto360?
Or both watches offers the same functionality with the Moto X?

Hi, I have a LG Watch (the square one) I have the same doubt but when you go to conect app you actually have to select a Moto 360 as the device but it will change it lo the correct model and work the same, you have to remeber that both devices have pure android wear without any addon from the companies.
So basically no, you will not see any differences.
hi
I have my primary device and n6 and my dad's old phone the moto x pure and I am curious if the camera modules are compatible. because I would like to put the moto camera or cameras in the Nexus...I believe it is a better sensor on the moto.
is this posable?
No. Physically, swapping the camera may be possible, but unless you know how to build the Android kernel and include the proper support for the hardware it won't work.
