Is there such an app? I want to format my 64Gb card so that twrp will recognize the files on it..I don't have a cars reader on my desktop computer or I would do it with software on computer...has to be able to format fat32..thanks friends.

You don't need an app to reformat your card. The best thing to do is this:
Put the SD card in your phone -> Settings -> Storage -> Format Card.
I believe it is always best to format your SD's in your phone so that you can ensure it is exactly what the phone wants and likes.
:good:

Thanks for the reply but in order for twrp to recognize the files on a 64Gb Micro SD you have to format to fat 32..I tried the way you suggested but still not working..twrp will open folders but doesn't see the files inside even though there are zip files inside...Rome. .backups etc.

Hmm that's strange. You may just need to reformat it via your computer to Fat32 then. However, once you're finished with all that you're trying to accomplish, make sure to reformat it inside your phone.

yeah, I was hoping that there was an app to do it because I dont have a card reader in my desktop..looks like I may just have to buy a reader. Ill post back afterwards with the results. Thank you!
In use use guiformat

You don't need a card reader. Just put it in your phone and hook up the phone to the PC. The Note 4 is your card reader.

I just got a new 64GB sd card, formatted it with settings>storage>sd card>format, and twrp reads it fine. Did u fix rw permissions in /etc/permissions/protocol.xml?

Hi all. I've been doing some research on this for some time now, and I haven't been able to find anything of relevance.
I have a 32GB Kingston microSD card that my phone cannot read. I get the following error:
"Bank External SD card
SD card blank or has unsupported file system."
When I try to format it with my Galaxy [2.2 legit froyo], it will still not let me mount it. Now this SD card may be FAT32 or it maybe NTFS - I'm not too sure, but which ever one it is, my phone doesn't like!
I don't know how to access this memory card via my computer, I was wondering if there was a fix for this or if there was a program on the Market that will allow me to format back and forth with NFTS and FAT32 through my phone?
I've tried everything, whatever I do just does no work, so please don't be telling me to make sure I've put it in correctly or take it out and put it back in because they simply do not work.
Thanks in advance...
No? Bump... Please help me, I hate having no space on my phone!
Try using a card reader and see if shows up on the computer. Sd formatter has worked for me before to bring an unresponsive card back. Do a google for sd formatter.

How can I go about actually connecting my microSD to the computer..?
You will need an sd card reader and the adapter for the micro sd.
One month ago i bought on ebay a 32 gb Mirco Sd, i put it in my phone which told me to format it: i did it and than it stopped to be shown in both phone or computer.
Ok, i thought i had bought a fake and i started again to use my old 16 gb Micro SD i've had for one year.
This morning i switched on my phone phone and it told me that it had a problem with the Micro SD and i needed to format it; i did it and since than it happend the same happend with the one i thought was a fake (now i'm not so sure).
It stopped to work anywhere!
Do anybody have any ideas to solve this?
clean the contacts on the card and the phone. Make sure your computer's reader can handle that size of sdcard. the computer usually can, but the reader may have a problem. Verify that it is formatted as FAT.
I cleaned the contacts and now my phone sees the micro sd: it only says "empty sd stick or unsupported filesystem", but in the memory settings i can't mount it and if i try to format it nothing happens.
The pc still doesn't see the sd, i've even tried with 2 different readers

Do u remove sd crd often, if u do then pls go to settings-sdcarf and storage and unmount your sd card or it will get corrupted. Its an amdroid problem. The rest part where it doesnt work anymore is wierd.

I remove it sometimes, but not that often, however i can't do that, because so far it still can't be mounted nor formatted and also it can be seen by the computer

I used to have this issue with my old sdcard. If you can get the computer to read it first try this :https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_3/. If that doesnt work try some software called partition magic and use it to format the card. This might not work for you but i was having the same issue as you and it did for me.

No probs, and the only way i could get the computer to read the sd card was using a card reader, multiple reboots, removing and re-inserting the sd card until it decided it wanted to be read....as you might imagine it took a while, good luck
Suddenly my SD card stopped being recognized.
Cannot mount it, cannot format it under CWM recovery
I put in my laptop running Win 7 and I can see everything is on it. Still cannot format it even on Win 7. It says it is write protected.
Any ideas ?
Download Panasonic SD Formatter,
format with that.
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using xda premium
Tried with Panansonic card formatter, but same message: Write protected !!
L.E.: Tried with another SD card .... everything is ok
The previous one is always reported as Write-protected no matter what I'm doing (valid while in Win7, 'cause the phone does not see it at all).
Anyway at least I still have my data on it and can read it on my laptop and transfer it on the other card.
If anyone has any idea on how to unblock the SD card will have a big THX from me
are you talking about an SD card or a MircoSD card?
*Some* SD cards come with a "lock" toggle on the card.
If you are using a standard SD card is the toggle in the lock position?

as stated in my first post, it stopped working suddenly, in the middle of the day.
It said "No SD card mounted" ... couldn't format it, nor re-mount it on the phone
I put it in my laptop running Win 7 and I could see all the data inside, can copy it, but cannot delete anything because it says it is write-protected.
Resolution ? changed the card with a new one .....then I just copied part of the data from the old one to new card.
Alright, that's weird, I hope no one else has this problem
I would hate this to happen to me, I bought a faster sdcard

since I already bought a new card, which is working, and the old one still can access it's data, I see no reason to try and format it now.
At least knowing that it is blocked as write protected I'm sure that nothing can delete the data stored on it
I reformatted my SD card that was in my phone a while back but the problem now is that is my phone will not read the SD card. It only shows the internal memory.
Maybe the SD card is damaged? Have you tried it on a different device?

Okay, most likely somehow your format got interrupted so I suggest to try formatting it again. If that doesn't work Mount it to a PC right click the SD cards partition and click properties then scan disk and post error results if there are any.
EDIT: sorry, didn't notice your upper post.
Not formatting through a pc might've been the problem all along, keep us posted.

Hey guys, i've read some threads about the moving of APPS from the internal to the externa sd card via link2SD.
Could somebody outline the steps required to partition the sdcard0(external SD card) so that i can move APPS to my SD card?
Software i'm using for partition is Minitool partition wizard.
Other Info: Sony Xperia SP C5303, build number 12.0.A.1.257, ROOTED phone.
Thankyou! ^^
Depending on size of card you have got I think 4gig is big enough if you have 32 gig card.
I used easeus partion software free version.
The card must be inserted into PC via card reader not in phone, open software select card and move slider to size of partition needed set it to fat32 and make it primary.
When inserted into phone start up link2sd it will ask how you want ext2sd card to be handled select fat32.
Then with in the app select apps to move and then create link to SD this will move them to ext2 on your ext SD card.
Search xda for link2sd for more info.

Hey, is there a way to do it without using a card reader or any other software that doesn't need a card reader in order to partition the sd card to a primary?
Because i just found out that my sd card reader is broken :/
Not that I am aware..... card readers are not that expensive
You need PC to see and read card if it is in the phone it will not show up in partition software.
You can always try.

Alright, i'll go out and purchase a new card reader tomorrow.
Btw, i hav a 8GB micro SD card, is that enough for partitioning?
Thanks for your help again, Much Appreciated ^^.
Yes would be better if you could get bigger like 16 gig.... however if you can't then I would make partition about 1-1.5 gig.... A lot depends on what apps and data you are going to use.
If you are going to install asphalt 7 this has game data of about 1gig, angry birds are about 45 MBS so you can see it all depends on your choice of apps.
Best to back up card to PC before starting Incase it goes wrong but they all say no data will be lost.

If youre going to install lots of obb data games, you probably wouldnt need link2sd much, go for folder mount. If youre installing lots of small games like angry birds, subway surfers and more, then you can use link2sd. My sp setup: 4gb ext4 + rest is fat32 on 32gb card. Using both link2sd and folder mount.

Alright, thanks for the reply.
I'll decide in 1 days time to see if i should go for folder mount way(which i need instructions on it) or whether to go with link2sd.
And yes, i have Ashphalt 7 installed on my phone atm. The game is great and ye takes up alot of space :/
Would you guys be so kind to instruct me on using foldermount if i do decide to go with it that way?
And i might as well buy a 16 or 32gb SD card.
Or should i wait for the Android 4.3 update for our Sony Xperia SP? DOes it support the function of moving APPS to SDCARD?

AFAIK, the foldermount has a restriction of 3 or 4 games only in the free version. Lots of other features in the paid version. Check both the apps out on their respective thread in XDA
Using folder mount is easy to use.
You will need to create a folder on ext SD card (I called mine game data.) Open game data folder you just created and then make another folder (give this the name of the game you are moving over)
Open folder mount app in to box give it name of game.
Middle box select where the game data is either on internal SD card/android/data or SD card/android/data/data
Then bottom box select where to store game data that goes into new folder you just created
Press green tick in to corner when done make sure the pin goes green this make it load at boot.
If game updates the new data will automatically go to the folder you won't need to recreate or re mount.
At boot the folders are automatically loaded
